Aurora Ozone Hotel - Kangaroo Island

This review is based on a two nights stay and an evening meal in the hotel restaurant.
We arrived as walk-ins and received friendly and correct service from the reception staff. At first we wanted to stay for just one night but when we saw the room (executive sea view in the extension connected to the original hotel), we asked for a second night. The room was pleasant, spacious, very clean, with a large terrace and a modern bathroom.
The meal we had was excellent, in fact the Angus burger with beetroot was amongst the best I’ve ever had. The service we received was excellent. The team consists of young, enthusiastic and friendly local and foreign people.
I am very glad that we didn’t pay too much attention to the negative reviews (quite often made by people with just one or two reviews on their account).

The hotel mixed up our room booking. But, they were very honest and apologised. Made sure we and our kids were comfortable and even moved us to seafront premium apartment at no extra cost, so that whole family could stay together. Excellent food, room service, reception staff were very helpful, kind & friendly. We will definitely be returning back here next time when we are in KI!! Thanks

I recently had the pleasure of staying at your hotel and I must say, it was an absolute delight. The service was outstanding, the rooms were impeccably clean and cozy, the location was perfect with a stunning view, and the staff were incredibly friendly. Thank you for making my stay so wonderful!

We stayed for 3 nights and had no complaints, although we did use our own data for the TV as the free Wi-Fi seemed slow. Friendly service, clean room, nice view and it was quiet.

The location is great for getting to most places on KI, except for the east island.

We had a sensational meal at the Aurora Ozone Hotel restaurant. Marrone linguini was delicious. La Service was prompt and friendly. Customer service from our waiter, Julian, was spot on! Irish bartender also made great gin cocktails. Kids activity books were a hit also.

Lovely place to dine as, you get great backside views. Food was fresh, service was quite fast and would highly recommend trying their cheesy garlic bread - was absolutely fresh and delicious

Stayed one night staff very friendly was made to feel at home. The food was excellent, the bed was very comfortable, highly recommend.

Lovely setting so close to waterfront. Food and staff great. Rooms were also comfortable and very clean.

Prompt friendly service. Menu catering for every dietary requirement. Food very tasty, locally sourced if possible.

Gorgeous views, a wonderful old pub. Rooms clean and well furnished.

Good rooms, great spot across from the water, great staff, very helpful. No off street parking.

We were a large group, with an unexpectedly last minute booking and Margeux and the whole team went above and beyond to ensure we could get our orders in before the kitchen closed. Huge thanks also to the kitchen staff who stayed back to prepare and cook our meals - which were fresh, tasty and excellent quality. When it would have been much easier to say no to a large group, the team said yes and absolutely made our night - we are so appreciative of the extra efforts and time the team gave. Anyone looking for friendly service and a quality, affordable meal on KI - I highly recommend The Aurora Ozone Hotel.

Went to the hotel for dinner without a booking. The Manager Kylie said they were fully booked until 8pm. But we were welcome to order from the bar menu. The bar menu was amazing. The food was amazing. The staff were fantastic friendly and very bubbly.
There was a new staff member Margot who was so good you would not know it was her first night. She was so lovely. The bar staff especially Florence was so efficient. The manager Kylie was the sort of boss I would love to work for. So good to her staff. 😊

Food was great, the service was excellent thanks to our waiter Julian.

Went for the view, will go back again for the service and the food! It was a perfect dinner! They have a good chef that makes everything taste delicious from the entrees to the desserts. Don’t listen to the other negative reviews, but go and try it for yourself. Make sure you make a booking though; place gets very busy especially during holidays

We had tea here Monday night. We were greeting by a lovely guy behind the bar, who was friendly & helpful. His partner was our waitress & she too was professional & super friendly. Our meal was delicious! My husband has coeliac disease & they catered for him very well. Our local wine was also delicious. Because we got there early we got to enjoy the beautiful view as well. The Whole hotel is full of character & lovely to be in.

Lovely hotel for a trip to Kangaroo island! Clean rooms and Walking distance to the jetty and all of the Kingscote shops!

We had a wonderful 5 nights stay at the Ozone. Our room was beyond our expectations - amazing views of Kingscote beach, a luxurious spa, beautifully appointed rooms. Enjoyed breakfast in their dining room every morning and lucky enough to see seals playing in the water. Staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. It all added to happy memories of our trip to Kangaroo Island. THANK YOU! 🙂
