Excellent find on the outskirts of Vienna. It may not look like much on the outside, but the inside is high quality with a friendly atmosphere.

Wonderful Gasthaus in Erdberg. Fresh seasonal food, great wines. A great place for couples and families alike. Definitely my favourite in Vienna. Also big shout-out to the great servers

Typical Viennese kitchen, amazingly tender rind gulasch. Also had gnocchi with tomato as vegetarian option.

- Waitstaff speaks little to no English.

Excellent traditional Austrian cuisine with attentive staff. Also features large plates, so make sure to leave some room for dessert! Sidenote: no credit card is accepted in the restaurant.

That's what we call a "Wiener Gasthaus". Off center but worth to go under every aspect. They even have nice, clean rooms to stay, by the way.

About Donauinsel
Island in Austria

The Donauinsel is a long, narrow artificial island in central Vienna, Austria, lying between the Danube river and the parallel excavated channel Neue Donau. The island is 21.1 km in length, but is only 70–210 m wide. It was constructed from 1972 to 1988 primarily as a measure for flood protection. It has since become the most popular recreational area of the city. source
