HORNBACH Wien Stadlau

So this was a random place my wife and I visited on our trip to Vienna. We are DIYers/makers in the USA, and wanted to see what a home improvement store looks like in Europe. If you are used to a Home Depot, Hornbach is eerily similar. I found the visit very enlightening.

Excellent experience buying propane gas. Was not entirely sure which bottle to buy. But the helpful and willing attendant showed me all size options and made useful suggestions. Also, the section dealing with gas canisters is well-marked, easy to find and well-stocked too. Happy customer :)

Huge “HOME DEPOT “ type of business. Everything you need for your project. From nails, to plants, to aquariums and everything in between. Only hack, you have to chase the employees to find out where is what you are looking for 👀

Nice and helpful costumers service

Huge DoItYourself, construction and gardening center with a huge selection of stuff that I didn't even know it's existing until yesterday. Also tons of plants, wood, tools and construction materials. Has a better atmosphere than other similar markets which are often very stressful and unfriendly.

Of course you cannot expect a customer service like in a beauty-salon but after some searching around I found a friendly lady who introduced me to the secrets of jigsaws - and in the end pointed me to a much better (and lower priced) solution for my craftsmanship challenge.

In the end it always depends on the employees, the people who work in such a place - but I (and probably others) can sense if these people are motivated and well trained by their leaders - or if they are left alone and exposed to grumpy demanding customers without support.

In this case - at Hornbach Stadlau - I had the feeling that it was a good mix between a professionally led high end hardware store and a friendly environment with personal advice.

Excellent service!! It's hard to locate the employees for help because they are very busy but when you manage get their attention they are very helpful, polite, fluent in english and knowledgeable. So I'd recommend just trying hard to find someone and ask for help when needed.

This store has everything I need when it comes to "do it yourself" material. One the other side Hornbach offers a great number of solutions that are ready to use - bathroom, garden, basement etc. The variety of tools is pretty great with prices from low-mid-high segment- depending on the brand and work you need to get done. I can only recommend it.

I like Hornbach. It has almost everything. The main advantage is you can find construction staff, gardening tools, flowers and plants, as well as decoration items for home. A few months ago I was looking for a small size white board, and found it there too!

It's Hornbach, so decently stocked, friendly and helpful staff and wide variety of hardware for construction, pets hobby and garden.

I was surprised this morning with a super costumer care from one young girl working on part for *Linoleum*, i asked her for some good PVC carpet with resonable price for my balcony she was advicing me, asking how balcony looking like, and she show me all available PVC carpets.Shopping was fast and good Thank you Hornbach!!!

I love Hornbach. The employees are professional, the space is nicely organised. It's never too crowded and it's a place where you can find everything you need from screws to kitchenware.
