Gaststätte Pistauer

Every time I am in the area, we visit the Pistauer, which is a lovely local guest hause with great food. I normally eat
Leberknödel suppe, Wiener schnitzel ( Real schnitzel, made from Veal , not pork) and Mohr im Hemd, which is a chocolate cake with warm molten chocolate and cream.
It's always crowded so advance booking is required.

Must place to Done in.Amazing cozy place, it's like a hidden gem. Typical home cooked food. Must place to Visit.
Spare ribs are to die for. . Note:- Kitchen closes at 9. Bar is still open till 11 PM.

Try their garlic spareribs. Big portion, good dressing and potatos. Goes well with a couple of beers.

This is the best restaurant in Vienna, as far as I'm concerned. GREAT value for the money, Traditional Austrian dishes, Service is excellent. Went three times, close to the JUFA Hotel, you can reach it on foot in 6-7 minutes! Next time I come to Vienna JUFA HOTEL +Gaststätte Pistauer = winning combination

Very good Wiener schnitzel and not overpriced. Good beer and wine selection. Highly recomended.

Very good food, big portions and accessible prices.
The atmosphere and people are really nice. I enjoyed trying some traditional viennese/austrian food.
The only minus I personally encountered is that I was attacked by bees, but I think that might be something personal...they followed me around city😄

we stopped by for a quick dinner, the staff was very accommodating and helpful, our food arrived super-fast (we ordered from the daily specials) and was yummy. Adding the place to our restaurant list -comes handy after an exhausting arts supplies shopping trip!

We had eaten at this pub 12 years ago and found it to be just as good this time around. Delicious Austrian favorites and full bar. We ate on the patio (there are patios on either side of the building) on a beautiful, breezy day that was perfect. Lots of locals. We saw groups celebrating birthdays and baptism. Go early or expect to wait. Highly recommended!

A cosy restaurant. Not haut quisine, but very good. Good food. Large portions. Friendly staff with great service. The next day they remembered what we ordered and gave us advice. We did not have to wait long for our food. After ordering we had our food in a quarter of an hour, also on the busy Saturday evening when the restaurant was full. We have eaten here several times, and found it very pleasant. Definitely to be recommended.
