Strandcafé an der Alten Donau

It was a bit exhausting to deal with the grilled fish but it was worth it for the fresh taste. Nice view and staff. The restaurant offers the famous ice of Marillen balls from Tichy as dessert (higher price but understandable).

The restaurant is very nice.
Food was good as well, well cooked .
Staff very friendly and the atmosphere is lovely.

Lovely atmosphere, nice foods, reasonable price. A little gem just a short walk from the Alte Donau station, warm and cosy place to mingle with friends or enjoy dinner with family. The waiters are friendly but service could be slow at the dinner time when all hungry customers come at once. Parking spaces are available.

Traditional Austrian food cooked very well, served with a smile and quickly more impressive with a view over the lake for a group pf 10+ people without needed to insist on a set menu! 👏 definitely worth a visit

A arge, tastefully decorated restaurant serving delicious food. During the summer, you may dine on the expansive terrace with a view of the Danube, making it more cozier. The pork ribs on the grill are delicious 👌

Great ribs at a perfect location on the river. Beer was cold and the garlic soup is also recommended. It's slightly away from the center (15 minutes taxi drive) but definitely worth it, in a very nice neighborhood. Best book a place, but it's a huge place and you can come with no reservation if you don't mind a 20-30 minute wait in rush hour. Try the outdoor if weather permits.

Best spareribs in Vienna. They have a bite to it which I love (not falling of the bone) and the red and white sauce are priceless! Great view outside.

The Strandcafe is extremely nice restaurant to dine and wine. Best rib in the town and ofcourse the view is spectacular. Food is traditional austrian and one can enjoy fish as well. You can reach the cafe by U1 Kagran stop and 10 min walk. The view is incredible and the cafe located at alte donau. Indoor dine is also possible and has a bigger space actually. Very nice staff and very quick in service.

From my point of view, it was a great place with incredible view. The ribs were really great! The strudel was also good, not too sweet which I feel like it's an advantage. Had beer with the ribs, it was super. Maybe the sides could be better, but in all honesty I feel like the star is being able to eat bbq near shore. I don't know if it was expensive

Best ribs in Europe ( my humble opinion) expensive but massive portions and great quality food.my husband's favourite restaurant for ribs n beer 🍺

The classic salad might be an easy choice if you don't have any idea which one is the best~

The stowed beef doesn't really give you much flavor. But tastes great. Soup is great, too~

Beer is so so. Maybe we didn't find out the right choice lol.

The view is great~ it's just besides of the river. Maybe after meals you might wanna enjoy some boat activities which is very close by, not hard to find out at all.

The food is tasty! We tried the ribs, schnitzel, salad and potato chips. They raised prices a lot. The service was okay.
Having lunch on the water is a nice experience.

Best port ribs in Wien unlike those greasy ribs with tons of high calories ribs. Can actually tastes the juicy flavor of fine lean meat. Dessert is very tradition and the Budweiser-Grieskirchner G'mischtes is just try beer.

Tonight was my 5th or 6th time at the Strandcafe in as many visits to the beautiful city of Vienna. I had to treat myself to Strandcafe’s signature spareribs. The Austrian Grieskirchner Dunkel which is a mildly sweet beer which I was introduced to over 12 years ago goes so well with spareribs was my drink of choice. The others at our table ordered different dishes which they raved about. All in all it was a pleasant experience. I highly recommend Strandcafe to anyone visiting Vienna who has the time to commute to alte Donau for it. As for myself “I will be back” for me I know (to quote a great Austrian - American actor☺☺😉).

Great restaurant especially if you are meat lower. You have a lot of options, also vegy and staff is very quick. Prices are somewhere in the mid range but you get really a lot for this money. Also do not forget : place is on great pleace!

Foods good but resection service is not good.

Great restaurant at the Donau. The food is good,atmosphere is great. Must book it in advance for good spot, although they found table for me anyway
