Peony Cruises Ha Long

We did the 3 day 2 night experience with 4 girlfriends. I highly recommended you do 2 nights instead of 1 night. The day boat on the 2nd day & biking to the village was a highlight you do not want to miss. The itinerary was so well thought out and so well executed. The food was delicious. The pictures don’t do the views justice! The BEST thing about our experience, however, was the staff and crew. Henry was our server and was such a joy! He was thoughtful, attentive, funny, and made us feel so special! Ken, the cruise manager, did such an incredible job. He taught Thai chi, was an excursion tour guide, made us laugh, kept us on schedule, and went above and beyond in every way! Andrew, another server, also was a joy to be around. I had never been waited on with that level of VIP service before! I was so sad to leave our ship home and the staff of new friends. 3 of the best days I’ve ever had on vacation!

Took the 3day/2night option. Quite honestly it's pretty expensive compared to the other things we did on our Vietnam trip, but it was worth it. Cabins are very comfortable, more like a hotel room than a boat cabin. The scenery fantastic. But it was the staff that made it .... super friendly, extremely helpful, fun people. Stand out was Bobby, thank you so very much Bobby.

AMAZING experience on our 3 day, 2 night cruise. Tam managed the boat and she was GREAT! Tom taught cooking lessons each evening and lead us on our cave tour. He is so friendly. Leo was our waiter and he did a fantastic job providing excellent service. I highly recommend Peony as your cruise option.

Amazing experience. Lee, Bobby and Ken (Peony Cruise 2) were incredibly friendly and nice to all of us during our entire trip. Bobby and Ken especially the men of every show. The suite was spacious and the view along Halong Bay was just breathtaking. Food on board were delicious. Never disappoint. My family and I were not once bored on board.

2D1N itinerary was a bit too short so we might return for 3D2N cruise in the future.

One of the best experiences I had in my East Asia trip. The rooms are amazing, there’s a view, balcony and a bathtub with a view, it really feels luxurious. The food is amazing and they suits themselves to your diets. The staff are super friendly and give you the best service.
The Wi-Fi on the cruise is not good.
Drinks are not included in the price but everything else is.

Would recommend to anyone fantastic staff rooms and scenery. The food was plentiful and lovely although more to a western style taste which is understandable. The 2 night 3 day cruise is worth the extra as you get to see so much more. Some helpful information we couldn't find before the trip: there is a 3% surcharge for use of cards all paid at the end of the trip. Happy hour occurs twice before and after dinner and is BOGOF on cocktails and spirits. The bike tour takes about 20min each way over lovely and smooth roads with a few small uphill sections that you can simply push if required as bikes have no gears. For breakfast you can ask for pho or eggs if required. You spend day 2 of the 3 day cruise on a day boat which has showers and all the required facilities. Towels are included on all boats along with all toiletries. on the transfer bus you stop along the route so can buy refreshments if required. For meals you can give dietary requirements and you get served a different set of meals separate to the buffet or main menu. From the menus you get everything listed so save space! The swimming pool onboard is only a few inches deep but that hot tub is lovely for top deck

This is a really fabulous cruise. We did a 3 day/2 night one. They gave us a free upgrade to a premium family room on the 2nd floor (same floor as the dining room) & the rooms were very, very, nice! Private balconies were exceptional although, late at night got a bit of fumes from generator/engine at least at port side but, don't suppose that can be helped if there is no breeze. The food was very good.. & plentiful - every meal = several courses! It was far too much for me as I really only normally eat brunch & tea. I made a mistake & told them I was pescetarian (vegetarian that eats fish). I was once served squid 3x in one day! 🙈 Not that I don't like squid but, I'm more of a vegetarian that very occasionally eats fish (once a week). This was my own fault for not making that clearer. 😊 I thought about saying originally I was just vegetarian but, didn't want to miss out on seafood. 😁 Sara was our server throughout the cruise & she was an excellent hostess & waitress. Very attentive to your needs. The breakfast buffet was fabulous with a wide range of options to choose from - traditional Vietnamese & Western choices + exceptional European cheese board. All of the activities and land excursions to Cat Ba Island etc. were very well organised. We quite enjoyed the kayaking & swimming in the sea off the boat as well! On board too my daughter enjoyed learning how to make Vietnamese spring rolls. The drinks are akin to British prices from the bar but, there is a cocktail happy hour 2 for 1 we took good advantage of. You might try to buy some alcohol from the women who come up to the big boat with their wee boats of goods - may be a touch cheaper. Transfer was well organised between Hanoi & Ha Long Bay as well. All of the staff were extremely helpful & friendly. Would recommend!

Amazing cruise, and service! The room was incredibly beautiful, the bath being a highlight. Bring bubble bath if you plan on enjoying yourself that way! My partner and I celebrated our anniversary there, the room was decorated for this and our table for dinner was decorated above and beyond!!

Drinks were more on the expensive side - but overall worth it when you consider their efforts and where you are. The places you went were incredibly beautiful, although we found the schedule ran earlier than stated in the itinerary. They definitely keep you entertained! Cruising around to quieter places would have made it 11/10 (can always see another cruise boat around kind of thing).

I would highly recommend this company to anyone. Everyone was lovely, and the set menus were amazing. Very accomdating when it came to food options.

The welcome and the service on Peony 2 was excellent. We spend Christmas Eve and Christmas Day on the boat. They really made a special effort to make it a very memorable experience with live music and the crew singing jingle bells.
Food was a mixture of western and Vietnamese.
Not the best we have had but we have been spoilt with amazing food in the home stays in Ha Giang and Sapa

We had a really fun time on our two-day Peony cruise in Halong Bay. Nice boat with great rooms. Staff are super friendly and excellent. Food during breakfast, lunches and dinners is also excellent.

Mojito , Ken and Lee were extremely accommodating and made it a magical experience. From the food, to the views, to the excursions, to the rooms, it was everything I expected.

Great cruise option. Will be back for sure.
