We boarded Dragon Pearl 2 for a 3 day, 2 night cruise of Bai tu Long Bay in Feb 2024. We enjoyed the cruise.
The food, ambience and service was great. Coco, the tour guide, was very good. The staff were very helpful and polite.

The Indochina Junk Bai Tu Long Bay tour has been a great highlight of my time in Vietnam. The crew of the Dragon Legend went above and beyond to make our experience safe and enjoyable, from the driver to the tour guide and chef. The bay was splendid and the food was fantastic. I would recommend this trip to anyone.

I really loved this cruise. 3 days 2 nights. They went to nice locations and included many activities. The crew was fantastic. We all had a great time.

A wonderful 2 night cruise on the Prince 2 (4 cabins, max 8 guests).
If you have the time do 2 nights rather than 1 night I would recommend it.
Fantastic food. The menu in the photo wasn't to choose from, we got it all.
Brilliant service staff. One of them played his bamboo flute for us after dinner. He was really good!
No rush or crowds. Excellent guide travels with you.
There were so many good points with this company

This cruise was the best experience. From arriving at the port where Indochina Junk handled our luggage, everything was taken care of for us. (We observed other companies where the passengers had to bring their own luggage aboard.) The crew was friendly and helpful, the food was exquisite, the ship and cabin were comfortable and beautiful. The activities were perfect, not too many and not busy. Getting to visit the less crowded Bai Tu Long Bay was great. The views were incredible and we weren't surrounded by lots of other ships. Unlike most other two-night cruises, Indochina Junk does not use a day boat, so you will have access to your cabin at all times. The food was absolutely incredible, and if you are vegan or vegetarian, this is the cruise for you, as they will feed you very well and not as an afterthought. I would recommend this cruise to all who want an authentic experience. This is probably not the cruise for the party crowd. Indochina Junk has my highest recommendation.

Had a pleasant stay at the Dragon's Pearl with my husband during the christmas break (highlight of our Vietnam trip!!).

The room was really comfortable, the landscape of the bay was very spectacular, and the food & beverages menus were really delicious. I recommend everyone to experience the stay at the Dragon's Pearl!!

We had a magical stay on the Dragons Pearl! Coco and the crew were amazing - everything ran like a well oiled machine. Rooms are cosy but have everything you need. The food surpassed our expectations - it was ALL delicious.
If your unsure which cruise to take I would highly recommend Indochina Junk!
We went to a different part of the Bay where there were far less boats - it was so peaceful and felt like we were at the edge of the world.
We met some great people on the boat and there was a real social aspect to the trip which was lovely!

Just 6 of us looked after by ‘Chang’ and the crew
The food was amazing, and the vegetarian options were excellent as well
A beautiful place to visit, away from the hordes in Halong Bay
Lovely room with an unusually large bathroom

We cruised the last weekend in November on the Dragon Legend. 2 Days/1 Night.

Everything about the trip was awesome from pick up to drop off the process was very efficient which was very nice to see.

A few thoughts on the trip.

Food - fully enjoyed all the meals and there was plenty to eat. We had wine at dinner and didn’t find it to be expensive.

Rooms - were comfortable. I would say the air con was a little weak but over all comfortable. We rearranged the couch so we could sit on it and look out the window. Showers were a bit messy with water getting all over the place and the hair dryer was well not worth trying to use but didn’t expect much from a bit.

Activities- kayaking and cave walk was great so was the boat trip around the fishing village. We also stayed up on deck after dinner and played cards with our friends. The squid fishing was a bit silly and wasn’t really sure it was the real deal but no harm.

Overall experience- was a really great trip. We wish we had a bit better weather as the first day was dreary and morning was rainy. The activities were fun… we sorta wish to go a 2 night trip so you have a bit of time to chill. Staff was very good. Price was good for the experience.

We have done the Halong Bay cruise in October 2022 and we had a lovely time. We have done 3 days 2 nights with the Dragon Legend Cruise.

There are a lot of activities that will keep you busy and relaxed at the same time. We visited a fishing village which was amazing and the sights were lovely! We have done lots of kayaking, visited some stunning caves, had barbecue at the beach, watched the best sunrises and sunsets of Vietnam, lovely dinners under the stars, did some squid fishing, and had the best three days we could have had!

The food is delicious, and it keeps coming.
This specific cruise does the least crowded and least known place of the area which is Bai Tu Long Bay

We can only recommend doing this cruise!

We went on a 3 day 2 night cruise on Dragon Legend. The staff and the ship was amazing! We were never hungry and really enjoyed our 8 course lunches and dinners! We also liked the activities, such as visiting the floating village, kayaking, and having lunch on a remote beach. It was a really comfortable stay and I would use Indocina Junk's services again.

It’s expensive! Especially if you’re solo like me.

But the staff, including the booking office, the guides, and everyone on the boat are exceptional.

I loved how much boat time we had so I could really enjoy the sun deck and my room.

So much food, so you’ll never be hungry. I wouldn’t have minded a smaller lunch and dinner and adding pancakes and more fresh fruit to breakfast, but now I’m just nit picking.

Some people didn’t like that we stopped for a local water puppet show on the way back to Hanoi but I enjoyed it, and it was only a 30 min show.

There was a kid across the hall from me who liked to yell at 6am so that wasn’t fun.

Overall, I loved it! So beautiful!!

It was my family’s first time going to Halong Bay and my sister and I were tasked with finding the right cruise for our large group (we were seven people). We’re so glad we ended up going with Indochina Junk, everything went smoothly and the staff were so hospitable and helpful! We were welcomed with a sweet tea drink and enthusiastic waves when we boarded the cruise. The lunch was fantastic, so delicious! My favourite was the clay pot seafood stew, everything tasted so fresh.

Shortly after lunch we went on a hike, explored some caves which were super cool and big! I’m a little sad that we were unable to kayak and bbq on the beach due to bad weather (it was very windy!). We had a bit of free time between cave exploration and dinner. Dinner was also spectacular, the chef prepared 3 pieces of food decoration (steaks, dragon, and birds made of carrots, pumpkins and radishes) and my dad was super impressed! After dinner we were free to do whatever but they also offered squid fishing on the lower deck. It was very hard, no one from our group was able to catch any.

The next morning, we were all loudly woken up by the engineer rumbling at 6:15. This also allowed us to get us and see the sunrise! Then breakfast was served, very yummy! All our meals were amazing but breakfast was exceptional. I love bánh cuốn!! They served buffet style Vietnamese traditional breakfast but also offered continental breakfast for those who had more American tastes. After breakfast we went to visit a fishing village and hopped on a row boat. Each row boat could only carry 6 people so my dad was voted off (sorry, he joined another boat tho and looked like he had fun). It was super cool to see how the fishermen lived amongst the limestone rocks and waters! Many of them had pet dogs and cats, so so cute.

We ended our cruise with some delicious lunch! The only thing that didn’t satisfy our tastebuds were the sweet and sour ribs, but everything else was so good. Milky man and smiley were exceptional and we can’t recommend them enough. Milky man can work on his magician tricks though (haha).

All the activities and meals were included in the price, except for drinks. We ordered some every meal and our total at the end of the trip was around ~1.5million Vietnamese Dong which was about 85 CAD! The rooms and the boat are a lil more dated than photos online but honestly everything was clean and spacious and my family had no issues or complaints.

I did a 2D1N cruise on the Dragon Legend II and was amazed by every single part of the journey. Excellent luxury minibus transport to and from the harbour. Very friendly and welcoming staff during the whole trip! The junk is in an excellent condition and truly matches the pictures you find online. It's a very luxurious cruise in every aspect. The room on the junk was just beautiful and very spacious. Excellent food and plenty of it, you won't be hungry at any time. Reasonable prices for the beverages you have to pay extra. Always free water available. They reduce waste by filling your bottle again when it's empty which is a rarely seen thing in Vietnam i guess 👍

The itinerary included a bit of Halong Bay but most time including the night we spent in Bai Tu Long Bay which is much less crowded and almost free from garbage. The activities like cave visiting and kayaking were well organized and fun to attend. Different small surprises during the cruise like a little concert or magician show performed by staff members.

I can only highly recommend this company and especially the 2D1N cruise on one of the Dragon Legend junks. Next time I would book a 3D2N tour!

This has to be our biggest highlight while traveling Vietnam. From the moment we were picked up at hotel till we were dropped off, were we treated like royalty. The staff is beyond friendly and loved to make good jokes. The 5* meals on our cruise were to die for and being able to watch the mountains as we just cruised by them were unreal. I really recommend taking this cruise when in Vietnam, it's something you will never forget!

Highlight of our trip! This is an amazing part of Vietnam that is unlike most other places I've ever visited. The Limestone features coming out of the Bay are beautiful, breathtaking, and surreal. We opted for one of the smaller boats, the dragon Prince which accommodate up to eight passengers. We lucked out and have only one other family with us so it was a total of 5. For the five of us there was a crew of six, which is a pretty good ratio of passengers to staff. The weather was a bit hazy and overcast, but that's something you can't control. Nonetheless as you can see from the pictures attached it was still a beautiful trip and I highly recommend it to everyone. Our guide Tim, was fantastic, he was very knowledgeable, and provided a lot of insight into the region. The food was outstanding, and nearly every lunch and dinner had four to six courses.

I had a wonderful trip on the Red Dragon boat, which is small intimate boat full of character and really friendly staff. Facilities on this boat are top class, lovely warm shower, comfortable bed and most importantly a friendly cheerful bar man called Cai. I can totally recommend this trip, we took a 3 day tour of the bay and it was fantastic including a BBQ on a tiny little beach hidden away between the giant rocks.

This company has several boats of different sizes, the Red Dragon has a maximum of 11 people which makes it peaceful and ideal for some relaxing.

We had a fantastic cruise with our guide Tai. I’d highly recommend booking a cruise via Indochina Junk. We were a bit overwhelmed with the amount of choice available but what sold IJ to us was the fact that they take you through a less frequented route meaning you’re not surrounded by tons of other tourists. It was a very intimate experience which was well organised. The crew on the boat were fantastic, the food was delicious and definitely more than enough. Try not to bring a large suitcase as it’ll make your travelling experience more comfortable - we just brought what we needed in a small rucksack. We felt really looked after by IJ and had a fantastic time: would strongly recommend!

Had an absolutely amazing time on my Indochina Junk cruise on board the Prince 3. We specifically chose this cruise company for their great communication during the booking process and authentic junk boat experience. Having the ability to choose a smaller boat was something we really enjoyed because the trip felt more private and laidback. Transportation was included from Hanoi to Ha Long and back which was something that made this company unique from many others.

From start to finish the trip was well organized . Our ride to Ha Long was a little late in the morning, but not more than 20 minutes and everything was smooth sailing (no pun intended) from there forward. You’re greeted when you arrive in Ha Long and are escorted through the whole process making you feel welcome.

Our tour guide was Tim, our waiter was Bien, and our chef was Gia. All three plus crew were excellent. Friendly and courteous they were always available to help or chat. We received plenty of information about Ha Long and felt like the experience was very well planned. We weren’t constantly surrounded by crowds or boats and had plenty of calm to enjoy the surroundings. The food was incredible. Every meal was so delicious. They accommodated vegetarians, pescatarians, and meat lovers. Everyone had something amazing to eat. One of the highlights was the food.

Overall I’d highly recommend this company and book them again if I ever return. Thanks to Tim, Bien, and Goa it was an awesome 3D/2N adventure. Well worth the trip.

Top notch! Indochina junk really do offer a great all round package, luxury pick up van in Hanoi, well organised check in for the cruise, hassle free boarding, fantastic rooms with awesome views, great food, interesting events/sightseeing, they do it all very well! But the staff are the best of all! Hard working and very accommodating to all needs.
We did the 2 day/1 night tour. The weather did not play the game for us unfortunately but the team and indochina junk still made it a memorable experience! Thanks Kenny G and team.
I will be back
