Nocturnal Artist

Stumbled upon this place as I was walking around Hoi An and decided to try it because they have white rose dumplings with just shrimp (I can't eat pork). The restaurant is run by a husband and wife duo and they were super friendly. I ordered the white rose dumplings and the fresh spring rolls. Both were delicious! I'm glad I found this place as this was the best place I had a meal at. Would definitely like to try out their other dishes.

Came here late afternoon, mentioned I was interested in a cooking class. Owner offered one despite it being outside the normal time slot. Upstairs seating is really nice, would recommend for homestyle dishes!

My partner and I did a cooking class and had some drinks/food.
We enjoyed the class a lot, it’s a lot better than the commercial ones. We spent so much time together at the market and learned so much about Vietnamese food and culture.

This is a beautiful little gem in the heart of Hanoi. Family run and a little sanctuary after your market shopping.

The husband is an artist and everything inside is painted by him.

There’s a great selection of vegetarian food which is a welcome treat for me.

I sat up on the balcony just watching the world go by. Will definitely be back!

THE BEST FOOD & ART! We were recommended this place from friend’s that visited many years prior and it didn’t disappoint. We stopped by late in the evening and chatted with the family that owns it for hours. They were so lovely. She’s an incredible chef & offers cooking classes and he’s a very talented artist! Some of the best food in Hoi An! We tried the white rose appetizer, bbq pork ribs and chicken in clay pot with some ginger tea.

Such a cool little restaurant, great vibe. They have a very decent number of vegan dishes to choose from. I had the eggplant hotpot with steamed rice and it was so fresh and tasty...just the right amount of black pepper, delicious! I had such a nice chat with Anh, the co-owner and cook. She's just lovely. Definitely recommend.

Very cool place to eat. Very small but cozy restaurant where the owners do everything by themselves and from scratch. Lots of vegan options with very yummy tofu. It has a great vibe

We loved our evening at Nocturnal Artist. The owners are super friendly and the food was delicious. We ordered spring rolls, morning glory, eggplant, tofu and chicken. Anh the chef is so friendly and also offers cooking classes. Her husband is an artist and painted all the artwork in the restaurant, even though cute lanterns hanging from the verandah. We’ll definitely go back!

Great, cozy atmosphere in this small reataurant. The owner is also an artist and the cook, a really friendly person.

We had tasty portions of fish and chicken for dinner. The star of the show was fried wontons, which we liked as our starters.

All in all a lovely experience and the price is good.

Original place with good vibe. Cool artwork all around the place, a lovely family story and good food (can be a bit too peppery). I’ll be dreaming of those fried wontons. You can also purchase unique T-shirts and bags made by the owner here.

The restaurant just opened again. We already tried their delicious food on the other restaurant they have, and we were happy to try this new place out! I would definitely reccomend it (Vietnamese pancakes and tuna in banana leaf, a must!) Ps. The chef also does cooking classes

A terrific experience! Super tasty food and lovely, genuine and friendly service. We visited their old location 3 years ago (pre covid) and the lady (chef) welcomed us back like old friends. Great value, great quality and a wonderful vibe. We sat upstairs and it was just perfect. She even brought out a guitar for my daughter to play. Do yourself a favour and visit this little gem.

Lovely little quirky restaurant with delicious Vietnamese food. I went there after a friend recommended it and I was not disappointed. The restaurant walls have several paintings on display, all by the owner’s husband, this lend a nice atmosphere to the place. I sat upstairs on the balcony and the owner immediately offered to put a fan there for me as it was a very hot and humid evening. I asked for food recommendations and trusted their advice, the food was delicious and the fresh fruit juice was the cherry on top.

I really liked my meal tonight. The owner is super friendly. She can speak English very well and her cooking is excellent. After school her son comes and helps her with the customers. It's a total family restaurant. I wish I was staying longer in Hoi An so I could eat here again.

The food is amazing and the atmosphere even more. Ann prepared us many local appetizers and traditional vietnamese dishes while Lam entertained us with his guitar and by showing his paintings. They are two lovely persons. I highly recommend this place for a drink, a dinner or just for spending some good time

We has wuntun, white rose, cao lo, ban xeo. It was very nice. Owner was very kind. Food was fantastic. Wuntun is very very good-!
