Having been during the day, we thought we would see it at night. What a transformation!
One of the best nights we have had whilst in Vietnam. Laid back and chilled, walking the river front and buying in the market. Lots of stops along the way in some if the nicest cafes and bars. Finished of with a great value foot and leg massage. Perfect.
Huge recommendation.

It's amazing . You can spend the whole day and evening there.
Buy tickets . 150,000 dong per boat for 4 people.
We went for a boat ride around sunset. The time that place looks amazing.
The changes from day to night , the lights the illumination. Made that place like a fairytale movie.
Find some street food and souvenirs after sunset beside the road.

Lovely Experience, Starts around 6.
150k Dong for 2 ppl for Lantern Boating. it closes around 9 and after 9 opposite side of the river gets wild.
So party people after 9 should go apposite side of river.

This market comes alive after about 7:00 pm until about 10:00 pm. There are many carts selling souvenirs, street food, children's toys, etc. There are many shops selling clothes and other goods. The atmosphere is lively and festive. There are boats with colorful lanterns on the river. It does make a spectacular sight. The pictures don't do justice to it.

What you would expext it to be and more. Buzzing with tourists, boasts, lanterns, cafes and restaurants, and sellers of everything you can imagine, this place is pulsating with life. Beautiful to watch and beautiful to exprience. Just please don't put anything in the water because there is already too much garbage - that includes the little boat candles 🫶 keep it clean so it can last longer

A nice enclave of old buildings that is nicely restored or preserved for all to view. It is worth the Unesco heritage certification, and the commerce is vibrant.

The trader will politely market their trade but not too harsh, so it feel just right. They will ask while you walk along but will not be too persistent.

The food varieties are many and mild in taste which suit many travellers.

A truly pleasant visit.

Beautiful old town with a lot of restaurants, bars & shops along the river bank. It is so delightful & picturesque at night when all the lanterns are lit up all over the old town. It is a must do for anyone staying over at Hoi An. There is a night market here selling all kinds of food, souvenirs, bags & clothes. One thing to note is that bargaining is necessary & one should not feel compelled to buy. One should only buy when you think the final price is what you are willing to pay for the item.

Great place to visit, went there around 11am, walked around historic buildings, watched the change to night time from a bar, more walking and shopping followed by a great meal watching the lanterns. Fabulous day, can't wait to go back!

Hoi An is one of the most beautiful places to visit in Vietnam. a real tourist town with very interesting streets and many shops with various products. prices in stores are touristic, but you can always pay cheaper. if you approach and ask for the price, they will hardly let you leave without buying.
many leather shops and leather products that can be bought cheaply.

Must visit place in Hoi An...the market is right across the dragon bridge...Everything you expect from a night market in a classic tourist location - hawkers market where you can buy everything from toys, magnets, souvenirs, lanterns...the market lane is extremely beautiful and bustling with tourists, pubs and lots of food vendors...the market is open till 10 pm

Hoi An night market is just not a market for tourists. It is a complete experience of the local culture, which the local administration has evidently worked well to retain.
Shopping is good if you like to bargain.
But the main attraction is the river side which is lined with pubs and restaurants. The entire street is lit up with lanterns.
The boatride in evening is an experience of its own with lanterns all over. One struggles to capture the real essence of it in camera.

This is the famous Lantern street of Hoi An!

Ample of shopping opportunity here.
This is a bargain marketyou can buy clothes, bags, souvenirs and lanterns.

The lantern vendors will not bargain much but others will.

There are a lot of food and drink carts on the street next to the river.

There are clubs with good music and outdoor as well as indoor sitting.

There is also option of boating with some lanterns in the boat which is beautiful experience.

Simply incredible - the river view with the boats, lights, and architecture. The bustling streets, delicious foods, quirky souvenir stalls. A unique experience that I would recommend to all visiting the area! Do walk further away from the main street for great shopping deals!

Highlight of our tour. This area comes to life in the late afternoon and continues until late into the night. There is a fantastic atmosphere with lights throughout the market and the lanterns on the boats in the river. Quite crowded when we were there in August which is supposed to be the low season.

It’s literally a magical place to go and visit during the evening. Set along both sides of a river and adorned with thousands of lanterns, it looks like a place out of a fairytale. There are amazing restaurants everywhere and I had the best meal of Vietnam there (look up on tripadvisor). Overall a great place to visit and enjoy the scenic beauty.

Many souvenir shops are there with good variety but do negotiate before buying anything .
