Red Gecko Restaurant

This is an excellent family run restaurant with the freshest seafood and very good prices. The family servers as well as the cooks go all out to make sure that you get the best quality and that all your dietary choices are correct. I loved it so much the first night when I ordered the grilled prawns and seafood fried rice that I returned the second night for the lobster that customers were enjoying. It was definitely the most amazing warm water lobster I have ever eaten. The grilled eggplant was also delicious.
I think this is a must go to restaurant for anyone wanting great food at very fair prices.

This is a phenomenal Vietnamese restaurant in the heart of the city. Every dish we had was bursting with delicious flavors and was super fresh. But what set it apart was the service and the warm hospitality of the family who owns the Red Gecko. We were even given a taste of the snails that they cooked for their own family meal. I highly recommend BBQ Whole Fish. The Papaya Salad is by far the BEST I have ever had. The Grilled Eggplant and the Morning-glory sides are a must have. The Seafood Soup is light and delicate. I would definitely come back, probably again today to try other items on the menu...

We so enjoyed a magnificent lobster dinner. Service was delightful... they did all the work of releasing the lobster ftom its shell. Good value, wonderful dinner. Would definitely come again.

Friendly staff and good food! Just like the other comments say, the food here tastes more homely/homecooked. Don’t mistake the staff’s friendliness for nosiness, they’re just making sure you know how to best enjoy their food 😄

Great seafood for 2 people. We got sautéed squid and shrimps and a grilled lobster, all fresh in the stand and wonderfully seasoned. For drinks a smoothie and a beer for a total of 900.000 VND for the dinner. The servers are very friendly and the place is very close to the local market, all in all very recommended!

We only ordered these two dishes and got rice and salad as complimentary. This morning glory salad and the complimentary salad might be my favorites! Definitely a place to enjoy a meal in Hoi An 🫶

You will feel like family. The cocktails are the best in town .. really. All the food that we have tried over several visits has been very good. Please come here, we love them. But save us a table.

We came for the lobster originally, it was sold out that night already. We decided to stay and had a great experience. Everything was very tasty and the BBQed fish a real treat. Super friendly owner and professional service.

Without a doubt the red geko produses some of the best food in Hoi an. The service is amazing and the owners and workers are lovely.
The stuffed squid with pork mincemeat is actually one of the nicest dishes I have ever ate.

We stopped by for drinks by chance and we were craving seafood when it was dinner time. This was the best place in the area to have fresh seafood and sit comfortably. It was also recommended to us by people we met earlier. It’s a family owned business with hard working people. I would come here again if I go to Hoi An again.

Nice family-run business. I had the lobster, a bit more expensive than street vendors, but came with cocktail, rice, green mango salad, and fruit (700,000). They accept credit card, which is a bonus.

Supper yummy. I highly recommend this place. The BBQ chicken was delicious, no bones, sliced with yummy spices. This place is family run and I think you get to meet everybody. A daughter sat us, her brother joked with us a lot and took our order, the father cooked my chicken and served it. Great experience.

Authentic vietnamese food! We ordered the beef hotpot enough for 2/3 people and was delicious. Lots of veg and good quality meet. Noodles on the side and staff offered more but we had enough already. Really nice staff

Good and delicious food prepared on the barbecue, friendly family/staff what does everything in their power to make you feel comfortable and serve you good food.

The lobster was amazing!! Caught fresh and cooked right on the bbq! The staff were so friendly and felt very welcomed! Definitely recommend ! Other menu options also looked great and very affordable! Cocktails are cheap too!

We stopped in for the lobster and we’re thoroughly satisfied, the lobster was cooked to perfection, and was the best price per kilogram that we had seen since arriving in Vietnam. Highly recommend stopping in if you are looking for some seafood while visiting Hoi An.
