Stepping into Pho Tung felt less like entering an eatery and more like visiting family. The uncle, aka the owner, poured his heart into each bowl of pho, and his careful hands were a promise of the deliciousness to come. The lady radiated kindness, at first brought us two dishes of salad and asked if we knew how to mix them, and ended up even taking the time to personally mix the accompanying salad with a flourish. While pho is not typically my go-to Vietnamese dish, Pho Tung's unique take, with its mildly sweet broth, crunchy satay peanuts, and perfectly dressed salad, won me over completely. If you are in Hoi An for breakfast, do not miss this gem - it is a meal warmed by both the broth and the kindness of the owners.

Delicious gem hidden in an alleyway. Locals were eating their breakfast here in the morning. Cheap (40,000 Dong for ‘special’ pho) and some of the best pho I’ve had so far. One of the ladies even showed me how to use the condiments for the beansprouts and mint on the side. Go before it gets overrun by tourists!

A humble little eatery hidden in an alley to have a very clean and homey bowl of pho for breakfast. We walked in here and saw lots of locals eating their breakfast in what looked like someone’s home. They gave us an English menu, so we ordered their beef pho and chicken pho, and it came with a side salad. We mistakenly assumed to put the side veggies straight in our pho but the owner came around and gave us a new set, showed us which sauces/ toppings to add and told us to mix it together before eating it as a side. It was delicious!

Overall such a lovely experience and a delicious breakfast.

The best example of a Hoi An style pho. Lighter in broth and a perfect balanced blend of salty and sweet, topped with green papaya and pickled onions. This was well worth the trip for breakfast.

One of our favorite pho places! We came around
The time they were about to close, so it was quiet already. The owners love sharing how they make their secret peanut spice and put in love and passion when making their pho. They also showed us the best way to mix the dressing for salad.

The beef was so tender and soup is delicious. Highly recommend!

Thanks to Son Hoi An Boutique Hotel and Spa for recommending this place. It was hard to find but absolutely delicious. The soup broth is what made it special for me. Be sure to get there early as they close at noon.

Where locals go for breakfast pho, our host Huong from Tuong Tailor brought us here to experience true Hoi An beef pho with greens and poached egg, as explained in the photos. Delicious!

Amazing amazing pho, our favourite in all of Vietnam so far. Our taxi driver recommended this place for good pho, they're in a little alley way in Old Town, Hoi An. Definitely worth the walk off the main roads though.

Worth the wander to find this place. A different take on pho than I've ever had in Vietnam but I think it's nice. Crushed peanuts! Who would have thought.
It seems very local so just sit back and let them explain what you're supposed to do with the greens and condiments :)

This restaurant ist one of the best pho that I’ve eaten in Hoi An. The people working there and the owner are friendly. They show us how to mix the salad plate.

Really nice cute and local place. Its an outdoor space and the Pho is really really good and super cheap. They also give you a side salad which I recommend asking them to season if you haven't made your own before which the staff kindly did for us, the fried bread is also really good (it has meat on though and not veggie!)

We went here for breakfast twice on our trip. Lovely little local shop just off the main street in old town. Family run and service was incredible. The owner even came over and taught us how to make the salad. Great pho and amazing value for money. Definitely try if you're in Hoi An

Zooming through the narrow lanes of the old town, I arrived at Phở Tùng, a quaint restaurant nestled near the bustling center yet tucked away from the chaos. The calming atmosphere guided me to my table, and as I closed my eyes, a fragrant aroma enveloped me.

The soul of Pho resides in its broth, sweet and clear, with subtle yellow tones that harmonize with the warm pastel yellow walls of the restaurant.

With the first sip, the indescribable flavor unfolds a cultural narrative, briefly transporting me. As I opened my eyes, I found myself surrounded by friendly faces; that singular aroma and taste became a memorable, spiritually awakening moment.

Cảm ơn bạn, Phở Tùng, cho trải nghiệm tinh thần này 🙏🏻

Personally it's the best. As a local I grew up having this phở for breakfast almost every day. The taste is unique and unlike any other. The owners, who are a senior couple, are really nice and welcoming. They serve the food with care and love. Give this phở a try. I promise it won't disappoint.

Best pho you will get in Hoi An and one of the best places for pho period. The owners are an elderly couple that are very nice, something that im sure you will see said by most reviewing this place. The price is cheap, they should be charging more honestly, it's just tucked away from one of the main streets and is really a hidden gem, it feels like you have been invited into someone's backward for a meal. The soup base is the star here with a great distinct flavour, the noodles themselves are good but not great but the combination of condiments and other ingredients that you add to the meal (the owners will show you how) really create something that is unique. Hoi an is charming place but this place and their owners you will definately remember.

Yum! Great traditional Pho for the area. Tastes different to northern Vietnam Pho and more greenery. Delicious! Great friendly service, with nice outdoor area to sit. The servers speak some English too. We had breakfast here. 30,000 VND for a bowl

Local family run business serving incredibly delicious Phở. We went here during the morning of one of our days in Hoi An and I couldn’t recommend this place more. We ordered the Phở bò special and it costed 40k per dish. The dish was tasty and the owners were very lovely. One of the owners came over and helped us out and showed her way of garnishing and eating the dish (different to how I have experienced the dish being garnished in other areas of Vietnam). The other owner also offered to take a photo of our group when he saw one of us taking photos. If you want to come here make sure you come in the morning because the restaurant closes at 12pm.

Amazing pho, we went everyday since we discovered this hidden gem. But even better than the food was meeting the family that runs the restaurant, truly kind and wonderful people.

I just regret not asking for a picture with them the last day!

Wish you all the best
