The Purple Hue Homestay

The Purple Hue Homestay is a perfect place to stay while exploring Hue! It is within walking distance of the Imperial Citadel and many delicious local restaurants. Tinh and her family are wonderful hosts. When we arrived she sat with us and gave us great recommendations for where to eat and what to see. She also helped us out greatly when we had to change our flights back to Hanoi by letting us use her phone to make calls and giving us helpful advice! The building itself is beautiful, uniquely designed with tasteful wood and glass features. The room was perfectly clean, comfortable and bright. It is located in a quiet field and feels very local and unique. Highly recommend as your home base while in Hue!

The property is within walking distance of citadel, so it’s easy to explore the area around. The host Tinh is super welcoming, she gave us some recommendations on local cafes and places to eat . I stayed here for a week, and it was definitely one of the best experiences, really felt like home. The room itself is cozy, spacious bathroom, and more importantly everything is clean and well-maintained.

Coming to stay here felt more like living in a shared apartment — there are only 3 rooms in the entire place, so it’s a very quiet and peaceful place! Living inside of the imperial city was a great way to experience a more local pace of life. The hosts were so helpful with providing recommendations as well.

The place itself was super clean, modern, and comfortable. My only wish was that there were side lamps for dimmer lighting and extra blankets for colder nights. The AC unit does have a heating option, but it took some time to get the room to heat up.

Cute building exterior and friendly hosts. They are also fluent in english, so communication is convenient. Thanks to them, I took a good rest. It was a bit of a demrit that it was far from downtown. But the inner condition is really clean and well-maintained. If I come back, I want to stay with my friends for a long time. Thank you for two days!

Tinh was incredibly friendly, welcoming and hospitable. Her food recommendations were so on point and yummy (ask her for her favourite com hen/bun hen, baby clam rice and noodle, place! the bun hen ended up being one of our fav meals of the whole trip - we are so grateful!)

She was very responsive as she lives right behind the property. Check in and check out was also flexible.

Just note that for the ground room floor, the toilet is not en-suite. It is however right outside the room door and very clean and beautiful.

The property is designed incredibly tastefully while still retaining a cosy feel.

We loved staying here!

Inviting hosts, they gave us a summary of the city and suggested places to eat. Clean and comfortable accommodation in a quiet and good location. We really enjoyed our stay at Hue thank you.

The only regret I have is not staying longer!
Situated a short walk from the Imperial City and surrounded by good food and cafés.
Tinh had wonderful suggestions and the booking/confirmation process was simple and efficient.
This homestay was a perfect opportunity to experience history, culture and a friendly and happy community!

Everything about the home stay was great. The house look great and the room was clean and full of light.
Location in the old town which is quiet and has more local life is also recommended.
Last but not least, what can we say about Tihn. She’s lovely and helped us enjoy our stay on Hue. From great restaurant recommendations , to arrange drivers and motorbikes or help us plan our next steps of the trip.
I wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else if I return to Hue

Our original booking was to stay in Hue for one night. However, we fell in love with city and this cozy homestay so much that we ended up staying for 3 nights in total!

The Purple Hue Homestay exceeded our expectations on all levels. This place truly made us feel at home and Tinh was a perfect host. Right from the moment we arrived, she made us feel incredibly welcomed and helped us with all things required (food recommendations, language tips, sim card assistance, transport assistance, etc.) to get settled and explore Hue. Plus, she constantly reached out over messages to ensure we have everything we need. I would also like to take a moment to thank Tinh. On our last day, she helped ensure that we got our laundry done and arranged last minute cab when we were running late for our bus.

Coming to the homestay itself, the rooms and the bathrooms are top-notch with an incredibly high standard of cleanliness (something which is very important to us). We were worried that the rooms may be cramped based on the online pictures, but thankfully that was not the case at all. The room size is good, and we were very comfortable. The minimal aesthetics of the homestay and access to the beautiful kitchen is something which I really appreciated as well.

Would definitely recommend and will surely return when visiting Vietnam again. :)

Lovely homestay hosted by a wonderful and warm couple.They even recommended us great vegetarian eateries, booked cabs to take us there.
Also the other best thing is its location- Situated right next to the imperial citadel close to the old part of Hue.

Wonderful place, very tasteful interior, and most importantly very helpful host!!! The host was almost like a big sister to us: from scooter over restaurants and bars to trip planing - she managed everything swiftly ;)) absolute recommendation!
PS: they have a pretty neat craft beer bar downtown!!!

I wish we could have stayed longer. Purple Homestay has been one of our favorite hotels in our 2 week trip. It's beautiful, clean, peaceful and close to amazing coffeeshops and restaurants. Tinh gave us fantastic food recommendations that kept us busy the whole time.

Brand new amazing nature friendly home, a quiet place with everything clean.
The hosts are so kind, friendly and helpful. They helped us organize the city tour, booking and even paying in advance the bus to Hoi An.
We had a very good breakfast with home made products.

We stayed here for 4 nights and the family was so welcoming and kind. The room was spotless and breakfast options were brilliant, especially as you could cook for yourself whenever you liked. I would fully recommend staying here when in Hue. Location was also good, away from the backpacker strip by within walking distance of everything in Hue.

A true homestay in an authentic local area, 8 minutes walk to the King Palace. The host are super friendly and helpful, the grandma is very caring and always try to feed you with different things. I feel just like I am at my grandma house during the stay. Definitely recommended

Absolutely stunning house! Bright, clean and beautiful. We were greeted warmly, offered loads of suggestions for local restaurants and places to visit, and were offered the most delicious Vietnamese breakfast the next day. Thank you!
