Worth the trip out of the city, about 30 min drive. We hired a taxi and went around to three major tombs. We bought to combo tickets with the palace. It was very beautiful even though the plumarias were not in bloom. Quiet with no one there except us, most of the time.

Extraordinary, just impressive! It is not a must but still a good and beautiful site to experience. I especially liked the very detailled statues with their impressive details.

We took a Grab taxi from the city center for about 130k Dong

Beautiful space. We liked how this one was more linear than the other mausoleums we visited, so you were sure you didn’t miss anything. Well kept and beautiful landscape.

Beautiful architecture and history!

If you get a good guide it's extra interesting but if you're there for the architecture and not the history, you can spend an enjoyable hour here!

Tip: Whenever you see a red box (like a large UK telephone box) in a corner of a large square (usually in front of a temple/Palace) inside you will find a dog/lion like animal that's actually a unicorn. The unicorn is one of 4 sacred animals. Dragon = king/god. Unicorn = protection. I forgot what the Turtle and phoenix represent 😅.

Beautiful construction in a natural setting that is nicely kept and maintained.
This is a UNESCO world heritage site in Hue. An interesting place to know about Vietnam history and culture in general and Hue in particular.

Part of a larger city tour and a very interesting story about this tomb. I highly suggest tour with a guide.

So. Worth. It.

It is one of the most beautiful tombs that Huế managed to preserve. Around 2-4pm was a little too sunny and hot, but there is absolutely no one around.

Easily my favourite tomb in and around Hue. It is a 25 minute drive from the city but we’ll worth it as it is much calmer (far fewer tourists) than the other tombs.
It rained quite heavily while we were there, but found it really peaceful sitting inside one of the building and watching the rain.

The gardens and the temples within this magnificent compound will give you a sense of tranquility.

I really enjoyed visiting this tomb. A large complex that is still in good condition.
I just feel that 70k for the audio guide is a little expensive...
This is definitely one of the most beautiful tombs around!
Make sure you buy the combo ticket, it is cheaper than to buy an individual ticket every time.

Amazing architecture! Our personal tour guide, who accompanied us, was able to provide us with further information about the location's history. It is situated in a fairly large region. There is a tonne of shelter and wonderful locations for photographs.

A gorgeous place where you can come learn more about the glory of imperial Vietnam, spend some time in contemplation, and pay respects to one of the most significant rulers of the land before colonialism. You can even buy fruits right as they are being harvested by the caretakers of the park.

Quieter and less visited than many other tombs in the area. The grounds and temples here are just as beautiful. I appreciated how flat the ground was here, a lot less climbing than at other tombs. We might have skipped this one if we hadn’t already bought the number four ticket that included the entrance here. So glad we did come, this is one of my favorites.

Very interesting tour of a beautiful, serene and picturesque place. It's February and it's even hot now so I don't know how anyone could visit in the summer. Bring your umbrella and sunscreen!
The grounds are VERY well kept and I was happy not to see litter everywhere! The workers are very very nice!
This is a wonderful place to learn about but also to take photos. I was able to rent a tour guide headphones 🎧 so I learned about Minh Mang who was a very good leader of his people. (Although he had 149 wives and 500 children 😅) The souvenir shop sells special tonic that is a replication of a mixture of herbs that the King used for virility!

The oldest out of the 3 mausoleums, this is probably my favourite attraction in Hue. The simplest in terms of architecture but the ground is huge and the place has irresistible charms. The stone obelisk gives off mysterious vibes. The setting of the tomb within the lake and the orchestra of the critters made it the most peaceful place, perfect for a final resting place of a king. This is forever etched in mind as the epitome of calm and tranquility. As this is the first Mausoleum I visited on the day, there were not many visitors so it felt like we had the place to ourselves.

Visited in torrential rain but it didn't matter - it was still beautiful. Really lovely symmetry that makes everything so calm even with streams of water.

One of the larger tombs in Hue. Worth a visit alone just to walk around the large grounds, filled with many mature trees and fish ponds.

Although the dynasty is effectively Victorian, this particular tomb is very traditional and well worth visiting.

This mausoleum is best experienced on a tour so you can understand and appreciate all of the design aspects of the tomb. It has tree cover, but I would recommend bringing bug repellent. There are free toilets and a couple of small restaurants and gift shops outside the ticket gate.

It's one of my favourite thoombs in Hue. It us more distant, but it's quieter, not too many tourists are going there, it's spacious, surrounded by the river and lakes. If you come before closing time, before 5 pm, you can witness the green parrots singing and nesting. It has a great atmosphere.
