I recently visited the Tomb of Khai Dinh in Hue and was absolutely captivated by its stunning architecture. The blend of Eastern and Western styles creates a unique and majestic atmosphere. The intricate mosaics inside are breathtaking, showcasing incredible craftsmanship. It's a steep climb to the top, but the views and the historical significance of the site make it entirely worth it. A must-visit for anyone interested in Vietnam's rich history and cultural heritage.

It is a really impressive mausoleum, not only for the extension, but also for the details around the architecture and the design. It has a beautiful decoration, as well as some nice surroundings with green valleys in the background.

It's a bit touristy, but it's worth the trip!

Very beautiful mausoleum in the countryside of Hue, very beautiful and the detail inside the tomb was incredible, well worth the visit even just for the views
Highly recommend hiring a moped and driving up but grab taxis work well too
We paid 150,000 each for the tickets
There were also some cafes and shops outside if you need a drink or food

The building and the view from the top is beautiful. It has a French influence in its architecture. The entry ticket is 150000vnd per person. Has space for parking as well.

Firstly, this place is amazing. If you love architecture or anything old you should see the mausoleum of Emperor Khai Dinh. I recommend getting the combo tickets which are about 800k VND (I could be wrong here with the price) if you plan to see all the tombs and the Imperial City. But if you dont want to see them all then youre better off buying them separately at 150k-200k VND each. It should take around 30 minutes to get through this mausoleum and the next tomb is Ming Mang which is nearby (did not get a chance to see this tomb but drove by it). Easy access to both using mototbike. The Tomb of Gai Long is a bit further away, but still accessible and features a beautiful lake and a huge complex with multiple tombs and temples.

Must visit sites if visiting hue imperial city. It is about 20mins ride from hue city. There are about a 100 steps you need to climb to reach the tomb. be careful as steps can be slippery in the rains. The amazing architecture and intricate detailing make it worth the climb.

If you intend to visit many of the tombs and even the citadel your much better off buying a group ticket we spent 2x the amount visiting everywhere.

This tomb was great inside.

An architecturally interesting Mausoleum built in the 1900s by one of Vietnam’s least favorite emperors. Worth a visit if you’re interested in architecture, but the historicity of the site is less than some of the other mausoleums in the area.

Very impressive tomb of the 12th Emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty. Its one of the most beautiful mausoleum in Hue and worth to visit it. The entry fee for adults is 150.000 VND/person. The tomb has a western (french) architectural influences and it looks like a castle. The building on the top where Khai Dinh is buried is outstanding with an impressive focus of details. The view from the top is also very nice.

This is the most impressive thomb in Hué, according to us even more impressive that the Old City. If you have limited amount of time, choose this one. It's build an a slope, so you also have a beautiful view!

Got absolutely soaked riding here but this tomb was worth it..really impressive and totally unexpected. Walking up the stairs in the pouring rain was very atmospheric. Hardly anyone else around.

Wow, this is a mausoleum worth its name. Khan Ding was an important emperor of the Nguyen dynasty albeit in a relatively recent era. This mausoleum can hold its own among the grandeur of Mughal mausoleums of India, which are from another era.

If only I had more time to spend at this location. The buildings and artefacts are very well preserved.

Although Khai Dinh wasn’t a great emperor but the mausoleum shows us the richness of VN at that point in time.
Lots of culture and history to be learnt of the 11th emperor and of the VN death processions which is very close to SE Asia and southern parts of China.

Not as big as other Maosoleum but sure it's the most beautiful one. Worth to spend around an hour here to appreciate it's architecture.

Our favorite location in Hue, and what a stunning location it is. The dragon carvings on the stairs are exquisite, with such careful attention to detail, and offer a wonderful view from the top when you ascend them to the tomb when you arrive. In addition to the soldiers, there are also horses and elephants guarding the tomb on either side, which is something we really liked. With the most magnificent mosaics all throughout, the tomb interior is just stunning. A truly amazing location that is well worth a trip.

This is the best tomb in Hue in my opinion. The place is not so big but the landscape, the architecture, the design and the story of this tomb is very interesting. Be careful of the weather and the sunburn you'll get. it was very hot but it worthwhile. I recommend searching about the emperor while visiting the tomb and all the art will make sense!
