Bamboo Forest

This Forest really surprised us. We expected a small patch of bamboo; instead it was real, lots trees and it was dark in some places, like a real bamboo Forest! What a pleasant surprise, especially after the long hard search to find it.

We actually would never have found it had it not been for some friendly Black Hmong locals who helped us when we got lost and our motorcycle fell into a ditch trying to go up the very steep narrow path to the entrance trail to the forest. We were very grateful and so did tip them / buy a craft work, not much but we usually don’t buy any souvenirs so hopefully it helped them.

I highly recommend going here but warn you it’s very tricky to find. Best to let a local help you if possible.

I loved walking through the bamboo forest. It was the rainy season and some parts were really slippery, but it was fun.

When visited the Bamboo Forest while it was it a little bit cloudy. It had a really mystic atmosphere and we really enjoyed it.

No bugs because it was raining. Muddy but not a problem.

the forest is there but you have to climb almost into the middle of the mountain. i was there at 35C and almost died :D

Make sure you go on your hike with a local Hmong guide. I found mine through Sapa Sisters and got the chance to explore this amazing place.

Expérience trekking dans cette forêt magnifique esprit zen. Faites attention au niveau de la marche prévenez de très bonne chaussures et non pas de air force one comme moi. Sol très boueux et hyper glissant.

날씨가 좋지 않아 길이 진흙투성이라 오르기 힘들었지만, 만족했습니다!

More of a large patch of bamboo trees than a forest to be honest, but the trek here and the surrounding landscape was amazingly beautiful, especially the young animal life.

Muddy path especially after a rainfall which Sapa gets most of the days. Pure and untouch forest. A waterfall awaits shortly at the end of the path and further down a long hanging bridge. Recommend get a guide as finding the forest entrance can be task.
