Mama Shu Shu Homestay

The experience in mama shu shu will stay in my heart forever. They were so aware and caring of my comfort and well being at all times. The tour hikes were amazing with beautiful views, if you get the opportunity of coming to this family’s guesthouse do it with no doubts 🤍

Absolutely loved my stay here. The treks were great and we even climbed Fansipan. The food was amazing and they even made some vegan spring rolls specially for me

Really enjoyed my stay here. The food is really delicious and the trek I did with Mama Shushu was perfect. It's a little bit outside of the city but you get a great view and peaceful and quiet atmosphere.

Mama shu shu is a great experience. We travelled for two days with the amaxing Yaya, mama Shu Shu's daugter, she is smart, welcoming, professional and really amazing! 10 people including children, they gave us once in a lifetime experience! If you come to homestay dont expect a 5 stars resort, it is a pretty basic stay. But mama Shu Shu's place is really relativly comfterble. Food is very gokd, places we hiked with Yaya where breathtakung, the area around Sapa is beaitiful! We were laughing and talking a lot with her family, and learned much about their life and way of living. The changed what was needed if it was too hard and really took care of us carefully. Must do activity if you are around Sapa.

Really beautiful experience! The area is stunning and Shu Shu and her family are really nice, generous and welcoming. Their food was amazing too. Cosy house, and an affordable experience. I highly recommend :)

The owner is very nice and the food is great. They are so friendly, the hike was challenging but they helped me go through it. Amazing hospitality and host.

The best homestay ever!! Mama Shu Shu and her family are the most friendly and funny people we have met in Vietnam! Her sister took us on a treck on our first day through the beautiful scenery surrounding Sapa. We spent the night in Mama Shu Shu’s house where we felt so welcomed by the whole family, and got fed very well, including popcorn made from their own freshly picked corn. Mama Shu Shu took us on a walk the following day and she is so funny we were laughing all day long! Her husband then dropped us to our bus, and helped us out to communicate with the bus company when we got delayed due to road works. The most helpful family ever, a must visit when in Vietnam 💛

Took 2 days with Mama Shushu home stay, Yaya is charming , and told us many interesting things about their Yaswant tribe, and family .Food was great

We absolutely loved our time at Mama Shu Shu’s Homestay. They are the most friendliest and welcoming family. Shu Shu’s daughter Mimi led us on treks, while also cooking and looking after us during our stay. Thanks Mimi!! The accomodation at the homestay was both very clean and nice. The family’s bubbly and fun personality ensured we had a great time during our stay.
A definite highlight of our Vietnam trip which we highly recommend.

The most magical place.. Staying with Mama Shu Sho and her family was a real privilege! The most lovely hospitable people, delicious food and the most amazing atmosphere. The trekking was amazing. Accommodating and flexible to bus times as well.

we stayed at mama shu sho‘s place for one night and it simply was amazing! She and the whole family are such lovely people helping you in every situation and they all have a very good knowledge about traditions and the nature. Also the place is very clean and really beautiful. Don‘t forget to drink a little happy water with her 😜We also helped her in the kitchen and got a nice overview of the used herbs and traditional meals they prepared. Highly recommended place - don‘t miss it. 😊

No need to look any further for a trekking/guide/homestay in the Sapa region, because with YaYa (and family) you are in the right hands!

We were looking for a 2 days, 1 overnight stay trekking tour. Preferably to start from Sapa. A little overwelmd by all the different tour-operators/guides there are, we eventually decided to go with Yaya and it was so good.

We contacted her on whatsapp about a tour the next day and she responded really quickly. She had a clear explanation about what the tour would look like and what was included. The price was very good compared to others, and included the (bag) pick-up from hotel, trek to village, food (lunch, diner, breakfast, lunch), happy waters, trekking the second day and a drop off at the busstation. Personally, we were looking for more challenging routes, but she can help you create a plan that suits your wishes. We changed plans for the second day and Yaya was really creative in finding a new route.

Yaya is super friendly, funny and warm. From the moment we met her, we felt free to ask anything that came to mind. Her english is very good which makes the questions more easy. She had a tons of knowledge about the region, and especially her village and people (the black hmong).

During our stay we got to meet her mothern Mama Shushu, who provides the trekkings aswell, speaks english just as good and loves company during the evenings (along with some happy waters 😉), but also her father, sister and grandparents. We visited their grandparents houses, ate vegetables and sugar(?!) right of the field and saw a beautiful sunset from a spot nearby their house. The rooms are clean, the (shower)water is hot and the food is delicous.

Mama Shu Sho was an amazing homestay host. She told us interesting stories on our trek, was a good laugh and provided great food for dinner and breakfast. Her daughter Yaya took us on a trek the next day which was also amazing. Lovely family and home.
