Dong Khanh Emperor Tomb

Not a popular tomb complex but it’s beautiful. We had the place to ourselves at 8.30am. Lots to see. Restoration work was happening in one area. There are several tombs here, spread out - just follow the brick paths. Nice temple too with red and gold interior. 50,000 Dong entrance fee.

Wonderful tomb restoration after many years. This is such a great attraction (Royal Tombs) of the Nguyen Dynasty. Dong Khanh is the 9th emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty. He ruled the country under the French control so his royal tomb architecture is the blend of Vietnamese and French features.

Rented a moped in Hue to get to this location. Very easy ride even in the rain. This was one of the locations that our hotel recommended and it was fantastic. Beautiful stone carvings here.

Small temple, can be visited in half an hour. Cost 100.000 D to visit

Quite small compared to other tomb in Hue but really nice. The entrace fee is 50k/person.

This is one of the most interesting sites I've visited in Hue, and actually found this tomb more fascinating than the Palace and Citadel. There's a unique style and architecture to this place that really testifies to how much the French had entwined themselves into Vietnamese life. French culture appears not so much fused as forced upon Vietnam's extent, ancient culture. The setting for the tomb is remarkable, absolutely picturesque.

Underrated, included in Tu Duc, very nice

Not one of the popular attraction but defintely a must go if you happened to visit MAUSOLEUM OF EMPEROR TU DUC. smaller scale in comparison to those popular tombs and lesser crowded.

The largest of the tombs sites. Many buildings and areas to explore with historical artefacts. A lovely area to sit and think and get out of the rain. WC's clearly signed at entrance and far side of site. Street food outside and souvenirs.

This tomb unfortunately is often mistaken with Tu Duc and Khai Dinh. Most photos show the wrong place. The real Dong Khanh tomb is situated slightly behind Tu Duc, you can walk or drive a couple minutes there from Tu Duc parking lot. The entrance is free, the tomb is very old and in my opinion the most interesting in this area.

Beautiful surroundings with no mad rush of tourists.

Quiet, no one else here, free and just beautiful. Breathtaking!
