Indochine Palace

Old school interior, bit bombastic. Clean, spacious rooms, good breakfast and a large pool. Friendly staff.
Location, about 15 min walk to the tourist center.
The hotel might need a touch of paint here and there, however still in good and clean condition.

The hotel is old world Vietnam, which is a good thing, only problem is it is a bit old looking, dusty/musty looking but I like it. the breakfast is very good with good Asian and Western choices, entertainment in the lobby most nights in a pleasant atmosphere overlooking the impressive pool. Staff especially is 5 Star, they checked us in with personal care. Joy (perfect English) sat us down and provided a detailed briefing on what to do in Hue and where we can get dinner, the Citadel and other. He checks back with us often to ensure satisfaction. They have gone out of their way to please. Two hostesses, Mary and Mau, were exceptional. They knew what we wanted and prepared. On entry to breakfast they took my to-go cup and the barrister immediately went to work on our Americanos, delivered to our table. Our room was wonderful, beautiful local design except the suite has a strange configuration where the bathroom is part of the bedroom and the separate living room is not completely separated as there are 2 sliding glass doors with a third of the opening not closed (only a wood gridding)...looks good but not functional. I asked if there was better and to please, they upgraded us to a 2 bedroom suite. They aim to please. Concierge was fantastic, jumping at the chance to help, same with front desk (Ann). Fitness room is adequate but a bit small. Pool is huge in a beautiful space. Spa has locker room, showers, steam/sauna and massage$. Large supermarket just up the street, very useful for a longer stay, the Citadel is about a mile walk. The "downtown" tourist area is about a 1/2 mile walk, so if that is what you like, maybe not a good location for you but we don't like to stay in the central tourist areas anywhere. We go to local street restaurants and are more satisfied there then the tourist restaurants which are overpriced for lower quality food (just looks good). Overall a very good experience, important for someone staying 12 days as we did.

Excellent hotel with great service and breakfast! Staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Rooms are good with strong shower. Aside from internet being a little slower and bed a tad too soft for my back, but everything else is perfect. Its also next to the supermarket and many touristy spots eg citadel, walking street etc are within walking distance.

The most amazing hotel we visited on our trip to Vietnam. Everything was perfect, food was amazing, facilities were amazing.

Staff were the most obliging & very polite. This is everything you would think of when you think of a 5 star hotel!

While I am not a world traveller I have travelled a lot. I have never stayed in a place quite like this. The service is exceptional, the facilities are world class, the food is excellent, it truly deserves 5 stars! If you stay, look out for "Chi" She is unbelievably helpful and was instrumental in making our stay an absolute pleasure. Vietnam in general and Hue in particular should be on your bucket list and if they are the Indochine Plalace is the best place to stay. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This was one of our best stays in Vietnam. Very beautiful and clean room. We left the hotel very early in morning during the flood and the concierge was so helpful and made a stressful situation better.

Really lovely hotel and friendly staff. The hotel is well decorated, the beds are super comfortable, and the location is very central. 15 minute walk to the walking streets. Would definitely recommend!

Incredible hotel, the best I've ever stayed in. The staff is very attentive and helpful, the rooms are gorgeous and clean, those are many amenities including the option for high tea (which is surprising affordable) and listening to jazz in the lounge at night. We stayed here for one night only and live in the US but really would love to come back again.

Such a lovely oasis of comfort and luxury! They really treat you like a king. Their concierge are super helpful and staff are very professional. Very clean and excellent views of the city.
My only criticism is that although the room service staff is excellent, the food itself could be better - I do not recommend the burger at all and the menu could use some variety. The breakfast buffet is also a bit tired. The shumai are mostly filler, the bacon is hard… Lots of options but the taste and quality isn’t there for such a lovely hotel. The food quality doesn’t match the high level of service and the overall excellent experience. Don’t order the ice-cream either.
Nevertheless, I highly recommend staying here, if for nothing more than the amazing rain shower, marble bathrooms and comfortable beds!

We had an excellent experience here. The hotel is beautiful, very much a French influence in the design. The rooms are very nice, clean and large. Breakfast had an amazing selection. Sadly I did not use the pool that looked amazing or the gym. The hotel is within walking distance of the restaurant/shopping area, or you can take a cab. The staff is very helpful and all were pleasant to deal with.

What can I say about this place? It has been by far the best hotel I’ve ever been to. And I can tell this after being in 42 countries and hundreds of hotels I can't list so far.
The service is absolutely perfect. The staff is 100% efficient, polite and friendly. The place is majestic as well. And I just wish that any city I go to has a place like this. 100% recommend.

What an excellent stay. Greeted warmly by staff along with a welcome drink in hand. Staff also showed me a map of hotel and city centre and let me keep it as well as pointing out where I could have a nice dinner or street food.

Staff genuinely felt warm and sincere and so happy to help out where they could to make it a comfortable stay.

Decor of room and common areas felt like I stepped back in time but with such opulence and modern touches. I stayed in room 812. This had a big tub and shower, as well as a sign to let you know water from sink tap was drinkable.

Breakfast buffet was lovely. Hotel is located close to a supermarket mall 3 min walk away. There are also cyclos available near by.

Overall a really memorable experience. I wish I could have stayed longer. If staying in Hue I recommend you check in here.

Overall, this hotel was lovely and relaxing. We wondered why it was so empty as our experience was great. Perhaps things haven't bounced back since covid... The beds were extremely comfortable. It was like sleeping on a cloud! The room was very spacious with traditional decor, that although some might see as outdated, it was very well taken care of and in wonderful condition. The buffet breakfast had a great variety of food and the a la carte menu was very good but a bit expensive.
The pool was very clean, and we took advantage of the lovely sauna and steam room. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the live music with a cocktail but it was a little awkward seeing as we were the only ones there. The concierge also gave us some great restaurant recommendations.

I was super shocked when I found this five-star luxury hotel for such a low price.
Some part of the hotels may have been depleted a little bit but I can see that the hotel staffs have had put a lot of effort to maintain the hotel. My room, despite it’s the cheapest, is still very clean and spacious.
My Vietnamese friends say they always hate the pho and bun at the hotels and I agree that the pho that Indochine Palace provided at the breakfast were very mediocre, but they also provided a very various choice of different dishes and I’d say it’s better than many 5-star hotels in HCMC.
There weren’t many residents and I hope soon there would be more that generate more income for the hotel so that they could invest on the service they provide again.

From the grand entrance with your name on the arrivals welcome screen to remembering my dietary requirements & Arranging food for me for breakfast eg gluten-free pancakes. Being shown how to use and operate everything in my room. The lovely bowl of fresh fruit, the decadent furnishings and spectacular pool views.
Excellent attention to detail.
They care about the environment with options to reuse your linen and towels to having a water bottle refill station in the restaurant.
Let them arrange one of their drivers to take you on a private tour.

This is the third time I stayed here. I love all the staff here, extremely friendly and helpful. They always approach me with a great smile to ask if I need any assistance which I really appreciate. The hotel’s facilities are good. They have swimming pool, gym, etc. I will definitely come back next time. Highly recommended!

Had a lovely stay at this hotel. The staff at this hotel helped us with planning our trip through the Mekong Delta river.

You can rent a motorbike here, wich was really easy to do.
