Orchid Premium Cruise

One of the best experiences I’ve had in Vietnam. Very bespoke and personalised experience. Intimate number of people, delicious food, exceptional service, massage on board if needed.
Dong was an exceptional host. Very knowledgable, funny, authentic and accessible. He taught us Tai Chi, we had a cooking course, we visited the caves at Cat Ba island and we went kayaking.

Went on a two night cruise and had a blast! Tee was our main waiter and taught us some Vietnamese, the wait staff in general were super helpful and kind. They even decorated the ship for my wife's birthday! The Thai chi in the morning was great, thank you Madame, and the cooking classes were fun as well.

Transport picked us up to the harbour bay and the journey was seamless. The room was huge, clean and has a bathtub with Jaccuzi. Awesome room amenities. Furthermore, the services provided by the cruise manager Dong and other staffs were exceptional, kudos to the team for making the cruise experience a very memorable one! I will highly recommend orchid cruise to others!

Highly recommended. We spent 3 days / 2 nights on one of their Orchid Classic boats. The staff were all exceptional and the Manager Lily with Nhat (Smile) made our stay very special.

The food was amazing and they accommodated our dietary requirements.

Cabins were clean and conformable with private balconies. Boat had lots of space to sit and enjoy the scenery and the heated jacuzzi.

We went on the orchid premium cruise. This is probably the best cruise if you are looking for service and good food, and fewer people. Everything delicious, and there are plenty of dishes to pick from. Not buffet, everything is a la carte. Excellent service from all the crew. They adjusted every detail to our needs. Rooms are amazing. My only suggestion is that they would add a bit more exploring, for the 2d1n.

Pure luxury and flawless service. Not to mention the amazingly scenic cruise around the thousand Islands of Ha Long Bay. From the moment you arrive to the sad departure, the staff provide a very sincere, personal and friendly service.

The boat is beautiful with scenic views wherever you are. Lovely open decks, but with enough shelter, if required. The boats only have 15 to 20 rooms, so it never feels crowded. The rooms all have floor to ceiling glass, balconies and are very spacious.

All trips were very well planned with excellent guides.

I cannot recommend these cruises enough. I would have given 6 stars if it was possible.

Highly recommend. We did a 2 day 1 night cruise and it was a great experience. I'm a vegetarian so they were great with accommodating my food preferences. We also enjoyed the kayaking. Would recommend.

This is our last destination in vietnam for relaxing after walking a lot from other places.
You get what you paid:
1. All the staff were friendly and nice.
2. The food set menu was amazing.
3. The room is well designed, clean and comfy
4. The deck gives you a nice view
5. Less cabin provided, that means you get the exclusive feels
6. The manager (french guy) is not just a boss, he stayed in the frontline to deal with the customers

Great experience!

My wife and I had a two day/one night trip aboard ship number 4669 and our only regret was not booking for more days. The staff were so accommodating and friendly the entire trip, and we especially enjoyed getting to know Trang, Elle and Bine. Everything from the kayaking to the cooking classes on board are sure to be highlights of any trip and we would love to return and do it all again

We had been told that a cruise in Ha Long Bay was a must and that it was well worth it to spend a little more to ensure an incredible experience and we are very glad that we took that advice! We did a 2 night/ 3 day Orchid cruise in December and loved every second of it.

The pickup was easy and the small vans were a welcome change from large buses in getting us to the dock. Once we arrived at the dock, we had about 45 minute wait but we were processed right away and the waiting was easy because everything was so well organized and prompt.

Once we arrived on the Orchid 3 boat we were so impressed with the staff, the food and the rooms. After a brief overview and staff introduction by our captain, we went to our rooms while lunch was quickly prepped. The room was amazing - larger than I expected with a lush bathroom, balcony, comfy bed and space to spare! We very much enjoyed taking baths, sitting on our balcony and the excellent sleep we got on board.

After lunch, which was buffet style, we opted to go on the cave tour on Cat Ba. The cave experience was intriguing, with a good overview from our captain. After our boat ride back to the main boat, we had some down time before happy hour and the cooking class. We enjoyed the rest of the evening, including the yummy drinks and delicious food.

We also had our first real introduction to the staff, Kenny (Kent) was particularly wonderful and we really appreciated his service. The food was above and beyond - we were not expecting to be so well fed on the cruise.

On Day 2 we had breakfast and then went on the excursion to explore a local village and then Kayak. The boat ride to the village took a bit longer than we were expecting - bring a book if you can. But we could order drinks and enjoyed the view to pass the time.

Bike riding on the island and through the village was incredible. Obviously, there is a little bit of tourism for the locals - so they'll try to sell you some items but it wasn't overly pushy and didn't take away from the experience.

Back on the boat, we had lunch and made our way to a cove for kayaking. It was SO MUCH fun to play in the water and the staff was all so helpful.

That night we joined the main boat where and got ready for happy hour and dinner. I don't eat seafood (I know, I know, I wish I liked it too) and the staff was excellent at remembering and accommodating meals for me.

The last day was another buffet breakfast, more kayaking and then packing up to return home. The journey home was just as organized and well processed as it was on the way out. The small comfortable vans were lovely to ride back home in.

All in all, this was one of our favorite parts of our time in Vietnam. I cannot overstate how much we enjoyed ourselves. You should definitely book w/Orchid Cruises and do the 3 day tour.

A few things to know, you'll run up a tab on drinks while on the boat and you'll pay at the end of your trip. If you take the day 2 boat, you'll pay that tab on the same day - so don't forget to bring cash! You can BYOB so we brought on beers to drink during the day. It was colder than we expected - be sure to bring something warm to wear at night if you go in the winter.

The boat was new and clean. The cabin was comfortable and clean, got both standing shower and bathtub.
The highlight is the people. Staffs were extremely friendly and went above their way to serve guests.
Orchid cruise is excellent choice for relaxing and avoid the busy of the main part in Halong Bay.

Found and booked this cruise via HALONG BAY CRUISE HUNTERS #1 tour on Tripadvisor in Halong Bay and we do recommend this boat as a luxury trip, they picked up/dropped off by Luxury limousine that took only 2 hours from Hanoi. Food at all meals was fancy and activities were fantastic. Definitely recommend this trip !

Amazing cruise 👍the boat was flawless. Room was luxurious! The activities were great, walking through the cave, cycling, kayaking, tai chi and cooking class. Its good for all ages. The food was nice, but make sure you tell the cruise company in advance if you have any special eating requirements. Only thing is i wish for is for the rubbish in the sea to be cleared, but this is a bigger issue

We had a lovely stay on this overnight cruise. It was very relaxing! The staff were all very hospitable and accommodating i.e fussing over our friends birthday. We found the food very good but, if you are not a seafood/fish lover, you may have fewer choices.

I definitely recommend this cruise. I did 2 days 1 night, next time I'll do 3 days 2 nights and with my hubby lol. Tien was very great and super hospitable. Mina and Lyly were very attentive along with all the other crew members. 100% a must with the massages on offer. All the great food was an icing on the cake and all the activities like Tai chi.

We had an amazing experience on the Orchid Classic Cruise and recommend anyone looking for a relaxing, adventure outside of the main cities! The views and atmosphere in Ha Long Bay are unique and unmatched by anywhere we have been!

Service was exceptional, particularly from Linh, Nhat, and Eric, who made sure we were always taken care of with a huge smile. The cruise manager, Tien, was very informative, friendly, and helpful throughout. Everyone on board went the extra mile to make you feel special.

The food and drinks were both delicious and aesthetically pleasing. The food was focused primarily on local dishes with some western options. The staff were able to accommodate any dietary restrictions with alternates always available if there was an item you could not eat or did not want.

I would recommend doing the 3 day, 2 night cruise to get the full experience as there is a bit of travel time involved from Hanoi. We had a hectic few weeks of travelling in Vietnam so the cruise was a much needed relaxing part of our trip.

The staff had an itinerary that was packed with activities, like a cave tour, biking to a village, swimming and kayaking, and cooking classes but even though there was a lot of options you could opt out but we attended as much as we could as it was nice to just follow their lead and not need to worry about any planning, transportation, or activities ourselves.

It was an experience of a lifetime and we were so glad we included this in our itinerary. The rooms were clean, comfy, and very spacious - they even had a giant soaker tub overlooking the window! Everything was well organized and thought out, and communication was seamless from initial booking, questions before arriving, changing our dates and hotel pickups and all the way through the cruise until our final drop off.

Wonderful experience. Just hope you get on Orchid 3 with Ronald- a genuinely kind and gregarious Filipino expat. The food was phenomenal. Drinks were overpriced- bring your own liquor to save your wallet! Regardless, I would stay 10 times over- amazing experience!

I highly recommend doing an overnight cruise in Halong Bay in general, and I have nothing but good things to say about this company, specifically! Their boats have fewer cabins than a lot of the other companies we saw, which was really nice. The rooms are also quite large-bigger than some hotel rooms I've had! The service was wonderful and the staff was very friendly. They made it easy to sign up for a spa treatment that didn't conflict with other activities and the prices were very reasonable. I got a foot massage and it was lovely. The food was amazing; there were a lot of options at the buffet meals, and they were very accommodating to dietary substitutions for the set menu dinner. The activities were all fun and optional. The buy-one-get-one-free happy hours were awesome if a bit dangerous, haha. The boat was very smooth and quiet - I could barely tell we were moving. We went in January and the weather was coldish (highs in low 70's) and rainy, but it was still beautiful. You won't regret booking this!

Absolute amazing experience at the Orchid Classic Cruise. My family and I stayed at the classic cruise for two days and three nights. We loved every bit of our stay including the staff, hospitality, food, activities and facilities.
We want to specially mention David, Elle, Anna and Cheng who were absolute superstars and made our experience even more memorable.
We can’t wait to be back and also recommend it to all our friends.
