Clayton General Store

Such a fun experience! We took the kids for an ice cream treat, & it did not disappoint! The store itself is…interesting. There is lots to look at, & it is reminiscent of old timey general stores. The milkshakes make the visit worth it, for sure! We all loved very shake we got (six total plus a small cup of just scooped ice cream), & the kids made us promise we’ll go back!

Cutest little countrified store whether at the store in Clayton, or the one at Smithfield Premium Outlets. Nice crafts, locally made items, etc. Usually there's a food truck around with Mexican, seafood, etc. Fun place to browse.

It is such a wonderful store full of amazing finds! There is something there for everyone! While you are shopping you gotta try one of their milkshakes!!! Super friendly staff!!

This place is wonderful! They stock a wide variety of NC souvenirs, an eclectic collection of goods & sundries & an impressive array of locally sourced food products.

Also, when the adjacent shops are closed, there's quite a bit of space to walk Chula.

Cute little shop & the Christmas themed milkshakes are pretty decent. Definitely messy but super cute and fun.

I LOVE this store! It has Amish food and products, local house decorations, and MILKSHAKES! The staff were all wearing masks and social distancing. It’s truly one of Clayton’s hidden gems, and I will be back.

It takes you back to original General Stores with goods that are not in most places. They promote local businesses. A lot of made in America goods. People are nice, prices are reasonable. Enjoyed walking around, even bought some stuff and will return!

Came for the ice cream but discovered a fantastic little store. The employee (never got her name) that was working was so nice. I was there with my wife and son and we could have talked with her all day. Super friendly. The ice cream did not disappoint.

Great little store with excellent ice cream!

I just moved to Clayton and wanted to check our this general store. They had local james, salsas, honey, and small business earnings and shirts. They also had superman ice cream, the same one from Michigan as a kid. The service was friendly. They hVe these big beautiful ice cream Sundays I'd like to try next time I'm there. They also hVe lots of glass bottle pop to include Big Red. The food truck off to the side was selling Mexican food and I'd love to also try that my next trip to the general store

Stopped in and got some ice cream on a hot day. The ice cream was amazing, and the service was even better! Even picked up a cool puzzle while we were there.

They have so many cute items in this store, I wanted to buy everything. We also saw the Easter Bunny on our last trip, which was great.

Oh how I simply adore this place as it reminds me of my small hometown. Think of this place as a mini Cracker Barrel store with a little of everything from old fashioned candies to jams, candles, trinkets and the like. Raleigh absolutely needs more mom & pop stores like this!

Classic spot...friendly smiling employees...nice stop for tourist and locals.
