Barbur World Foods

Yesterday, I visited them in markets from the Middle East, where you can find most things, including baked goods, appetizers, and freshly cooked ready-made food. I found there orange juice being squeezed in front of them, and some types of cheese, sweets, and drinks. Everything is excellent and clean, and the hosts receive the visitor with all confidence and a smile. Thank you to everyone.

This store is great to find Eastern Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food and ingredients. It also has some hard to find European food items. It's counters provide finished meals as well as fresh ingredients.
I expect many items to be a bit more expensive than the local Safeway. And some are. But surprisingly many of the specialty items that you also find in your local supermarket are cheaper here.
It is a pleasure to shop here. It is a bit of a trip to far away lands and there always lurks something curious around every corner of the narrow isles.

This is my favorite, grocery store and place to buy food hands-down in all of Portland. I love their Mediterranean food, and the owners have been doing such a good job for generations. This store has old world charm with fresh and innovative foods. Plus, I totally love the manager, Nick.

It's still my favorite Middle Eastern/Mediterranean store in all of Oregon/Washington. They always have everything I want, there's always a great selection and everything is always fresh. I make the drive at least once a month to stock up on essentials and don't mind the drive across the bridge because they are always so kind, warm and welcoming and all the other stores can learn a lot about great customer service from them. They have a good variety of meats, bakery products, produce, and frozen its as well. They always have bread and lavash as well. Will continue to make the drive and gladly give them my business over other stores any day.

Nice beer selection, holy cow some great breweries I haven't seen available at most stores!
I didn't get to try it but I saw the handmade pizzas and they looked and smelled amazing. Really nice selection of offerings in the deli cases also.
The grocery section is eclectic with a nice variety of standard grocery fare and some unique items. Mediterranean, European, and East Asian selections were well represented among other places.
Was able to get the spices and ingredients that have been difficult to get elsewhere.

Their meat department is awesome, the quality is top notch and the cutter/manager is very willing to work with you. The produce is fresh and ripe, more like a really good farmers market. Excellent selection of hard to find or bulk spices, and they have a truly excellent selection of beer and cider.

International grocery store well known for its amazing selection of food from around the world.

I love this place! Their hot food is amazing-- the chickpea rice is so wonderful! And they always have tasty meat and roasted veggies to go with it. I also am addicted to their hummus. The olive tapenade one and the zatar one! I also bought a decent amount of other groceries here and am really impressed at how similar their prices are to the chains! I try to go here as much as I can to support our local small businesses!

Polite, friendly, cheerful employees; almost always have a pleasant experience here:) Prices can be a little high(compared with usual places I shop(Safeway, WinCo, & such)but you get what you pay for. Awesome(AWESOME) fruit selection, all reasonably priced, and the employees are super helpful and knowledgeable; every time I have any questions about the current apple selection(changes almost weekly, as far as I've noticed, which is pretty cool:)I walk away with new knowledge. Thanks guys, all of you that always go out of your way to make us customer's days, keep up the great work!

They have the best selection of cultural items. A brick oven for awesome pizza. the deli is top notch. Employees are wonderful. Nice to avoid the big groceries.

I can't believe I've never stopped in before now. This place is fantastic! So many great options. It's good for every day items plus great choices for entertaining. I can't wait to shop here for my next charcuterie board.

Barbari and gata breads here are the best you will find.
department always has some solid choices including Mary's standard and organic whole chickens. With the proper lead time they can butcher you most anything however you like
Great service

I shop here for a few specific items: packagess of toasts, spreadable feta, dates, twice baked potatoes. It's a fun place to shop, with food from around the world. They butcher shop is halal. I don't eat meat, but my partner does. He says that it is excellent. And I must admit, the cuts of meat are beautiful if you're into that sort of thing. The staff is friendly, and the clientele just as interesting as what is offered on the shelves.

Great & fresh seafood of the best quality. International food at very reasonable prices. The Deli section and the cheese section are very good. A lot of middle eastern delicacies. Still a small store easy to navigate

FANTASTIC TINNED FISH SELECTION

I’ve loved this little store since 2002 and fall deeper in love every time I visit. They have competitive prices on meats and produce, while having a diverse selection of items. Be sure to check out the deli case.

Recently, the friendly owner has revamped his selection of tinned fish and meats. It’s truly top notch and a reason to visit this store all on its own.

It's a shame that I've been living a mere 12 minutes away from this cornucopia & have not discovered it till today. With my experience shopping in diverse & demanding communities all over the West Coast, I've had quite a few impressive finds rivaling the options in California & Washington. First & foremost, an incredible and well-curated chocolate selection, especially soy-free, from local, regional & international craft sources. Second, local ground goat. Then, camel milk. And amazing small production specialty alcohol from various small regions of France, Italy & other countries. Finally, truly exceptional baba ganoush. High quality pasta, olive smorgasbord. I feel I'll be adding more on my future regular visits.

Great selection of fresh food and fresh vegetables and fruit stand. Wide variety of wine and beer. Deli food is excellent.

Love this little cozy and vibrant grocery store. Has everyday essentials along with ethnic ingredients and spices. Also has a large choice of vegan options.

Everything you'd expect from a high end "world" market - elevated prices, amazing chocolates, unique coffees, special cheeses, and even unexpected produce to include fresh squeezed orange juice.
Friendly service.

Living less than a mile away from World Foods, I have been here many, many times. They have a wide variety of high quality fresh meats (marinated or plain) including grass fed beef. Any time I want to treat myself to a top-notch home cooked filet mignon, it comes from World Foods. They also have many frozen ‘exotic’ meats... wild boar, kangaroo, elk, buffalo, camel. The produce is good quality as well.

And then there’s the hot and cold deli. The cook pizzas fresh when you order and many other prepared hot foods which all smell a-m-a-z-i-n-g.

The rest of the store is filled with middle eastern and other international grocery items that you’d be hard pressed to find just about anywhere else in Portland. They have an impressive selection of wine and beer as well.

If you’ve never been to Barbur World Foods, stop in sometime and I’ll bet you walk out with something you’ve never tried (or even seen) before that you’ll love.
