Michelle is an excellent communicator who knows her stuff and knows how to translate it all for laypeople like me. She is always clear and thorough, and gives me options for what kind of work could be done to address the issue (including pros and cons and risks and estimates for each option). She is clearly well organized, and it shows.

Eric is a competent mechanic who has literally taken me into my car to show me how to manage an issue too expensive to resolve, and under my car to show me what the issue is and is not.

St. Louis Hills Auto's human touch is unmatched among any mechanic I've ever been to, and I will keep going to them as long as that virtue persists.

I started using this shop when my life-long mechanic retired. I had literally been seeing the same mechanic for 25 years so looking for a new repair shop was stressful to say the least. I wanted to make sure I found a shop who would be honest with me about needed repairs to my vehicles and explain things to me since in a way I would understand, since I don't know anything about cars (something my previous mechanic was great about). I must say this shop was a FANTASIC find! The owners of the shop, Michelle and Eric, are amazing! They are honest about what work needs to be done, giving me a heads up about upcoming / suggested services, but never pressuring me. If I come in with a concern, they are happy to take a look, and if they don't spend much time looking into the concern I have they don't charge their full hourly rate / diagnosis fee. I simply can't get over how pleasant and easy to work with this shop is! I've taken my car there several times over the last 2 years (at least 4 times) and am always impressed with their professional, prompt, friendly, convenient, and HONEST service. Not to mention, their prices are fair and reasonable, and they always provide an estimate, and never proceed with work without having permission from me to continue. I've never been forced / asked to pay for something I did not authorize. I would recommend this shop to anyone looking for a mechanic in South St. Louis City! (Please note this is the shop on Hampton Ave., there is an unaffiliated shop with a similar name on Gravois, but I have never used that location so I cannot speak to the service they provide.)

I started coming to St. Louis Hills Auto for simple oil changes, but I started using them for everything. They are a really stand up crew, they're not going to waste your time or money. They'll give you the best solution and get you the best possible price. I don't trust a lot of auto shops but they won me over!

St. Louis Hills Auto Service is everything you want and need from an auto shop. Michelle and Erik went above and beyond to help me with my old Honda. Some auto shops talk to you with a condescending tone when explaining what’s wrong with your car, but not these guys. They didn’t make me feel “dumb” for asking questions and they did a great job letting me know what was going on. They got me in quick and the repairs didn’t take forever. St. Louis Hills Auto Service does a great job, are trustworthy, reasonably priced, and the people are awesome too. I will be recommending them to friends and family and will definitely put my faith in them as my regular auto shop. Thanks guys!

I tried this place on the recommendation of a friend, and am pleasently surprised! They made some repairs that other very respected mechanics missed, and did other repairs VERY reasonably priced. Small shop, but the girl on the front desk takes VERY good care of you. I recieved a number of phone calls updating me on where they were with my repairs. VERY impressed so far....

Once again coming here to shout from the rooftops how great STL Hills Auto is. Michelle & Eric are so honest -- Michelle walks me through everything & they typically tell me why I don't need to replace something/when I should expect to do that. They aren't trying to upsell me or take advantage. This is the mechanic you need & I send all of my friends & family to them. I truly wish I could give them more stars.

My family and I have been using St. Louis Hills Auto Service for quite a time now. From everything to basic maintenance (i.e. oil filter and fluid change and battery), all the way up to more in depth fixes. Michelle, Eric, and Marshall are all very knowledgeable, helpful, courteous, and polite. If you need any inspections, tires, battery, fluid change, or most wrenching done to your vehicle, I highly advise their shop! Even a call to pick their mind on a certain thing vehicle related, they'll help. Their pricing is on par if not a tad cheaper than most other shops. Never had a bad experience here! Highly recommend.

Hands down the best experience I've had getting my car fixed. Michelle is friendly and kept me updated throughout the day with what she was doing and what the next step would be. The price for my repair was so much less than expected and they got me in and out in the same day. A good, solid, trustworthy car place is so hard to find and St. Louis Hills Auto is exactly that.

This shop is great. I needed an emissions test done and Tom fit me in as soon as possible at the Hampton location. The customer service is outstanding; he answered the phone promptly when I called, acknowledged me as soon as I walked into the waiting area, and gave me a time frame for the service (and the test was done within that time frame!). He also gave me some good tips about my car. The prices for standard services are very reasonable and you can tell that this place takes pride in their work. I would definitely recommend this place!

Michelle & Eric have been so great to work with! We've been taking our cars here for about a year and a half now, and it feels so luxurious to have a great mechanic in the neighborhood. In the past with other shops (ie. Dobbs), I've left feeling stupid or taken advantage of. Here, they shoot me straight, have great prices, and have never pressured me into any unnecessary up-sells.

Treated fairly, and was told exactly what was being done to fix the problem. I felt confident at all points of receiving service, and while no one is ever happy about having to spend money to fix their car, they'll at least make you feel that you spent it at the right place. One criticism (that isn't worth taking away a star) is that I had to bring the car back multiple times to get my issue resolved, even though it was fairly evident within minutes of driving that the issue wasn't fully taken care of; however, sometimes that's just the nature of automotive repair.

Michelle and staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. They were able to fix the problem the same day and get the car back to us quickly. This is the second time they have helped us out when in a bind. Both times they were dependable and reasonably priced.

Super friendly, quick and affordable! Went in to get a headlight changed out, and they said it was so easy that they didn't charge me any labor for it, just the cost of the part. A great place you can trust.

Very friendly and extremely knowledgeable staff. Really fair and honest prices and not one single extra repair or any more work pushed. In and out in 30 min. I know I’ll be making this my regular place and I suggest anyone reading this do the same.
