This place is a gem! I come here from Austin to reward myself for achieving difficult things, because it is truly such a joy just to wander through and soak in the vibes, let alone browse the books and lovingly curated, well... everything.

It's wheelchair accessible, with one parking spot close by, a ramp at the curb, and a push button at the entrance, though not at the bathrooms yet. (I loved the free menstrual & diaper station.) A staff member held the door for me as I came in and mentioned they do their best to keep aisles clear and accessible, but to please let someone know if anything needed adjustment — that was such a lovely gesture, to see a business being proactive about accessibility AND in inviting feedback in advance. Most other places see accessibility as an afterthought or do the legal bare minimum, then leave it to the person with the disability to figure it all out ourselves. It's a very good sign whenever a person or organization shares in the mental load of disability access work.

The whole place just radiates "heartfelt," you can see how deeply the owners care about this place and being welcoming to a wide diversity of readers.

I kept missing the café being open, so today was my first day trying it. Pretty spendy (what place isn't, these days?) but some of the drinks were under $4. The lemon poppyseed bundt cake was tangy, sweet, and absolutely delicious! I also enjoyed the egg salad, it seemed to have some kind of chipotle seasoning. The iced tea was better than average, and I liked that the to-go containers were compostable and recyclable.

I was also grateful that they have three tables outside in the open-air for those of us who are still high risk and need to keep a mask on in closed spaces. I will say, having some kind of umbrella or shade would help, the white building is very bright in the sunlight.

My first visit...and I was happily surprised. Such a wonderful bookstore! Great customer service...and they had some great gift items (non book). The bistro inside is the perfect place to enjoy a perfect latte! They also had several good items too for a bite to eat...and an adorable seating area! Looking forward to returning often.

A very cute and inclusive bookstore that really is great to have in the area. Doesn't have the biggest selection to choose from but they have great quality books with both new and classics to look through. The kid's section was very cozy and our son enjoyed the book nook. Has a spot to chat and enjoy drinks or food and a nice outdoor section as well. Overall a great place just to look around as well as buy great books or gifts.

Best little book store in the area, wonderful staff, wonderful books and the greatest bistro with amazing food and drinks. The best grilled cheese you'll ever eat! Support local and enjoy a good book and a cup of coffee.

We are originally from STL but we have family in TX and visit often. We ALWAYS come here on our trips. This is such a fun bookstore that always has great, positive vibes. Books are inclusive and there is also the bonus of supporting a local, woman owned business. The workers are friendly and clearly have a passion for books. Recently we purchased their "mystery" books and loved the idea of going on a blind date with a book while simultaneously expanding our horizons. Super fun!

SUPER CUTE place with lots of nooks and new books and fun gifts. There's also a bistro with indoor and outdoor seating. It's not directly off the square but not too far, and has a bit of parking around, and it was crowded! Always good to see a bookstore doing well. I was looking for used books but found lots to peruse here.

Such a cool bookstore to visit, especially for guests visiting. Lots of unique, handmade local gifts as well as interesting book selections. There's a coffee/pastry setup in the store if you need refreshments and a large outdoor uncovered area with tables for reading and relaxing. A good spot to just meander around if you have some free time.

I love Lark & Owl! It is so nice to have an independent bookstore in Georgetown. They have a great selection of books and gifts, a lovely area for children, and a nice selection of events. Feels great to be able to support a local female-owned business.

I absolutely love Lark & Owl. My first visit was for the Educator Appreciation Night; I just did not want to leave. There are so many different genres to choose from. The vendors were awesome, as well. It was amazing. There are so many books I knew nothing about. Books, drinks, & food. What more could one ask for? I definitely will be back.

I have been to Lark & Owl many times, and I absolutely adore their bookstore! It is the perfect amount of quaint, kitchy, and cozy. I love that they have a wide variety of items for sale aside from books, as well as a cafe/bar to eat and drink while you work or browse. Recently, I saw them advertising on instagram for people to host their next party or club at the bookstore. I inquired as it seemed like the perfect spot to host our English Department holiday party. They were super quick to respond with different options and they were so kind and accommodating throughout the process! It was the easiest booking interaction I have ever had. For about 20-25 teachers, we had the entire bookstore to ourselves to hang out, chat, play games, and shop! They allowed us to have a potluck and they had their bar open for us to order drinks throughout our event. Little setup was needed as they already have the bistro seating area, and they supplied a few tables for us to setup our food, gifts, and games. The entire evening was perfect, and they were helpful and attentive to our needs from start to finish. All of my coworkers loved having the event there and had such a wonderful time. I highly recommend booking your next event at Lark & Owl for the best experience and ambiance!

Boy do I love this book store and more, plus the way it serves as a foundation for the community. Lark and Owl is literally a shopping destination for our entire family whenever we visit the Austin area. It is worth the drive, has a tremendous selection across all genres, and has wonderful assortment of non book related items that make tremendous birthday gifts. When I can't make it there to purchase in person I love using their online service knowing that it supports an independent mom owned business. What a magical place!!!

Lark & Owl is a magnificently curated collection of books (& more), with items that, yes, you *could* order if you ever heard about them…except that very likely you will never hear of many of these books.

The store has the usual sections, genre by genre, but I would want to draw your special attention to the strength of their curated collections of thoughtful non-fiction reflections on or studies of the sciences, history, autobiography & the human experience.

Those genre sections with which I have spent significant time were equally thoughtfully curated.

Whether you make a special trip to visit, or stay after one of the community events hosted there, I would say that any dedicated reader or curious spirit owes it to her/himself to explore the shelves there at least occasionally, discovering new materials off of your usual beaten path.

I love love love Lark and Owl! It's my favorite place to go and get lost in the stacks for a bit. The selection is great, whether it's their books or their fun little gifts spaced throughout the store, and their staff are all friendly and helpful! Last Christmas I told one of their booksellers my friend's favorite book of the year and she curated a pile of books my friend might like as gifts- and she loved them!

Smiles and helpful folks abound at Lark & Owl. They carry some pretty cool gifts and we usually hit them up for all of our birthday and holiday gifting needs. I also enjoy the current and topical selection of books on the shelves. All round, this bookstore is the place to spend a good couple hours on your time off if you're out and about in the Georgetown Square area.

Went in a few weeks ago. Have been wanting to stop by since I enjoy their social media presence and I wanted to support their business. The lovely person working that day was friendly and offered assistance. There is a positive vibe about the place and it feels quaint. I didn't have a lot of time but I will definitely be back. Stop by if you're passing through Georgetown.

This place is a gem. Georgetown is so lucky to have such a wonderful place for books, gifts, events and more. Always a treat to see what they’ve got going on. Perfect for gifting. Owned by smart women. This sounds like a paid ad but it’s not. Just a happy customer.

This is, hands down, the most welcoming and comforting bookstore I've ever been to. It makes me just want to sit for hours and have snacks from Alouette all day.

The employees are also very nice! I can't remember the one person that helped me's name but they found me a perfect book and also helped me grab one from a difficult display.

The selection is really good for what doesn't seem like a whole lot of books. They're almost all newer titles, but I am branching out from my old classics.

I think about going back all the time.

The vibes in this place are immaculate. I go about once a week, sometimes with my buddies, and every time everyone is super friendly and the place is great. Now that the bistro is open too, I don't feel guilty for not getting a book either, since I'll just get a drink! The selection in here is kinda small, but they rotate stock frequently it so every time I go in I find something new! As a horror reader, it's great to see a dedicated horror section with actual staff review too since it's not a common section. The bistro is delicious too, with the best dirty chai I've found in the greater Austin area period!

My absolute favorite bookstore! From the curated selection of books to the kid section our toddler loves to play in and the attached coffee shop, this is our go-to weekend activity as a family. Love to support a boldly inclusive shop that really offers something for everyone!
