Hy-Vee Fast & Fresh

I needed a drink before returning home after a visit to the adjacent Starbucks. Since this Hy-Vee Fast & Fresh was right next door, I opted to get my drink from here.

My first impression of this location is that it is much larger on the inside than it appears from without. I really expected something similar to the Fast & Fresh location near the Devils Glen Hy-Vee, which I've always thought of as a somewhat larger convenience store. This location dwarfs the one on Devils Glen in both size and overall offerings. There's even a location in the middle of the store to sit and eat anything purchased at the hot counter.

After visiting the Starbucks next door, I better understand the architectural elements that are common between both stores now. The steel angle irons and corrugated sheet metal are plainly the same as those in the Starbucks, as is the simple, unadorned concrete floor. For the look Hy-Vee Fast and Fresh is apparently trying to put out there, namely an open space that looks much bigger than it actually is, I think it works. Between the high, uncovered ceiling area and the bright lighting and white or light colored surfaces throughout, the space looks open and large.

I quickly located the orange flavored Gatorade Zero I was looking for and proceeded to the check-out. The manager at the registers scanned my items, took my payment, and I was on my way, no other fuss or trying to sign me up for rewards programs. I appreciated this - too many places are trying to sign you up for rewards these days. I'm glad Hy-Vee isn't pushing that.

For a review of what is essentially a large gas station convenience store, this review is getting pretty long. I'd summarize with this - I don't live around this area so I probably won't be returning. That doesn't mean I don't think you shouldn't shop here. I like the space and the conveniences within. Thanks for continuing to be a great part of the Quad Cities, Hy-Vee.

I was pleasantly surprised by the extensive selection at this convenience store. It was so impressive that my partner mistook it for a miniature Hy-Vee. She was so captivated by the variety that I thought we might never leave!

Their hot breakfast is great better than other gas stations, would probably eat it over most drive through breakfast places.

I go to the gas station on a regular basis and they are always friendly and helpful. There are 2 other stations very close but not going anywhere except hy- vee.

I always stop here to fill my tank and grab a quick snack. I love that there's a Starbucks on site, too.

I think the concept behind this place is really nice. The location is also spectacular. It's like an expanded mini-mart. They offer A lot of take and bake / heat and eat foods in a variety of styles and sizes. A variety of grocery basics like milk, ice cream, snacks, and frozen foods. This place also is a great stop for cold drinks and coffee (they have a Starbucks as well as normal coffee offerings). They also have brick oven style pizza Mia (your way) offering that is really quick. and a few other hot foods. This place is a good hub overall to grab gas, snacks, dinner, and light grocery needs.

Stopped in to buy some craft that they canned right on the spot. Very reasonable price as well. Service was excellent. Will go back to get more as this is a great gift idea. Oh yes, the beer was excellent.

Got lunch here while staying at the hotel next door (check out that page for another review) and was very pleasantly surprised. I'm actually a previous employee of one of the full sized HyVee's in the area and they're generally well maintained stores, but I hadn't been to one of the 'mini stores' before. I was expecting it to be a gas station but it really is just a tiny grocery store, complete with both hot food cooked within view of the customers and even fresh nigiri style sushi (which yes, I tried and yes, it was safe and delicious). The whole store is clean and brightly lit. The staff I interacted with were friendly and helpful. They even had shopping carts for people getting more than just a slushy and a bag of chips. And speaking of, HOLY SLUSHIES they have a lot of options. I'm a bit of a slushy addict and have resolved to start swinging by during my day to day errands just to get a slush here, as they have the best quality and most options short of going across the river to track down a 7-11, and even then it would be a close competition. This is prob the best gas station in town and even one of the better grocery stores. Would HIGHLY recommend.

Stopped in on the way home from work. Looks like they have a little bit of everything and would be the go to stop when needing to pick up little things here and there. They have made to order Mia pizza, several options for prepackaged/pre-made meals, and a microwave if you want to heat it up and eat there. There is a hand full of tables/chairs set up which makes it easy to enjoy a meal. The manager that was there at the time I stopped in was a someone covering from another store, so could not answer all the questions, like how the pick-up grocery lockers worked. Other then that, everything was bright and inviting; will be back.

HyVee fast and fresh certainly has a lot to offer. They actually offered things they don't carry in the regular store. there is a tremendous amount of food all you have to do is take it home and heated up where is rotisserie chicken sushi sandwiches and gasoline. I think it is a nice concept store for the company. I look forward to going there quite often.

This place is great! It’s like taking all the best parts of Hy-Vee and squeezing it all into an amazing gas station. The organization is impeccable, the smiles are genuine, and the selection they manage to fit into the space is impressive. Thanks Carey for checking me out and wishing me a great day. The coffee dispenser grinds your beans while you wait and it was delicious! Nice sized convenience store too!

Interesting store good for a quick bite to eat, they also sell growlers if micro brews. I love their air compressor, it's free and you set the pounds your tire should be inflated to. This is great for anyone that isn't quite sure how to properly inflated a tire.

Very clean and tons of great, affordable beverage options. There are lots of ready to eat, pre-made meals, take home and bakes, with most items providing nutritional information for those counting carbs, calories, and the like. They also offer a pretty decent, affordable fresh baked pizza, and have a full Starbucks onsite. Will definitely be returning.

I LOVE Hyvee FnF! My absolute FAVORITE is the pizza bar! Create your own pizza with a HUGE variety of toppings!! This is my go-to gas station! I also love the packaged chocolate covered fruit! The strawberries are my favorite and cheapest place to buy them! Thank you!!!

The breakfast farmhouse sandwich is so good the morning cook does very good.
