Gist Wine Shop

Gist is an amazing gem of a natural wine shop located conveniently in downtown Sioux Falls. I stumbled across Gist on one of my many visits to Sioux Falls after struggling to find a bar or wineshop with a comprehensive natural wine selection. Gist’s wine selection is impressive, and the owner is actually a sommelier which is not usually the case at a small wine shop (especially outside of major U.S. cities). If you’re in Sioux Falls and like wine, you must stop by Gist.

This was my first stop on my first visit to Sioux Falls and I couldn’t have been happier. The hospitality and quality of the wines were absolutely bar-none. I’ve been to wine tastings in New Orleans, LA, and New York. This place takes the cake for me. I had a couple of their daily offerings by the glass and bought a white wine called Big Salt. I can’t rave enough about this place. If you visit, this should be your first stop.

My friend and I were visiting downtown Sioux Falls when we came across Gist. The ladies were very educated on the wine and helped me find a sparkling red to go. We tried a red blend as part of the wines they had open for the day. It was lovely and I will definitely make another trip just to stop here.

We stopped by this wine shop on a visit to Sioux Falls from Brooklyn, NY and we were blown away by the varied and interesting selection of wines. Mel, the owner, was super helpful in making some recommendations for us and we ended up taking home a half case of different wines that we've been enjoying with friends ever since. One of our favorite wine shops in the country. Great customer service and awesome wines.

I can’t say enough great things about my experience at Gist. There is an amazing selection of wines, and Mel made some excellent recommendations. She knows what she’s talking about, and then some. Prepare to be thoroughly impressed! I took two bottles home and will definitely be back for more. Thank you, Mel!

Poked our heads in to check the new place out, and ended up staying for well over an hour, enjoying the 1/2 Glass Flight and fun conversation. They were such great hosts, and tailored each flight to our own tastes. We loved hearing the stories behind some of the wines, and the backgrounds. It was well worth the stop!

Not only did I get great wines I purchased cheeses for a charcuterie board.
Mel is incredibly knowledgeable and has a wide array of wines. I highly recommend the Neverland Cab to go with a perfect steak.

If you’re looking for a great place to bring your wife and enjoy some classy wine, this is the place! Awesome service and good looking space.

Great curated selection of well rounded wines. A must go for anyone who loves wine a quiet spot to enjoy them.

Stopped in on a Saturday night for a quick wine tasting, and was very surprised how great the experience was. I want to come back again hopefully soon and spend more time there.

What an amazing little shop in downtown Sioux Falls.
The variety of wines to purchase is incredible for a store this size.
The food selection is very limited due to kitchen size but the quality is good.

Cute little place with a nice atmosphere. Friendly people and quiet for a relaxing visit. There's was some confusion about a different party that was going to be there at a later time which caused an issue. But literally everything else was great!
