Smart & Final

I shop at multiple groceries for the best prices. Smart & Final is great for bulk food and easily rivals, if not bests Costco for meat prices. There are a lot of items that you can't get elsewhere in bulk as well. Good prices on vegetables and snacks.

I used to come to Smart & Final for a few select items, but I've grown reasonably accustomed to buying most of my groceries at this particular location in the past six months or so. Surprisingly, they have a really good produce section. The store is always well-stocked, and I've never seen it very crowded, although I do most of my shopping here in the later evenings, just prior to their closing. Their prices are quite reasonable, and they have a varied selection of goods. The only issue I've come across is that they sometimes don't seem to have enough people working in the store. As stated, I usually come in the evenings prior to closing, and it's quite possible that they're running a skeleton crew at those times. However, I've only ever seen employees working the registers. I can't ever recall having seen any employees in the aisles of the market, which could make it difficult if you have questions. However, as a frequent customer, I am quite familiar w/ their store, so I don't run into this issue. As well, the store isn't huge, and the aisles are well-marked, so it's unlikely that a lack of staff would pose much of a problem.

Walked into the store and found a worker to give direction to the product we needed. She was helpful. We found what we needed. While we were there we decided to walk around. We found Vons product at lower cost. Other Costco type items at good price. Nice fresh tomatoes. Easy check out without waiting. All in all a very good visit. The hardest part? Because it is set back off the street it is easy to miss. Look just one block East of Balboa. That's our new landmark. Outstanding store.

Smart & Final never disappoints. Their house brand First Street is the same quality as the National brand, odds are they made it!!! You don't risk anything, S&F will make you happy! Baked goods are great as are produce and dairy and you'll save money!!!

The place lives up to its name. The store is well kept and team members are very helpful and polite. Their is ample parking and it is in a good location. The lines do occasionally get long as they are sometimes very busy but you can tell the workers are struggling to accommodate.

Now this may sound crazy coming from someone who shops at Gelsons. But if you understand this secret you can save a lot of money. Smart and Final is great for a lot of things: like great fresh produce. CHEAP! And paper products! I have protein shakes every morning and all my 20 ounce cups come from Smart and Final. So worth it!!

I love this location in particular among others, its a bigger store with a wider selection unlike other locations.
Tons of parking at the front and behind the building as well.

I had a cashier named Maria help me to find some rice cakes that someone else said were on aisle 6 but I could not find anywhere. Maria was great and found them for me, they were hiding behind a big display box tjat was in the aisle. Then she opened her register for me too since I had already been up to the line once. Thx Maria!

Laura at the cash register asked " why did you take out the heavy box to be scanned. I said it's ok. She's like it's not ok for me and I don't want to put it back on your cart. I told her don't worry, I'll take care of it."

It was not even a 10 pounds cans of juices. Anyway, then she offered if I need help outside. I said nope.

This location is in my neighborhood. It's always clean, with friendly staff. You can find what you need quick and in stock. Even in this strange, interesting Covid time.....no waiting, plenty of parking. Worth a visit.

Online ordering and Pick-up service is prompt and accurate during the week. Not so accurate on the weekend, but still a great service especially when trying to avoid crowds and contact.

It was terrific as the man who checked me through ran around and picked up items for me . He was the best. I didn't get his name, but he had mentioned he had onced worked at a deli.
