Mingus Magic Shop

I love this place! Whether you are a magician or just a fan, this is the place to be. This is a wonderful magic shop in the Reading/Shillington area in PA. So many magic tricks for sale and some really interesting artifacts on display.

The owner is very friendly and VERY entertaining! If you live in the area and haven't visited the Mingus Magic Shop yet, you should do it! They have a Facebook page and a website and occasionally have live performances. Visiting here was literally the highlight of my week. Oh, they are only open Saturdays from noon until 5. The rest of the week by appointment only.

My father took me here when I was young, and I've taken my kids as well. Wayne (the proprietor) is wonderful, and very patient with the customers. My son loved his first visit, and came home with two new illusions to practice (Wayne took the time to teach him how to perform them). He is already asking me when we can go again.

The Mingus Magic Shop is an absolutely amazing place. There's something about a brick and mortar magic shop that you just can't get from ordering online. You get an in-depth, personal teaching of any trick you buy and you have some great people to hang out with and perform or talk to about magic. I've been going here for a little over 3 years now and have been honored to be a part of an amazing local community of magicians. It's also the perfect place for beginners who want to get into the art of magic. Not to mention the events that are held here where you will be treated to some outstanding talent by Reading's local magicians. The Mingus Magic Shop also does a lot for Alex's Lemonade Stand, a pediatric cancer charity, by donating the funds they receive from events such as the 24 Hour Magic Marathon. The Mingus Magic Shop is a gem in Reading where you're sure to have an amazing time at.

The shop is great and so is the owner, who shares his love of the craft. We enjoyed a show on the stage and everyone sharing their skills with each other.

One of the few brick and mortar Magic Shops still in existence!! Not only can you experience magic, but learn from all magicians who devote some time in this rarity of rarities... You never know who you will meet!!
