Valdez Grocery Store

I’ve lived in Reading my whole life and I’ve eaten a lot of corner store sandwiches, Veldez is the best. I go there 3-6 times a week!

Nice place to go

The only experience that I have with this location is not a very nice one. In fact, it borders on crossing a very serious criminal line. It all began when I carelessly left my debit card in an atm located at 5th & Bingaman. Fortunately, when I realized my mistake, I immediately cancelled it. Less than an hr after I discovered this mishap, someone who obviously lacks morals (scumbag) attempted to use my card for 6 separate back to back transactions at Valdez Grocery unsuccessfully. The 1st 2 attempts, for the same amount were declined. 3rd & 4th transaction’s attempted for identical amounts were also declined. Finally, 5th & 6th attempts, same amounts were declined. News flash low life scum bag: attempting to use a debit card that you’ve found is a felony. It doesn’t have to be stolen to be classified a felony. 2nd newsflash genius: The atm where you found the debit card has a camera. Also, Kenny’s grocery store has a state of the art camera which has an incredibly accurate view of that outdoor atm. I’m pretty sure that Valdez grocery has a camera too, which btw, the police can demand to review. I’m curious why Valdez grocery would allow an individual to use a debit card 6 consecutive times unsuccessfully. Am I to believe that it never occurred to the employee or owner that after 6 DECLINES the debit card being used was most likely stolen. Hmmmm, seems awfully fishy to me. I believe a store owner has a responsibility to up hold the law. 2 to 3 transactions denied, perhaps it’s possible, even believable. HOWEVER, 6 back to back DECLINED transactions surely ought to raise a red flag!
