Just stopped in to get some beer here & am in love with this side-street neighborhood market. They have a sick beer/soft drink selection and a shockingly large range of quality pantry staples that'd be good in a pinch. Please go here, it's great.

I love this place - I love the owner Barry - and I wish I could love his beer program...but I fear that he lets the beer get too warm on the shelf - and his coolers are not very cold...the beer suffers.

Call me crazy - but Breakside Wanderjack - canned just 2 weeks ago should not have a sweet malty flavor...i suspect it's the temp of his store...it's waaaay too hot for fresh beer on the shelf.

I've drank a lot more Breakside beer than I should - and their 2x dry hopped IPA - I know this beer very well...it's not a sweet malty beer...but everything from his store ends up tasting the same sweet malty flavor and the only thing I can think of is that's like 89 degrees in there all the time...the beer gets too hot before he moves it to his coolers.

Barry is great and I really want him to be successful - maybe this message will resonate with enough people that he'll get the message and level up.

Stellar beer selection, friendly owners (Barry is awesome & helpful), growler fill station, a lot of this and that you find yourself needing that you wouldn't expect from the oldest little convenience store in Portland. It's not fair to compare to the huge grocery stores in Portland like Fred Meyer, however they have the best price on my favorite beverages in town. ATM on premises comes in handy with all the nearby cash only places (which Clinton Market is not). Great soft drink selection too, lots of natural options. If you want convenience & if supporting a small local business is important to you, I highly recommend. (Yes I realize how Portland that sounds but whatever, when in Rome!)

Best selection of HQ beer you could hope in a place this size and owners care about the neighborhood. Great wine selection too and plenty of sundries to help you through till the next major grocery store run. Fun Fact: this market is the oldest grocery store in Portland.

Great selection/pricing of fine beers, some wines along with edibles in a competent & friendly atmosphere make this a go to place whenever you're in the neighborhood and in need of refreshment. Walk, bike or drive it's worth the trip.

I lived directly above this market for 2.5 years. Been visiting the place overall for about 8. Nothing but positive to say. I know the owner well, and everyone that works[ed] there, and it's quite the neighborhood institution. 4 years since I moved out, and I still stop by to say hello everytime I'm anywhere near SE PDX.

I work here and its a great store. Large selection of wines and beers. Great staff. Best market in portland and its a historic site. The first grocery to be built when portland was being built.

It's a neighborhood staple. The owner is super rad and they have a killer beer/cider selection. Don't sleep on the Clinton St. Market y'all.

Awesome local corner store. I've been a customer for 10 years. Spend your money there and not the Plaid or the 7-11.

Barry is a gem in the neighborhood and has a great selection of beer! Also some red wine and chocolate for those unavoidable PMS trips!

12 taps for growler fills, plus a whole wall of cold PNW craft beer. Great spot to find a new six-pack.
