Game Masters

I've been to a number game stores in the Pittsburgh area and Game Masters is easily my favorite! Their collection of both the for sale games as well as the in shop rental library are thoughtfully curated and well maintained. The owner was there and thrilled to give me the tour of his shop and gave great recommendations for the type of games I enjoy and for various number of players. The atmosphere is welcoming and fun, both the for sale section as well as the play space. Rarely have I come across such an amazing collection, much less often even do I find a place where you're encouraged to bring and play your own games on top of having an entire wall of rental games to choose from in house! Game Masters is an absolute treat from the casual board game enjoyed to the collector. I will definitely be back!

I had the honor of visiting Game Masters as part of a birthday celebration with other gamers. The space is amazing, so many tables! The owner was delightful and showed us around the new space. He has a sensory room for when it gets too overwhelming (it can get pretty busy and noisy on Magic nights), semi-private areas, a ramp and stairs for accessibility and a HUGE game library to try out new games. He charges $5 per person to come in and use a table (totally worth it!) and has snacks and drinks to purchase, just pay at the end of your visit. If you are in the area and looking to play or just find new games to purchase, this is a wonderful spot to do so. We found MLEM and Apiary to take home, excited to try them out! Always a pleasure coming in here. The owner is an amazing person who’s always ready to chat and willing to help with whatever you need. The store itself has a fantastic selection of games, that’s continually expanding. They’ve also got a great variety of rpgs, including a complete selection of d&d and pathfinder material. The store is always clean, bright, and welcoming. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Gamemasters really is the best game in town when it comes to selection of unique and fun board games. Prices are fair, and routine events on the calendar keep you coming back if you want to get into the hobby! Phil (the owner) is great and very knowledgeable. Lending library and large open playing area is awesome! The atmosphere is everything you would want for a local game shop. 5 stars!

Game Masters is such a gem! Consistently has an amazing board game selection, both for purchase and for rent. Lots of events with a nice, large space for them. Phil, the owner, is awesome. Super friendly, and knowledgeable about the games in his shop.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting this board game shop, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. The selection of board games is absolutely fantastic, with an incredible variety to cater to every taste and level of expertise. The staff was not only knowledgeable but also incredibly friendly and eager to help. They made excellent recommendations and were happy to answer all my questions.

The shop itself is well-organized, making it easy to find what you're looking for, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Whether you're a seasoned board game enthusiast or a newbie looking to dive into this wonderful hobby, this shop has something for everyone.

I was also pleased to find a dedicated space for gaming events and gatherings. It's clear that they foster a sense of community among board gamers, which is a big plus in my book.

Overall, I can't recommend Game Masters enough. If you're looking for a wide selection, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and a welcoming atmosphere, this is the place to go. Five stars, and I'll definitely be returning for more gaming goodness!

Great place to learn, refine skills, or just come down for a good time. The owner is incredibly friendly and the crowd is knowledgeable but it's not a pub stomp type of place if you're newer to the games. Can't recommend more you come down and try a Friday night draft!

Amazing service, Phil REALLY knows his stuff, and seemed to have a recommendation for just about anything. The store was clean and very accommodating for anyone. I ended up chatting for the better part of an hour even before buying (way too much!). I will absolutely be returning.

Easily the best game store experience we've ever had. The owner was very nice and the $5 fee per person was very reasonable for the amenities you get: an entire board game library to borrow from, a clean playing space, and an amazing player base.

Coming from out of town we stopped by for Wednesday Night Commander and we were welcomed warmly and found a pod immediately. We played the whole night and had a blast, plus the Turner's tea selection was excellent.

Cannot recommend more, 10/10!

Phil has created an open, bright and amazing store and playspace for the community. His welcoming nature, genuine friendliness and all around good nature is evident in the community he has developed and maintains. If you have interest in tabletop or role playing games you really must visit his store.

New favorite game shop!! Phil was awesome and so helpful. We came in for dice, and to just check out the shop, and were blown away by the cozy atmosphere, great selection, and warm welcome. We will definitely be back!

Owner is super nice and the whole place was wheelchair accessible like extremely so . Came for a Tuesday game night. Huge beautiful collection of inhouse games to choose from. A very nice $5 game spot and collection of beverages. And just pay for everything at the end. I'll be back!!!

The owner, Phil is the best! He is friendly, welcoming, helpful, and knowledgeable. The new location in West View is spectacular - five times the size of the old location on Babcock. If he doesn't have what you want, and that likelihood is small considering the size of his stock, he will order it for you. This is truly one of the best game stores I've been to, and I have visited a LOT. I am not a paid spokesperson but if you're reading this, Phil, I'm willing to talk 🤣

Phil is the store owner and He's the nicest guy you'll meet, and knows a lot about pretty much every game in the store. Be sure to check this place out!

The selection of games is outstanding. If you ask the owner about any of the games he's able to talk extensively about all of them. Great little shop, it's very easy to spend half an hour reading the backs of games, looking at DnD miniatures or thumbing through modules. Small parking lot, but very easy to access.

Incredible place for all kinds of casual games to very advanced. Helpful friendly staff and regulars. Love the in-store game library setup and ability to rent games to try at home.

Who says local game stores are a dying breed? Gamemasters is the best and getting better everyday. Phil, the owner, is a great guy who can help you find the perfect game depending on your preferences. The new store is absolutely amazing and I am excited about all the new programs and opportunities.

Great store with a huge play area and a huge selection of board games to play or buy. Dedicated table top rpg spaces are great.

Game Masters is a great place for buying and playing board games, TTRPGs and TCGs. The selection is great, the rental library is also varied. Phil is a great guy, very personable and knowledgeable. If you have a question you can ask without judgement.

I would recommend this store for anyone interested in learning games or wanting to meet new people. A great place for families with children, older folks and everyone in between.
