Golden Key International Grocery Store

Well run privately owned family business. Has a good amount of items in the small sections and space it has.
I enjoyed my experience here. Minimum transaction amount by the way was $10 if you are using a card.

I just left Kathmandu Kitchen around the corner and was thinking about a dessert to take home when I saw this market. I saw the word bakery so we went inside to see what they had. There is a deli and International groceries, gifts and more. I enjoyed speaking with the owners from Armenia, Alik and Arina. They are so nice. My wife and friends and myself picked out some pre-packaged cookies and cake which we enjoyed back at the house. I wish I lived closer to this store, but will visit again when we dine at Kathmandu again. We come over from Jeffersonville, IN. There was a nice room in the back for private parties and a bigger room upstairs for Bigger parties. Arina told us she was preparing for a wedding coming up. It is so cool to have an International store like this in the neighborhood. The deli items looked fabulous. I may need to take some home when I get over there again. I didn't recognize any familiar items in the store. It was like being in another country. Alik gave us a sample of some peanut butter and chocolate mousse he makes. I bought a pound to take home. I'm glad he gave us a sample, else I wouldn't have known how good it was. This is a store worth checking out when you get time.

Friendly staff and pleasant 1st time experience.
If you want to try new foods the have a wide variety of different items.
If you like cheese cake, they have a large selection of frozen mini cheese cakes that are amazing.

Simply the BEST place in Louisville for Eastern European meats, sauce, bread, candy and everything in-between. I've been a customer for nearly TEN years now and love the place. German, Polish, Russian, Czech, Ukrainian - if you need a taste of Europe then this is the only Deli/store/shop in Louisville that can help you out.

Don't you DARE miss out on the home made sour cream, sour dough breads or under-the-counter caviar! Need some REAL veal pierogis? what about some Jaffa cake biscuits? Or Sprats, goulash or Halva? Golden Key is the place.

The ham, sausage, franks and salamis are just like back home!
Well worth the trip to Beuchel! Knackwurst, Pariser, Cabinossi, kvass, Knorr spices - soups OMG - it's all here!

Fantastic European Eastern/European Deli-Bakery. Full selection of Eastern European groceries and frozen foods. Local made and imported (frozen) European rye breads. The best in a many mile radius of Louisville for this type deli.

I stopped here out of curiosity and so glad I did. The owner told me how to make a sardine sandwich with hard boiled egg, Mayo, onion and pumpernickel bread. They also have homemade kolaches and borscht! Look for the frozen dumplings and perogis!!

This is a great place in Louisville! Unique market with an old fashioned neighborhood "corner store" feel. There are all kinds of fun and interesting products here for Eastern European and Russian cuisine, such as rye breads, jams and preserves, honey, sauces, teas, sweets, cold case drinks and juices, fresh produce, dairy, pierogies and pelmeni, dried and tinned fish, caviar, dairy (cheese, yogurt, butter, sour cream) and a HUGE assortment of deli meats and sausages (try the smoked beef and cured pork - YUM!). They also offer catering, and special events in their Tavern. The owner and other folks here are warm and friendly, and they have been especially gracious and helpful to me when I ask about products that are labeled in Russian (Cyrillic). I love unique shops like this!

I usually go all the way to Ft. Knox for German food. But decided to try something closer to home. I walked in and couldn't stop smiling! The selection is amazing, and it felt like we were back overseas for a bit. Thank you for the conversation and I cannot wait to come back with my dad next time!

I have driven past many times not even noticing but those days are over now I have it on my go to list now that I know what great European meats and cheeses they have. If you are like me and can not read labels not in English or would just like to know more about food you have never tried before the owner was more than happy to help . Don't drive by take time to stop.

Wonderful selection of European products, and great welcoming customer service

I went in there for the first time last month looking for a special gift for Christmas of only Russian treats. The lady was so helpful despite my American ignorance :-) I went in again today for all Ukrainian fare and this time I started with the other woman who was also super sweet but we had a little language barrier. The other lady showed up and was able to help me find everything I needed. I will be back again and again and hopefully next time my Russian will be better so I can communicate better. Will recommend this place to anyone!!

They have a very good selectoon if international foods (mostly Russian, Ukrainian, etc.) and a very nice and helping staff. The party room, which can be rented, is very nice and has a nice and large kitchen to work with. I really like coming here as it is very clean and easy to find things. The customers are always very nice and love to help people.

Its a small place, easy to miss, but once you find it, you will continue to return. I have purchased lots of chocolates and teas from various European countries, and the prices are reasonable. They also offer meats and refrigerated items, but I come back because of the kind owners and the great chocolates! Lovely little hole in the wall.

Ever since we moved to Kentucky around 7 years ago we have been shopping at this absolute awesome Russian market. Besides the Russian food there’s so many things you can find that made in Ukraine, several Baltic countries like Latvia or Lithuania, witch is fantastic. I consider myself Russian because I speak Russian language but I was born and raised in Latvia so it is very nice to see some produce from candy/cakes to fish, even bread from my mother land! To get to taste food I ate as a child ( that exact authentic food, same flavor) . Before I ended up here in United States, I’ve spent some time in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Germany, Polland, Estonia, Lithuania, for obvious reasons I know that food!!!!! And guess what, this store has it all !!!! I have visited so far several “Russian “ stores in LA California, Atlanta Georgia, but this is by far the best one! And that is why I love this store so much! Kudos to the owner! Good job! Keep it up! I hope I never get to see this store closed, me, my family, my kids have to have this store!!!!

I went to this store this past Sunday because my daughter and her friend had a school project and needed to bring in Russian food. The woman working there, along with her daughter, were so helpful.
I bought candy, cookies, and the stuff needed to make a dish the woman suggested. She even gave me two magazines for free because they were not the most recent editions and figured we were interested in learning Russian.
The kids' project was a success and I am very thankful to the people at this store. I will definitely shop here again.

Pretty typical for a Russian grocery in America. Heavy on things like candy, cookies, and cakes from Russia. Prices are high for similar American products, but not for things imported from eastern Europe, as there isn't much of a market for those things here. The staff were reasonably cordial, but not everyone was conversant enough in English to give much assistance, if required. Nice place to visit for unusual products and a touch of Russia.

Such a wonderful place! The store is clean and has a great selection of Russian and Eastern European foods, including fresh produce and fish! The owner is also very friendly :)
