Great Lakes Hobby & Train

Just visited this store for the first time. Can't believe I haven't been in here before. So many cool models and diecasts. Prices were decent, staff was friendly.

Been coming here for many many years now. Finally making way to writing a review. This hobbies shop make you feel like a kid all over again. From hot wheels, matchbox other die cast vintage cool stuff too. I like the model car selection that they. Always tons of different new inventory to choose from.

Great staff! Great products! Fun to bring my kids and they're grown up 😁 owner is really cool too. They really take care of you here. No complaints at all from me! Super stocked hobby shop. 👍🏾😁👍🏾

Love this place! Never know what you'll find. We live 2 hours away and my wife doesn't complain about coming here when she does the 40 min drive to a local hobby town. These small mom and pop stores really have the good selection and the knowledge that 99% of the chains don't, won't, and never have had. They even have layaway!

Damn near every model I've gotten since I started back up has come from here. I will always support the local hobby shop before looking for an online source.

Great selection of naval and military models, good source or Gundam and anime kits. Sci-fi kits are kinda tucked away by the diecast cars. And of course this is your go to for and Locomotive hobbyist.

Been going here since my dad brought me in when I was only 6 or so, I'm in my 30s now so if that doesn't tell you how good they are I dunno what will.

They have a massive selection of HO, O, and G scale. They had some N scale as well. They have the largest amount of locomotives in the area, maybe even Michigan. Some stuff is used and priced accordingly, and I got an amazing price on an unopened Athearn blue box SD40-2. Such an amazing shop!

Excellent location for all hobbies ranging from model trains to Warhammer 40k. Prices are also very reasonable compared to other other shops in the area.

This is a nicely stocked store. Lots of tools and supplies for your hobby, big selection of paints. Lots of model kits in all scales, plenty of books and magazines including some hard to find ones.

Becoming my main shop considering the owner of my truck is a few miles away....love this place!

Great place to go if you're looking for die-cast metal cars, and also, they have planes as well.

There are a lot of great varieties, but I'm trying to find more JDM cars.

This is by far the best hobby shop around. I have 3 stores within 4 miles of me and would rather drive the 15 to go to this store because I know I'll find what I want. If not I can quickly order it up, as they seem to have almost every connection you need in terms of model making. I do alot of table top stuff and have never had an issue getting any kit, paints or tools that I would need to making something.

The service is good, they answer phone calls quickly and never have been rude to me even when they were slammed in the 11 years I've been shopping here.

Great staff, lots of selections in railroad hobby and plastic models. Prices are fair and the staff is courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable. We try to visit at least every 2 months and it's well worth the trip for us.

We get all of our HO scale trains at Great Lakes! They have been feeding my recent Gundam addiction as well. There is also a fantastic slot car and warhammer selection available too.

I've been going there for quite a few years and have never had a problem. Polite staff, great selection of anything you want, trains, models, die cast, dollhouses, crafts etc. Yes, some prices have gone up because of the ridiculous inflation of 2022 but prices are far far better than the catastrophe in Flint. I'll keep shopping here.
