Eclectic and artistic. Visually appealing to book lovers. Love the stairs and fun rugs and little notes. Lots of windows and natural light. Fun books and neat sections. Great displays. Beatific corner building. I didn’t go upstairs but says there is a cafe!

Square Books in downtown Oxford, Mississippi is definitely the best place to find all books in this charming and historic university town.

It has an upstairs area with balcony to enjoy a cold drink, coffee or tea (no alcohol).

Hundreds of framed photographs adorn all the walls, depicting celebrities and authors who have shopped here.

Credit and debit cards are accepted and the entire store is delightfully air-conditioned.

Square Books is an independent bookstore located on the courthouse square in Oxford, MS. My wife and I always drop by when we are visiting Oxford. It’s one of the highlights of our trip!

If you love authentically unique places, you need to visit the store. It’s a so much better experience than the homogenized big box stores. The staff is friendly and helpful and the book selection is very nice. If you like bookstores, this is by far one of the best. Make a point to pay them a visit!

I always love stopping by when I'm in town. It's so beautiful here and they have great people running the place. Grab a book and some coffee here while you support local business. This place is a definite must if you're in the area.

One of the best bookstores I have ever been to! It makes you feel like you’re at your grandma’s house sipping on hot chocolate and reading your favorite book. There’s so much to look at and so many places to curl up and browse. There’s even a coffee bar upstairs! I’d live here if I could.

Very neat local book shop to browse. I even saw some books that I know are difficult to find in stores! They have a terrific selection. I also appreciate their stock of notecards and notebooks! Three levels, too, and the third level has a tucked away coffee bar and a balcony where you can read your purchases.

As everyone knows who has been here. All four of the Square Books are wonderful and staffed with great people. No trip to Oxford is complete without a visit and maybe a purchase from one of the Square Books bookstores all on the Oxford MS Square

The best bookstore in the South. Tremendous selection, top-notch staff, fast turnaround on orders. I love the speaker and readings series. They are a pillar of the Oxford community.

Fabulous book shop. Friendly, helpful service, comforting atmosphere. I like to shop at local, independent bookstores whenever I can as they enrich our lives and our communities.

Sets the standard for bookstores. They have a signed 1st editions club, a podcast, frequent author appearances, NyTimes book review for sale, and a well-chosen selection of new books (if you want used books they have a separate location down the street). A bonus is that it near Faulkner's home, Rowena Oak.

I went to the children's book store and was really impressed. I did a price check comparison with Amazon and this book store actually beat amazon prices on the items I purchased. I will be back.

Square books is an amazing place, I have a service animal and not once have they made me feel unwelcome or uncomfortable.

While visiting friends in the area, they suggested stopping by this quaint little book store. Our boys were all engaged with finding books and toys for their unique ages. Our oldest had to be limited on his selection but still came away with 4 books, two of which were signed by the author. Our middle son, who isn't much of a reader, found a book that suited him perfectly. The youngest had his heart set on a stuffed animal and a magic treehouse book. Not a cheap excursion, but well worth the experience and time spent. If you're in the area, I'd highly recommend stopping by as I know we will likely return with enthusiasm.

My absolute favorite bookstore in the world. A curated collection of books that will draw you in at every shelf. Locally owned and socially conscious, this is a great location to support with your money. There's an ice cream and coffee spot upstairs, chairs to sit and leaf through books, and a selection of unique gifts and stationary. The art, poetry, history, and science sections of the store are wonderfully stocked. Even the gift wrap at this store is gorgeous. An absolute must-visit place for any bibliophile.

Lots of books to choose from with many signed copies if that is your thing. Staff is very knowledgeable and helpful.

I love this book store! I could spend hours in there. And I love that they have signed first editions from my favorite author! Definitely a place to check out if you’re in town!
