Trader Joe's remains one of the best places in Chicago, if not the country, to buy reasonably priced staple foods and specialty items. I became a regular shopper at TJ's when I lived in California a decade ago, and even though the Midwest locations do not always have the same level of fresh produce in the winter months (this is the Midwest, after all) as their California locations do, the price and quality of what they do have cannot be beat. I noticed today that a carton of eggs at a WalMart supercenter on the westside was still more expensive than the TJ eggs, not to mention the bread, cheese and wine selection. No, Charles Shaw is no longer 2-buck Chuck, nor is it especially drinkable, but they always have a healthy stock of Spanish, Italian and French wines for under $10 that far exceeds the quality of what can be had for a similar price at nearly any other shop in the city of Chicago. Staff are friendly and it is always a quick in and out. I also appreciate the fresh local items, like local pretzel bread for only 99 cents. Still one of the best grocery options in Chicago, and much shorter queues than any of the Jewel, Aldi or WalMart stores in the area. Just PLEASE PLEASE restore Joe's whole bean dark roast coffee. There are coffee grinders in all your stores for a reason. Kick the ground coffee once and for all. Otherwise, keep up the good work.

The workers there were the best. They were open to helping me. The young lady saw my confusion and came over right away and helped me.. The cashier is beautiful, friendly and funny. I really felt good about my shopping experience 😊

I was so happy when I found out that there was a Trader Joe's so close to Bridgeport. This is a smaller version, but it is still fantastic and super easy to get to via the Orange or Green Line. They have a wonderful selection and quality of fresh fruits and veggies to choose from, as well as more exotic pieces that you can't get at the closer neighborhood stores. The lines are always busy but the staff is very efficient and courteous. They have a wonderful array of fresh cut flowers. Their meat and egg selection is out of this world. Personally, I believe that they have the best tasting brand of salmon lox available. I highly recommend visiting this Trader Joe's!

This location offers a world class shopping experience. The store is easily navigated and extremely well stocked with both kitchen staples and fun, unique items. Offering wine, liquor, and beer, and frequent tastings of such items, the staff are pleasant and well trained.

Ive been looking for fresh whole baby corn for a good two years now. The same ones that come in Chinese food and are usually brined in a can. No store anywhere had them fresh, until now. Along with this rarity they had a good variety of baby seasonal veggies including young broccoli, baby carrots, and radishes in a rainbow of colors. Good selection of meats (heirloom chicken!) And many frozen "ethnic" convenience foods. A good place to shop.
Edited to add the wafer cookie. Omg if I knew how good these were I've have gotten more than one. I highly recommend it.

Visiting from a place without Trader Joe’s. Had a great time shopping. Then my kid got enough stickers to mummify a small pharaoh.

I went around 10:30am on a weekday and it was lovely. Store was well stocked and everyone was friendly. The only weird thing is how produce is so far from yogurt. I was meal prepped but had to go across the store a few times deciding on items. Parking lot is super small but I found a spot. Here’s a photo of my haul. The moon cookies are epic!

Not sure but... a few reviews in here found bugs in their produce. Please note that salad needs to be WASHED before eating. These people didn’t do this.

No reason to not love Trader Joe’s. The employees are so friendly and very helpful. The products are amazingly unique and affordable. Creative products that are so wonderful. Wonderful customer service. I am always charmed.

I had been a while since I shopped at Trader Joe's, and upon my return, I was pleasantly enthusiastic to be back. If you are looking to add greens in your life, this is the place for you. They have plenty of pre packed salads, good cereal, and meat to choose from at a reasonable price. Their freezer section is like no other grocery store. If you're in the neighborhood, I recommend you go inside.

Great location to access, whether public transportation or driving. It's very popular, so parking can be a challenge, but there is street parking. Trader Joe's is one of a few grocery stores that has a wide selection of organic items. It's a great place to find rare ingredients, a variety of non-dairy food items, fresh produce, and beautiful flowers. Staff is super friendly and always goes above and beyond to help.

2023 Update: I now live next door and it is awesome to be able to have access to fresh, affordable, and sometimes free food!

2018 review: I love all Trader Joe’s but this one especially since it has the freshest fruit selection. Lots of parking which is very convienent for the location, and the staff is super nice and helpful. Wanted to try a new beer and after asking about my likes or other beers I drink, i got a recommendation that was actually really good AND cheap 💗 I think what I buy most here is the green chili tamales in th frozen section. They are in a corn husk and taste as authentic as if they were homemade. I ask get avocados here for an amazing price, and they are always the perfect amount of ripeness.

Great selection of products. You must check out their liquor department it is a wide selection at a phenomenal price. To top it off great customer service.

Love Trader Joe's. Interesting food and wine selections at affordable prices. Clean store, and super friendly staff.

I thought this was a rich people store for the past 20 years but I just bought 4 big bottles of wine for $11. Shout out Gucci Pineapple
