Second Sole

They take time to listen and to fit appropriately for your stride and your level of activity. I purchased a shoe I loved about 6-7 months ago. I found myself in need of a new pair, so I called, had a discussion with Dale, and my new pair arrived at my vacation destination 3 days later. Great service!

By far the best specialty running store I've experienced ... I'm visiting from NYC for the holidays, and when I mentioned to a family friend that I needed new running shoes, they instantly recommended Second Sole, and I'm glad they did! While New York has many brand flagships and specialty shops (Paragon, SuperRunner, etc), the service is almost always poor & disinterested, and inventory (esp at SuperRunner) is very spotty ... The fellow who helped me at Second Sole was both patient and well-informed, and while I walked out with what I intended to buy in the first place, it was very useful to be able to try on a number of viable alternatives I never would have considered, without feeling rushed. Very good selection of other gear & clothing ... A great local small business worth supporting!

Great store. Always helpful. This is where I purchase my work shoes. If your feet are important. You need to get the right fit. Go here. Check it out. They will help you. I will be back there for my next pair as well.

This place was absolutely wonderful and the workers there were excellent to deal with. I’m bad with names so I forget the gentleman‘s name but I walked in and explained to him that I needed some quality cushioned running shoes and he assisted me very well. He measured my feet and had me walk around a little bit to see how my walk was and then brought some shoes out that he recommended based on these factors. I would definitely recommend this place and highly suggested to anyone that needs help finding the right running shoes. Employees were very hands-on with helping me.

I walked in 5 minutes before they closed. I was greeted by Dale who answered our questions. He took the time to make sure my son got the best fit and most comfortable shoes. Thanks Dale! I’m definitely going to be a returning customer!

Great shop. Went in to buy some shoes for my son. They took care of everything he needed. I had an issue with some shoes I bought a few weeks earlier, they took care them, no questions asked. I will be buying all our athletic shoes from there for now on.

Highly knowledgeable staff, measured my feet and got me a few pairs of shoes that were my size and width, tried on various pairs and found the pair that worked for me. First time buyer from this local store, and I will be back again.

Every employee always has an amazing work ethic and knowledge of the product. Plus, they are truly invested in helping the customer.

I recently bought a pair of Brooks from this here, and although I had a great experience with the purchase (staff were very friendly and helpful), I returned the shoes after one run as I wasn’t happy with the fit for me. The return process was easy and the staff were (again) incredibly helpful in finding me another pair.

I had wonderful service during my visit to Second Sole! The shoes at the location are higher priced, but all extremely high quality. I paid the exact same price for my shoes that I would have if I purchased them online through another seller. Only at Second Sole, I was fit by an expert, instead of having to guess on a size through online shopping! PLUS I was supporting a small business in my community! I WILL be back and will recommend this place to anyone and everyone!

I've walked into a few different shoe stores, and look online with no luck. I am over whelmed by the options, the ones I try on don't fit right and look funny. I know the price tag is heavy for a good pair of shoes. I walked in, was asked if I needed help I said yes. I told him 12 hrs on the hospital floor. He measured my feet, watched me walk, asked colors. Came out with 5 pair. I preferred the feel of one but said too tight, he brought me another pair similar. It was perfect. I will absolutely be going back for more when I need them.

This was my first time in a shoe store that isn't a national chain, and I'll be back - both to support local business, and because the service was great. There were plenty of staff available at noon on a weekday, and the man I worked with was very knowledgeable and attentive. I had exactly what I needed on my second try, within 3 minutes. The store appears to have a good selection, with plenty of stock out of sight. Prices seemed to be around MSRP from my quick glances, so not the bottom dollar you can find from international retailers, but worth it for the helpful staff.

I've been here before, and they were super helpful. I came in today, and they were again super helpful—love my arch support.
As a medical student, I am quite glad they have a mask policy right now. “J B"s one star review below (being angry they wouldn’t let him in without a mask) reveals a selfish person’s belief that his comfort is more important than the safety of others, customers and employees alike. Not the brightest stance to take. Can’t wait to have him show up in the hospital 🥺🤥.

Just another kudos to a top quality organization - one of many shops. I ran with the founder, Steve Hixson - at Liberty High School cross country and was in Youngstown with my partner for hip replacement surgery. Driving by this store on 224 after a doctor visit I stopped in on a flyer. Shop looks GREAT (serious runners and athletes) and even better (karma and tribute to a hands on owner) Steve was in and we caught up (including his son in law providing top notch customer service). GO, you won't be disappointed!

Very knowledgeable staff, and beyond helpful when buying new shoes. They help pick the right one for the right activity you plan to use the shoes for, and must say their experience has helped ensure i get the most out of my shoes. They also only sell (from what I can see) high quality shoes. You may spend more on a shoe from here, but I can tell you from years of experience in buying from them, that a shoe from second sole will last you. For sure the best place in town to purchase from, and way better than any chain store.

I had an EXTREMLY nice in this store today! I got in and got approached with the standardised "how can I help you etc." But when I said i need track shoes he when straught to measuring, looking at me walk and slow jog and recommended some shoes and I was able to have a very nice talk with the employee, wish I would have asked for the name to give credit :/, and the while overall experience felt amazing. Would go here again and definitely recommend this place!

Got shoes for my first year running Cross Country. Fit perfect and lasted for more than 500 miles. Still had good grip even after I should of gotten new ones.
