This review is mostly about the taqueria. They make a good burrito. All the meat choices and one of the few places in the area that actually have beef lengua (look it up) on hand every time. Slightly pricey at $12 for a “super” that comes with cheese and guacamole.

Newly opened Mexican market. Clean, bright, fully stocked. Shelves totally full, better stocked than Safeway and Lucky. Lots of unique Mexican items. For sure heading back and bringing kids to show them. Great opportunity for my kids to try out the Spanish that they are learning in school. The sweet corn tamales in the freezer section has piqued my curiosity. There's even Mexican instant ramen made by Nissan. Love seeing all the Goya brand products. 😎🤠🥳

This store was nice and clean. It was well organized and the isles are spacious too. The business has a very homey atmosphere. The ladies at the taqueria were very friendly and attentive. Their carne asada fries are very good and the fried platanos were perfect. I will definitely be returning.

The food is so authentic my mother is jealous and says she doesn't need to cook anymore.

It's a coo little place to get something to eat. The flautas was pretty good and the refried beans and Mexican rice they had was also on hit. Yummy foe my tummy!!

Nice clean store and well stocked. I really appreciate the selection of South American products from Brazil, Peru, etc. You don't often find those. Only reason for deducting a star is the prices being very high compared to similar stores.

This is for the taqueria. I really like the grocery store.I give 3 stars because I like the store…but I will never have the tacos at this taqueria again. I know this is a new store so maybe it will improve. Super tacos here are 6 bucks. I have been to many places and the super tacos have beans, cheese, a good portion of meat and avocado. This taco at Chavez was minimal meat, and tasted like a pico de gallo taco with guacamole , no beans and again … a tiny amount of meat. For 6 bucks… The Tortilla was so under cooked. And the taco gushed , sour cream , guac and shredded cheese. Sounds good right!? Well it wasn’t. It also tasted like a was just eating pico de gallo, and I couldn’t find the meat. And it was so cold from the meat not being hot and all the toppings they put were overwhelming and cold. I totally regret spending 20 bucks on 2 tacos and a drink. I’m actually sad about it. I should have known when they measured the meat that it was not going to be good. And it was not the employee who made the food’s fault ( who was obviously in training) He was following instructions from a different guy who was over his shoulder telling him what to do and then practically making the food for Him instead of letting him make the tacos. Anyhow. Never again…

Clean, and we'll organized store. Bought some cooked Carnitas that was way overcooked and dry. The prices rival that of Trader Joe's,

Usually really like this place but went for carnitas this morning only to be told they don't have it until after 9am. Waste of time.

I've lived in the area for 13 years now. I have never paid $7.99 for 1 pound of ground beef but I did last week. Also they had a regular jar of best food mayo $7.99 that I left! I did need to get a jar of ragu at 5 bucks a jar! I'll stick to Fresco market, lesson learned! Also their cooked food looked super old early in the morning. Read the reviews, they need to relocate to somewhere else! I need that mom and pop Mexican grocery store! Only good thing I can say is the store is clean. I've been there 2 times and felt bad after both shopping trips.

I’m personally never buying anything from their deli (carnicería) anymore. Aside from one of the carniceros in the afternoon who lacks customer service skills, 3 times this summer I bought something and each time it tasted old and went bad after 2 days because it wasn’t fresh when they sold it. The first time I bought ensalada de nopales, the second time ensalada de pollo (which hurt my stomach for a few days) and the last time I only bought their grated cotija in those small plastic containers and after day 3 I found blue moldy cheese in the middle/bottom of the container. To be fair I should’ve used my better judgement because when I was shopping (each time was in the morning) their food kind of looked like it had been sitting there for more than a day, didn’t look fresh but I thought “na, they wouldn’t do that”. The 1 star is only for all the other really nice employees, the spacious really clean store and for the food at the restaurant by the exit. Selling old/bad food can cause food poisoning. Not ok.
