I worked there in the 90’s when I was in my early 20’s when I was a struggling musician. It was a great place to work and the never ending stream of celebs that frequented the place made it more fun. You never knew who would walk through the door. Glad to see it’s still around.

They have household items even Home Depot doesn't have, and there's always plenty of knowledgeable people to help you right away. I wouldn't go anywhere else, Kuntz is the best.

I love this little hardware store and the middle of West Hollywood. It's like a mini Lowe's with all the essentials and more.

If the other guy doesn’t have it Kuntz has it. I n the 1980s a mover broke a piece of furniture. No one had the part. Kuntz had it. I live in the Valley if I can’t find it I drive to Kuntz. One time they didn’t carry a part, the gave me the name of the distributor. I called the distributor, they deal in discontinued parts and I got the right part. Saved me big bucks otherwise I would have had to replace the entire unit.

A true throwback in terms of neighborhood feel & customer service, yet conveniently modern in all of their offerings… which stretch well beyond hardware. A lot of what was lost in Bed, Bath & Beyond can also be found here.

I have never felt compelled to review a hardware store but for a neighbourhood spot this is just too good. Lots of inventory, helpful kind employees, thoughtful layout. Great place!

Most excellent service, fair prices, and an unexpected great selection of kitchenware. My first stop for hardware.

I called looking for tools to repair my dishwasher and Burt completely walked me though the problem over the phone and helped me fix it without even needing to purchase any tools. Burt was so nice and extremely knowledgeable. I’ve also purchased many tools over the years and have found the staff very helpful and educated, able to diagnose problems and offer solutions so I can fix things myself. Thank you!

I love this store because I am a do-it-yourselfer, and I can trust the staff to give me solutions usually to problems I can't figure out on my own, and the products they sell me have always been top quality products. The staff have all been there since the beginning of time, and they are knowledgeable and anxious to help. I have the strong impression that the store does not sell any garbage that breaks quickly, which you might find at other stores. This hardware store seems to be very concerned about serving their customers well by only selling good quality products and providing excellent service. The prices often are a little higher than Amazon, but if we don't patronize stores like this one, there will be nowhere to go for [1] reliability good quality hardware, or for [2] knowledgeable helpful advice that we do it yourselfers often need.

This is a local gem! Incredibly nice, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Large and well stocked store. This is the best way to support a local business in these times! If I can avoid going to a big box store at all, this is my first choice for a hardware store. I don't even care if my receipt is a dollar or 2 more if it helps keep this 83 year old business operating and it's always so much fun to browse around in there. Highly recommended

Very knowledgeable staff, especially Eric in the back by the keys.

The manufacturer for a piece of furniture I bought had given me the wrong screws, he was able to instantly identify the proper size & thread to solve the error.

Koontz has always been out go-to hardware store and lately they’ve been more helpful than ever. Aside from their fair prices, Will and Gene are awesome! Their customer service is amazing, I can’t begin to express how grateful I am for their help and patience! Thanks, Koontz!

Koontz has been a godsend over my years in West Hollywood. It’s always nice to see the familiar faces of the staff, who are always standing by to help navigate the wonderfully jam-packed, eclectic aisles. And they offer Girl Scout cookies when they are in season!!

The last remnant of real hardware stores. I love it when I have clients in this area because I get to visit what feels like home and support a local business. There's a reason they've been able to last as long as they have with the amount of big box competition that they have. Bottom line, go here if you're within 5 MI or more depending on the area.

I first went to Koontz Hardware on July 7,2020 and to say I was overwhelmed by the store's layout, selection, and mostly the experienced journeyman staff there is an understatement of mammoth proportion! It reminded me of the old 'Clark and Dye Hardware' store in Orange County in the 70's, I couldn't believe it!
The staff is very helpful and friendly, in particular A.B. and Gene whom I found to be of class ilk nowadays virtually gone, with knowledge of exactly what you need, the right what you need, and all the knowledge about it, which I've not experienced in 40+ years. Kudos to both of them and Koontz Hardware!👍

P.S. Blanca and the ladies in the front are also very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable.

One of the last truly great hardware stores! These guys really know their stuff and aren't stingy about sharing their knowledge. Yes, you'll generally pay more than at a warehouse store, but you can be in and out in five minutes here, rather than spending ten minutes looking for a place to park! =;-{>

Koontz Hardware is a dying breed of the quintessential neighbor hardware store where they do their best to help the customer.
Yes, Koontz's prices are a little higher than Home Depot & Lowes, but their employees are specialists well versed in the specific departments they work in and almost always able to give the right advice to help solve tge issues and problems customers walk into the store with and present.
I only wish their hours were a little longer, but that's not picking.

In the era of big box hardware stores, Koontz Hardware is a throwback to a time gone by. This is the ultimate neighborhood hardware store. If you needed it, they most likely have it. Thankfully they have very friendly and knowledgeable sales people that can help you navigate the maze of floor to ceiling aisles to help you find exactly what you need (check out the very back of the store for several floor to ceiling aisles of nothing but every type of drawer or cabinet knob imaginable). These people are not only helpful when it comes to locating the product you need, they are also extremely knowledgeable in all types of home related repairs and renovation projects. Share your renovation idea with them and they will happily share with you the different options and alternatives they have available to not only make your project easier to do but also to give it that extra wow factor. You do not get service like this at a big box store. If you start coming here regularly their staff will remember your first name after only 3 or 4 visits making you feel like one of the Koontz Hardware family in no time. This is a hardware store where everyone knows you name, remembers the projects you were/are working on and are genuinely interested in how those projects are progressing. You will never want to go back into a big box hardware store once you have had the pleasure of letting the staff at Koontz help you with all of you repair or renovation needs.
