Nude Foods Market Reviews

I wasn't sure what to expect from Nude Foods Market based on the reviews. Is it a grocery store? A prepared food shop? Is the buying process complicated, given the zero waste philosophy? Everyone seems to love it, though, so I went for the first time last weekend with my 4-year-old and my mom. I have to say: I was absolutely delighted.

Basically, Nude Foods is a small grocery store (think: the size of the Pear St. Whole Foods dining area, if that) with a zero waste goal. Everything that needs a container is sold in a jar or in a cloth bag. The store also has various items that nudge you toward sustainability, like metal drinking straws and silicon sandwich bags.

Most of the prices are impressive. That first day we went, I was able to snag two frozen loaves of bread -- one from Great Harvest and one from Dry Storage -- for half of what I'd pay at either of those businesses. Nude Foods has fresh Dry Storage bread every day for the same price as what it is at Dry Storage. (I'd rather buy the bread from Nude Foods, though, because I like the cloth bread bags.) The prices that aren't impressive are justified because of the cost of the ingredients or the labor. There's also a lot of cool local stuff, like Susan's Samosas and fresh milk from a Longmont dairy.

The general vibe is really cool and casual. Obviously, I don't feel comfortable letting my 4-year-old do his own thing when we're at Whole Foods or at King Soopers. At Nude Foods, though, he's just as happy browsing as I am, and we browse separately because the store is so small. (It's such a refreshing feeling to be able to do that when you are the parent to small children.) Both times that I've checked out, the cashiers have been very kind. The first time, I bought bananas that were past their prime, and the cashier unexpectedly gave me a discount on them.

Here's where I'm going with this rambling review: you should definitely check this place out. It's not a one-stop shop, but I think that with our collective patronage, it certainly can be in the future! Historically, I haven't gone out of my way to be sustainable, but love the concept behind Nude Foods, and it does inspire me to think more about packaging and waste. A big bonus is that once I'm done with my items, I just return the packaging to the store during my next trip there ... no need to recycle or trash anything. Five stars from this happy customer!

Nude Foods is a completely unique offering for Denver/Boulder folks who are looking to change their consumption habits for the better. Their grocery delivery service has been consistently excellent and their weekly meal kits have been a lifesaver while I’ve been in medical school. It’s the best feeling to cook and eat meals and then have nothing to throw away at the end of it! I cannot recommend this local business enough. They have an inspiring mission that deserves all the support it can get.

This place is AWESOME! Today was my first time here and I’m so glad that my local co-op in Ned told me about this place! They have so many great bulk foods that are already packaged in jars for you, so all you have to do is return your jar and get a new one filled up! I’m so grateful to have found a new zero waste store! I was able to get almost all the ingredients on bulk for my gluten free bread recipe, as well as coconut oil! Next time I come back I’ll be sure to fill up my laundry detergent and dish soap!

Nude Foods is taking bulk zero waste groceries to a whole new level. It's important. Single-use containers are about 10% of our U.S. carbon footprint, and our planet needs all the help it can get. I love that I can get potato chips without a single-use bag, made locally from local organic potatoes. Just a joy!

I love the eco-conscious approach that Nude Foods is committed to; no packaging is the way to go! Great foods from small area businesses are found here, along with Nude Foods own creations and full meals. Excellent staff and great choices mean I will be back here many times--especially after the Farmers Market season is over!

I’ve been a Nude Foodie : ) for about 6 months and I am so impressed to watch this company grow and change! Their core offerings are rescued produce subscriptions, but there is so much more - from household food staples and household cleaners, to delicious soups, granola and raw chocolates, Nude Foods provides *a lot* of what I need/want AND in zero-waste packaging. At first, Nude Foods was delivery-only, but the company now has a store front - fantastic for when you forgot to order something or just want to browse offerings in person. Now Nude Foods is offering meal subscriptions (!) and I couldn’t be more thrilled. We’ve subscribed to a mail meal service for years and while this service has improved on reducing its packaging, the amount of packaging still makes me wince AND it is being shipped from California. Oh, we also have to make those meals, too! So, YES, I am psyched to have the option of purchasing three zero-waste delicious, ready-made meals each week in addition to everything else. Keep up the great work, Nude Foods - you rock!

Everyone that works here is friendly and helpful. It’s a well stocked store where you can find most things on your grocery list. Don’t miss their fresh salsa in the fridge section and unique array of soups in the frozen section!

Local gem brought forth by a wishing star! I have been searching for a place with refillable soap bins, bulk items, and locally sourced food for the last year. Now that it’s open, I didn’t expect it to also be WELL PRICED and ADORABLE!!! Honestly, I’m surprised Boulder was even allowed to claim its eco-friendly, granola MO without this store.

I highly recommend giving Nude Foods Market a try. The small box is just enough to add into meals for the week without feeling overwhelmed by produce. All produce has been lovely. It's fun to shop each week and see what local foods they have rescued. I've been able to try several new local brands that I might not have found otherwise. This is a great way to purchase bulk foods as well. Everything comes in returnable glass jars or fabric bags. Feel good food. Buy the Verde sauce... it's amazing.

Simply the best. Quality food, excellent customer service, locally sourced, and a regenerative, sustainable ethic that needs be the national model to reduce consumption, pollution, and emissions. Thank you for taking the risk to go back to a more community oriented model.

I LOVE NUDE FOODS!! I get it delivered to my place in Denver and I love that it comes via EV. They are so thoughtful about sourcing and have always been so approachable when I have a question or suggestion. The prepared foods are awesome, you should definitely try the salsa and the meals, fantastic. They really cover almost all of my grocery needs and the fact that I can do that in one weekly delivery with NO packaging really makes my heart sing. I save the earth, my time, and money. Try them!!

We just had a great family grocery biking adventure to Nude Foods Market! We found everything on our list except mustard seeds and sushi wraps. Such a great selection and so many delicious prepared foods. The staff was welcoming and helpful. The store was clean and organized. And our family is so happy to be leaving with our food in jars and no plastic bags!

Grocery store of the future! Zero waste, delightful shopping experience, and friendly staff.

I really appreciate that the selection is curated so every item is vetted to be healthy for you and the planet. Rather than spending time traversing an aisle with 27 different types of tortilla chips, at Nude Foods, there are just a few good options. So shopping is faster and doesn't leave you with decision fatigue. Rather than getting home and having 1/3 of your tortilla chips in the non-recyclable bag crushed to crumbs, Nude Foods' durable, reusable packaging means that nearly every chip arrives home a perfect triangle. Amazing!

Making more sustainable, healthier choices can be absolutely delicious and INSANELY EASY with Nude Foods.

Here’s what I love about Nude Foods:
- Fresh, organic, LOCAL, seconds(!) produce
- Delivered straight to your door by bicycle
- Compared with massive, unsustainable food systems, the descriptors above make Nude Foods such an impactful choice
- Opening the produce box is like Christmas (or other non-denominational gift-giving holiday of your choosing) every Wednesday!
- I hardly ever have to go grocery shopping, and it’s faster when I do
- It’s far easier than a CSA, every step of the way
- They provide clear info about where all their food comes from
- The people are kind, and passionate about food and zero waste
- One of their bike messengers gave me a great recipe for baba ganoush

I am, through and through, a Nude Foodie. Give it a try—you won’t be sorry.

Before shopping here I never realized how overwhelming and irritating a normal grocery store is: too many options, most of them unhealthy and unappetizing. Even at Whole Foods, So much time scanning through the junk for what I would actually put in my body. Nude is ONLY the things I actually want eat and feel good eating. It makes the whole experience relaxing and fun.

Nude Foods Market is wonderful! I’m so glad I decided to check them out! The zero waste concept is brilliant. And they have so many great products that I have on hand all the time now. These include spiced pepitas, beet chips, carrot chips, and spicy plantain chips. So good! And the staff is always friendly and helpful. Thank you Nude Foods, for bringing your awesome store to Boulder!

Nude Foods gives me hope for the future. Over the past couple months I've been slowly integrating Nude Foods into my regular grocery routine. I've found that I can stock most of my pantry goods, dish soap/laundry detergent/body wash, and other beauty products here without creating unnecessary waste. This makes me feel really good. Every time eat all my chips and hummus or salad greens and find I have nothing to through away I feel like I am making a difference. Though very small, I can imagine if this system like what Nude Foods is introducing became mainstream we would create a lot less trash.

Nude Foods also makes a lot of their refrigerated and frozen food in their own kitchen! They make great hummus that is a better deal than most other stores as well as soups, dressings, and a whole bunch of stuff I haven't tried. They even have a weekly menu of prepared meals that you can sign up for each week.

There are many great things about Nude Foods that I love. Go check it out yourself! I always think to myself, if Natural Grocers combined with Nude Foods and then integrated a small meat counter and a little deli it'd be the perfect grocery story. Zero waste, all organic, quality products that strengthen local economy, and a one stop shop.

Thank you peeps at Nude Foods for all you do. You are appreciated.
