I love this place. I moved here in 86 and this was the only hardware store around. I love that it still has that small town feel and everybody in there is so knowledgeable. Prices are comparable to any of the big stores

The store is clean and well organized. The employees are knowledgeable and helpful. They have packed a lot of material into this modest establishment.

I went into Churchland Hardware to have a key made... There was the nicest young gentleman who helped us. He shared a funny story about his grandmother, after my daughter commented on a few "Humorous, but True" signs on display! I know we will return to make other purchases, because of that real neighborhood store atmosphere!!!

A real gem, a pleasure to shop there. Not anxiety provoking like Home Depot or Lowe's.

If you live in/near Churchland, give this place a shot before you head to Home Depot/Lowes. They have a lot of inventory covering a very wide variety of products. Prices are very comparable to the “big box” stores on most items. If you’re looking for specific nuts/bolts/screws, you’re honestly better off here than Home Depot/Lowes as they have a whole back section dedicated to just that. Staff are always friendly and can help you find what you’re looking for within seconds. Highly recommended local shop. If anything, shop local folks; this place is a gem.

So convenient to call and have all my questions answered. Has better service than large-scale chain hardware stores.

Has everything you need in a hardware store.

As a small business I have been in this place almost weekly for over 25 years. They are always willing to guide and suggest. They may not always have everything I need but who does. I highly recommend stopping in. They surprise me often with some of the crazy things you’d never guess they DO have.

One on one service when I was there. In a time of big box stores it was a pleasant change. GREAT SELECTION OF quality yard flags.

The store always has the best customer service, smiley faces, and they're always greeting you when you walk in. I always prefer going here first before walking into a big box store.

Excellent customer service! Always friendly and helpful. In and out quicker than the drive to home depot. Small store so the don't have everything, but usually they have the pieces you need.

Always prefer to shop local, and this place may be small, but it's packed with SO MUCH of what you'll need! Staff is always friendly and helpful. Grateful to have this little gem right around the corner!

Even if I didn't do my best to keep my business in Portsmouth. I would come here for everything I possibly could. It's simple you get the help you need with the experience to back it. They are not everything to everybody but they are good at the things they are.

I love this place. So much more convenient than going to one of the big name stores. It has everything I need and the staff are eager to help you find what it is that you need. No wandering around trying to find things. The prices are also very reasonable. I highly recommend this hardware store, especially if you live nearby.

Went in looking for a key locker, it was my third stop. Should have been my first. They are always helpful and usually have exactly what I'm looking for.

The store has more than what Lowe's carries they have hard to find interns and the service is very good

They have really improved over the years... They have just about everything,g you need as far as your hardware needs, they have really nice people working there, willing to help and to give assistance, much quicker than the bigger hardware stores, nice country store feel... The prices are comparable to other stores
