The Chubby Cupboard

We usually buy from them at the farmers market but they finally opened up their brick-and-mortar store! Their pasta is so yummy! Not only is it super fresh but it's handmade too! The owner is so sweet and willing to answer your questions about what to cook your pasta with! Definitely coming back again soon!

We bought two kinds of pasta and both were very fresh and delicious! I rarely get to eat fresh homemade pasta so this was a treat! One was lemon flavored and the other one was red and was a beet pasta but I didn’t taste the beet flavor. They also have cooking classes here. My only complaint was that the pasta did not have an expiration date or any cooking instructions and only one of them had ingredients. We just made sure to make them within a few days and just cooked a short while until done.

I am so excited the chubby cupboard now has a brick and mortar store front because now I can get more of this delicious pasta instead of just on Saturdays at the farmers market. I’ve always just used normal store bought pasta but trying this pasta made me realize how big of an impact high quality pasta makes when cooking. I’ve tried several different types of pasta here and they have all been great. The owner Mari has also always taken the time to explain the different types of pasta and dishes they work best in. Definitely some of the best pasta in Sac.

Happy they were able to get a permanent fixture spot, makes getting their limited-run pastas much easier and much more convenient!! (Was always easy before to get pastas, but nice also to have the brick and mortar too!) Pasta is always tasty and Mari has great recs on what pairs well and what sort of sauce to get too!

Lol my photo skills are not up to par but such delicious fresh pasta to cook at home. The owner was super sweet and helpful! Can't wait to come back! So happy to have them in carmichael!
