Benson’s Gun Shop

Started coming to this shop recently as it is just a few miles away from my favorite outdoor range. The staff have been welcoming and knowledgeable. Nick has offered very personal service every time I visit. Good selection and prices are fair.

I've been coming here for as long as they've been opened.
I go nowhere else to buy my guns. I have never had bad service and the people who work there are very knowledgeable. I have never been treated like a customer. I have always been treated like a friend.
It's the type of place where you feel good. Spending your money.

Love this place, service is great very attentive,great selection and if they don't have it they can get it for you. Guys there are cool, very helpful and informative. They treat you like family. Best experience.

Absolutely fantastic shop. Husband and I got our first shotgun here and could not be happier with the service we received throughout the process. I would recommend this place to everyone and anyone and cannot praise this shop enough. Henry took his time with us going over each shotgun we asked about and gave us a tutorial with loading. Again, such an awesome shop and will be a returning customer.

Best gun shop around! Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Helped me with a xmas gift for my son ,took the time to answer all my questions. Best of all, the prices are far better than other local shops in my area(LI Gun source). Thanks again, and I will see you soon .

Benson's was suggested by a friend. It was one of the BEST shopping experiences ever. I started my search for my first handgun last December. Benson's was my first stop. I met Henry (for the first time) and he spent 45 minutes with me answering EVERY question I had. I told him I was not ready to purchase a gun. I had just started navigating the overwhelming array of options. He never tried to sell me anything.
I ventured out taking advice from gun owners. Everyone has their favorite stores and shared their opinion. I visited four other shops on Long Island. Each sales person was professional and patient. I decided to return to Benson's because of my first experience with Henry as well as their selection.
When I arrived, Dominic greeted me with the same laid back "how can I help you attitude" that Henry had previously. Our discussion was paused due to a customer who know what he wanted, I said I can wait. Two minutes later Henry approached me. I told him Dominic was helping me. Dominic told Henry where we were and Henry picked up where we left off.
I do not know how to express my gratitude for the time spent with Henry. It was like working with an old friend. There was no moment in the nearly two hours I was there that Henry tried to sell me. I honestly believe if I decided I was not satisfied with the options he would have guided me further. The fact is, I went into the store with a wish list of four guns. I purchased a gun (not on the list) that best suited my needs based on Henry's knowledge of ALL of the products and his gentle guidance. Again, no sales pressure.
When I had narrowed the search to two, I asked Henry if we could go through the background check process. He said sure and let me circle the store one more time still asking questions. Dominic came over between customers to answer questions.
Finally, Uncle Nick rang up the purchase and guided me through the accessories that come with buying a handgun. Once again, NO PRESSURE.
There are gun stores that are closer to my house and work. I will not hesitate to travel East to Benson's for all of my future purchases. They team is amazing!

Great experience as a new pistol permit holder/owner. Staff is friendly and helpful. Picked me up a Glock 19x and couldn’t be happier with it. Will be ordering another pistol from them soon! Just be patient at the store as all firearms are hard to come by and the store might be busy. Their range in Medford is nice too

My previous review about this shop was very negative and rightfully so. Couple years passed so I gave them a second chance and had a great experience this time and they were $40 cheaper than a competitor. I can't remember salesmen name but he stood out, very clean cut looking guy. I thought he was the owner based on his quality of service. Patient, professional and knowledgeable without the poor attitude I got last time.

I went in today asking about a specific air rifle. Dave was extremely helpful, friendly, informative, and did not rush through anything as we spoke about the rifle I wanted and discussed a few other options. It was a very pleasant experience!!! I have had some less comfortable experiences in the past in other shops. I highly recommend Benson’s, and you will be very lucky if you get Dave to help you!!! I will be returning for accessories and supplies! Thank you, Dave!

Great experience working with Henry on my first purchase here. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Will be doing future business here as well as referring friends. All of the other staff were very nice as well!

Excellent experience as always. The team here is quick to assist you with any purchases or questions you may have. Over the years, some of the more problematic associates mentioned in prior reviews have been moved or removed and the crew now are some of the best.

Large selection of products on hand and they do special orders if they don't have what you're looking for.

Bensons has a great inventory of rifles and pistols along with hunting and shooting supplies.
The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and courteous. Bensons is my go to gun shop for all my hunting and shooting needs.
