Hashtag Gaming Arena

Very clean and modern gaming store that offers a lot of board games, gifts, and also esports and events. I stoped by after seeing the sign on a local freeway and was surprised at how big the store was. There seemed to only have one employee during the middle of the weekday but he was super friendly and welcoming. What I’m very excited is to see a full bar in the back, so I’ll likely be back to try their event nights!

Absolutely awesome store!!!! Easily my favorite place to game in the DMV! Huge well ventilated space, Super comfy 6 way gaming chairs, extensive selection of games, books, cards, etc, hot food, adult beverages, and most of all, an incredible staff!! What’s not to like?!?! if you are tabletop gamer, you owe it to yourself to stop by at least once! HIGHLY recommend!!!!

This place is amazing! So much space, the staff is very helpful and flexible on reserving space for mtg, ttrpg and boardgames, Cory always greets me with a smile and checks up with me and other regulars to make sure we are always having a good time, and even my first time there he made sure we got some space for my DnD campaign.

Also the Bar is always having some new cool drink to try, very wide repertoire, never seen the staff allow anyone to get one too many drinks, very responsible establishment.

What I really appreciate about Hashtag is that they incredibly welcoming and inclusive. As a woman getting into card games such as Magic, it's sometimes intimidating to walk into a game store and feel welcome. I went to my first draft night this past weekend and the community made me feel incredibly welcome. Everyone was patient and willing to explain things I didn't understand and as a novice it really made me feel like the staff (and the patrons) really do care about the community formed.

Dave, the manger, was exceptionally helpful to not only me but to every customer I saw him interact with. You can tell that while, yes, this is a business and their job is to sell to you - they are also excited to share something that they all enjoy (in my case MTG) with the people that come in the store.

While I was there this past weekend, someone had walked in saying that they were in the area for a few days and wanted to check out a game shop since they were getting into MTG and was immediately invited to join a game - again reinforcing that the environment was so welcoming.

Their pricing is on par with other places I've shopped (plus!! reward points) and they have a bar (with an incredibly cool bartender, Joy). I highly recommend stopping by, grabbing a drink, and playing some games.

Just for someone stopping by and only has a smaller game store locally, this place makes me feel like a kid at the candy store. Man working the counter was knowledgeable and inclusive. Just wish I was closer so I could play MtG locally here cause it seems like a fun scene

I’ve been coming to Hashtag for about six months, averaging 0-2 days a week in store. I have always had a nice time visiting, whether it was for a pop-in to pick-up product or a longer stay for RPG night or MtG prerelease.
While there was some turn-over this year and now has a few newer clerks, I have always found the staff to be welcoming, informational, and open to conversation. Additional shout-out to Dave and Mike who are both very friendly and greet me when I am able to tumble through.
The customer demographic is about 85-90% male during most of my visits, but everyone is friendly to women and I have never experienced any uneasy moments.
Hashtag has a great inventory as well. I find them to have a great selection of MtG singles, which is sometimes difficult in this area, and the new iPad search system is great. My only three inventory complaints are 1) smaller selection of Dragon Shield colors than I would prefer, 2) currently does not carry Gamegenic products (of which I keep forgetting to request), 3) no Lorcana singles- which is basically impossible right now.
The store itself is larger than nearly every other local and regional venue, has great table space, and even alcohol!
I look forward to seeing the store continue to expand and hope that they continue their current process of increasing 1) prize support, 2) events, and 3) number of staff.

My husband and I love coming here! It’s our favorite place to buy board games, Pokémon cards, and Funkos. It’s one of those places where you can hangout for hours and leave with awesome memories, especially if you try out a new board game. They have very reasonable prices, and every staff member we’ve encountered is incredibly friendly, helpful, and supportive. We have yet to go to an event, but hope to very soon!

The existing photos on the board games didn't do this place justice, so I added a bunch. There are several walls of board games. It has the "classics" that more serious board gamers would expect (Catan, 7 wonders, azul) as well as a good variety of currently popular games, and some ones that are not in my wheel house, but I know people enjoy.

They also have a bunch of demo boxes available. I showed up just after they opened on a Wednesday and had a lovely chat with the manager. He was very knowledgeable on many of the games in the store, as well as fun to chat with.

Overall the place has a nice look to it... And has a bar! I wish I lived closer to actually play here on a game night, but I was just passing through looking for games that are not common in my local market.

We had a complete BLAST playing trivia, enjoyed the vibes, had great drinks, and loved the Trivia Master (Marc). Definitely will be coming back over and over again. Thank you!

this is the single best games store in all of dmv. amazing friendly staff, management that goes above and beyond, digital inventory viewable on touch screens, wide selection of singles in cases, active discord with announcements, kickin bar and hot food, killer events throughout the week, and fair prices!! i love the atmosphere and vibes in this shop, im here multiple times a week with my whole friend group. oh and gaming chairs as seating too! literally the best hobby shop and hangout spot. 10/10 spot

I truly love this place. Management and the entire staff are always fun and welcoming. I frequent this store multiple time a week and have never had a bad experience. I absolutely recommend this store to gamers of all kinds.

Sweet venue for all sorts of tabletop games. Clean and tidy as well with a cold water fountain and tons of merchandise. Located in the Franklin Farm Village Center, and the staff are super helpful and professional.

I love playing Magic: The Gathering here at Hashtag. The cocktail and beer selection at the bar is great for a game store. I'm honestly there drinking too often!

Great chairs in the table top area. Good card selection for singles. Good atmosphere. It doesn’t smell like sweaty nerds which is something I always appreciate. Also HUGE bathrooms.

Loved it! The staff was very kind and greeted me upon entering the store. Their selection of games, collectibles, and other merchandise is quite expansive. They have a lot of tables and comfy chairs if you choose to play there. I also liked that they have a bar and everything appeared to be very clean. Will definitely be back!

Hashtag has fun activities for anyone of any persuasion. I love coming on Tuesday and Wednesday nights for Magic the Gathering: Commander.

As a female gamer, not every gaming store makes you feel welcome, which is an unfortunate thing in today's world. However, David went out of his way to make me feel not only welcome, but understood. He is extremely knowledgeable about games, and asked me questions about what sort of games I played, and what game types interested me and gave me a ton of information, not only about games and events that were running at the store that I may be interested in, but also about games I hadn't tried yet, but were similar to games I already enjoy playing. He talked to me a lot about MTG, which is one of the main card games I play, and then told me about the Final Fantasy TCG, which appealed to me greatly and he offered to teach me how to play. He definitely did an amazing job showing me around the store and pointing out games for me to think about trying. The experience he created for me was like no other gaming store experience I've had as of yet and I will definitely be coming back and bringing my family and friends to check out the store! Thank you David for the awesome time and experience, I look forward to my next visit.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Place looks nice and clean . Plenty of games , D&D , and Magic the Gathering. Food and drinks offered also.
