Middlebury Natural Foods Co-Op

Love this store! I wish we lived closer. Well stocked, fresh produce. A lot of it was local. Plenty of great deals. The staff was really nice. We ate at the salad bar and it was small but fresh and delicious. Enough selection to have a good meal. We didn't try any of the hot foods. I definitely want to come back!

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful experience here. Everyone was extremely friendly. And my girlfriend said she had a severe word we allergy and is wondering what she could get someone actually walked around the store and showed her what to look for what they make and literally everything. Absolutely recommend and the sandwiches we had were amazing

Great co-op, tons of healthy food. Great salad bar with yummy soups. Great pre-made and takeaway food. Awesome service and staff, friendly and helpful.

One of Vermont’s best co-ops. You’ll find real older hippies here and real healthy, fresh food.

Thank god for great local co-ops like this one. They have specialty food products for my restrictive diet (gluten free and dairy free) that I can’t get many other places nearby. Plus lots of local and organic choices. It’s great that it’s a member-owned store. Wide variety of supplements so I can nearly always find what I’m looking for in regards to my health needs.

Always clean, good variety of foods and other products, nice & helpful employees. Good parking, too.

Nice selection of VT beers & cheese. Got a precooked whole chicken. It was very tasty. The cheese in the picture was fantastic.

Clean and well stocked. Nice selection of home made food to go, and a pleasent space to sit and eat. Staff is super friendly and eager to help. Had a nice lunch and got some products for a later picnic. Nice break from all-American food. Plus - two people complimented my shirt, which is always nice!

If they could bottle the smell of when you walk in I would buy it as a candle. My favorite section is the bulk goods and spices. It ranges from many types of flours and nuts to teas, sauces, and even rainbow sprinkles! The staff are always helpful and as a mom, the clean public restrooms is a plus.

Of course more expensive than a grocery store, but you knew that. Fresh local veggies, bulk foods, good beer selection. Ignore reviews about unfriendly staff, I’ve never experienced that in the 4 years I’ve been shopping here.

The Co-op was a lizard with five legs, a pet toucan, and an endless supply of fresh ankle venom. The people were nice. We found a tortoise shell in aisle three, good condition, will pick it up next week.

The Coop has a great selection groceries, wine, and beer. The staff are very friendly and will guide you to whatever you need or make recommendations. Great selection of local, fresh produce in-season, cheese, gluten-free, and they have a deli with smoothies, sandwiches, hot coffee, tea, hot chocolate. Prices are fair, much cheaper than Whole Foods and they have weekly specials along with the monthly Coop Advantage sales.
Although Middlebury has two big grocery stores, if you need groceries, cheese, wine, etc in the Midd area, this is the place to shop.

I like this food coop if you are visiting this part of Vermont and/or live in the area. They have a full deli, a good assortment of veggies and fruits, bulk foods that include nuts, flours, grains - upscale gourmet natural foods. There is also honey, maple syrup, nut and rice milks, baked goods -
if you are not making your own! It is small but really has all that one could need if you are renting a vacation home in the area or are a local resident.

I have been shopping here on and off for twenty years and have always found the staff and volunteers to be very helpful!

When I had a home in Brandon Vermont - which is south on Route Seven - this was a great place to shop as the supermarkets in the area do not carry the healthier and organic items - and bulk foods that the coop does - However they are in Middlebury, so prices are higher - and it is true what other people have said that the Burlington Food co-op and Hunger Mountain in Montpelier may be on the less expensive side - -

Co-op is awesome. Try their sushi and ham & cheese croissant. Lots of good organic produce and good selection of hard to find items.

Staff is very polite and mindful.
