Bolling Commissary

I worked there as the Grocery Manager 20 years ago. The store has changed since then. Paul Rhodes would never let that store open with filthy floors and clutter everywhere. I did meet an employee who remembered me. That was strange.

Good prices. Okay variety. Clean and well stocked. Can't beat the convenience.

I haven't been to the commissary in a long time. I purchased a pack of 14 wings for less than $8.00. I was beaming and surprised. Then I brought some boneless chicken breast, and a roast beef. All of it was less than $11.00 a pack. I guess I will be seeing a lot more of the commissary 🛍 😅

I love the base grocery store. People are so nice and selection is solid.

Good selection of groceries and fresh produce at good prices. I almost forgot to add that they have some of the best fresh sushi to order that I've ever come across. And at a great price. I frequently make the trip just for that great sushi! Have I mentioned that their sushi is really good?

Nice, clean, week stocked place. Try the freshly made sushi, it is pretty good for supermarket sushi.

Bolling Air Force Base Commissary is the
Military grocery store for active, reserve,
& veterans. No empty shelves in there of
any kind, beautifully arranged vegetable stands, fresh & frozen items, household
Products and plenty of goodies, like ice.

Is excellent! Prices very reasonable.

Good customer service, well stocked, and open every day reasonably late (7pm weeknights except Thursdays, when it's open till 8pm). Also, I love the covered parking, with solar panels mounted on each roof!

Update: They continued to reorganize. Never been better.

Customer service is great! Always clean. But everything is all over the place. There is a bunch of racks everywhere with random goods. So if you can’t find something in its respective place it may be on one of the racks around the store.

So it’s your standard base commissary. But everything can be out of place. Don’t know what’s up with that.

Trick if they don’t have what you want, you can request it.

I was on a mission... I picked up a cake for an admirals Flag party. Didn't see the whole store, I went straight to the bakery and left with a 25 pound, $100 cake. Cookies looked good, should have bought some. Baked goods were calling my name, but I ignored them. Parking is a little bit of a hassle because of construction right now, but I utilized my authority of cake transportation duty and parked right by the door. Minivan parked, hazzards flashing and all. There's a short Spanish speaking man who works there. He's cool, we acknowledged each other and he gave me a 'what's up' nod and we fistbumped. Great experience for 2 minutes worth of my life. I do recommend.

Best Sweet Tea I've found in the DC area! I grew up in MS, 3 hrs from baton rouge, so you know I know what's good. The catfish was AMAZING, and their green beans are to die for. Y'all, this is so.so.so!!!! Worth the visit. Family, faith, and some of the best blessed food I've had while being in the DC area. Don't let the looks fool you, give them a shot.

The staff here was always amazing. I never had any complaints from when I was a vendor. Not allowed to shop, but that's understandable. I had a pass to get on the base and merchandise the store. Great place to work.

Always the best! If you're part of the military family and just visiting the area, you can't beat the price and availability here or at the Exchange right across the parking lot. (And the Class VI is right down the street!)

Always have what I need or want when I go. This is my go to grocery store. Side note: more of a meat selection as far as sizes of cuts would be great.

Has the best rotisserie chicken and tuna salad! I do 80% of my grocery shopping there. The commissary is lacking on fresh fruits and vegetables though.

Perfect size commissary - not too big, not too small. It has all the everyday necessities that one needs for healthy everyday cooking plus a lot of organic and non/gmo items that I’m used to since moving from Europe.

Great customer service everytime I go.
