Deering's Market

I shop there everyday after work. Great selection and friendly staff. They are personal and care about the customers needs. I pass the gas station to stop at deering instead.

Love coming here for a lot if convenience items. Pop, beer, snacks and everything in between. The family that owns it are awesome. They are so nice and help with anything you need. Would rate them 10/10 if i could.

I've been shopping at this store since its "Barlow Superette" days. It is my neighborhood store and very convenient. Yeah, the prices are high but they have EVERYTHING, I swear. If you don't see it, ask and I bet they have whatever you're looking for in the back. Lol. The owners are respectful and friendly and they got to know me very quickly which was nice.

Iv been shopping here for over 10 years and though the staff has changed throughout the years they have always retained the family atmosphere. I'm usually greeted at the register in a friendly manner. They usually recognize me and since I'm a regular they already know what I'm getting before I even tell them. Great service friendly staff.

Indian food is excellent, the best in the area. The prices are reasonable, and the portions are a decent size. The Naan is chewy and perfect, and the rice is fragrant and cooked perfect every time.

For the record I have seen several reviews about overcharging people at the register, and I have "corrected" this myself before when checking out in the past. You guys have a good thing going. This is a small community, and I really appreciate your food, convenience, and selection. So if there is an "issue" at the register fix it.

Love the family that owns the place. They are so nice and respectful. Not to mention helpful! I encourage everyone to try the food. It's under rated and delightful.

Lovely Indian owned store with authentic Indian food from their kitchen. You can special order alcohol through them. Great variety of pops, drinks, snacks. I almost got stuck in their parking lot during winter because of sub par plowing but was still worth it.

A nice place and a bigger store than the one on union street. Provides your basics and then some and jerky of course. A nice place to go to if you don't want to go to the one way out on union street. Great for those living on Barlow Street!

Chicken curry is the most authentic in town- good portions, simple and fantastic flavor. Just the right amount of spice. For $8.50, hard to beat the amount of food you get (not excessive, but fair) and the quality is awesome. Authentic Indian food in Traverse City, who would have thought? Owner is very nice and the menu is always changing.

Really like this store. It is a must stop if you are in the area. The family that owns it is great. I will be back! Thank you!

Aside from being a cool, little party store, they have delicious Indian Food to go. The Chicken Curry & Paneer are my two favorites. The portion is large enough for me to make two meals...even though I sometimes don't!

Great steaks, chops burger, sausage and of course their world famous jerky. So good they had to expand the process to another location. Over 20 different kinds from Traverse City cherry to garlic to maple to spicy. Even Turkey jerky. Been family owned since the '30's. Market made hot dogs and brats. This isn't chain grocery store meats. Processed off site simply because they ran out of room, by the family. Great selection of local and area craft beers. Knowledgeable staff. Open till 11 and midnite on the weekends.

So these are good people and if you don't go in there and enjoy their hospitality you're just not smart

Fantastic Indian food! My family of 4 were very satisfied with Chicken Curry, Lamb Curry, Aloo Gobi (cauliflower and potatoes with spices), Daal (spiced lentils), and Naan (flatbread). The owners were extremely friendly and offered to cook us other options (Biryani) by request with 24 hours notification. Lamb curry was particularly delicious, very rich and full flavored. The naan was very good, soft and not as oily as other restaurants. 5/5 for me! ❤😍

moms kitchen is AMAZINGGGG. it’s the only authentic indian food in the area, highly recommend the butter chicken!!!

The market is great but you'll be coming back for is the homemade Indian food! Definitely the best Indian food in Northern Michigan.
