Walking in Barney's Hardware store is like walking back in time. And that's a good thing.

The nostalgia will literally greet you at the door. And when you walk in, you are immediately introduced to the well-worn wood flooring that hasn't seen treatment for ages. You'll be somewhat struck by the seemingly haphazard organization and cluttered look. But just ask for help and immediately, you'll be brought back to an era when the owner was glad you came, desirous to help and has what you need.

I came looking for picture hanging supplies. The display was meagerly stocked and at first I was disappointed. But with a short conversation by the owners, they came out from the back with everything I could possibly want.

I'll be back, if for nothing else than to take in the atmosphere and appreciate a business that is owner operated and displays true customer service.

Great service. I needed a doorlock and went to Home Depot but it could not fit the holes drilled already in the door. I could buy another door or take the advice of a Home Depot employee who suggested I go to Barney's Hardware, henceforth, I now head to Barney's Hardware before I even think about Home Depot.

Always a pleasure, great selection of items, big, clean, well organized. But the biggest plus is the customer service.

The staff here is nothing short of amazing. The gentleman that helped us find everything we needed was so personable and knowledgeable!

I left Home Depot seeking for specific pods for plumbing unfortunately home cheapo did not have it. I was directed towards Barneys hardware store and found the most intelligent, kind, detail oriented sales person. Has amicable nature and patience in solving problem was beyond my expectation. I was able to find the right parts within 3 to 5 minutes , After spending one hour at Home Depot without any assistance. He took his time, explained, video call with my contractor and solve the problem. They are the very best Ever .

Owner and workers here are great. Definitely prefer this store over Home Depot

This place have everything you need. Going there is much faster then going to HomeDepot. You ask the associate what you need and gets it for you in less than a minute. So you don't go crazy looking for stuff and when you don't find it there's no body to help. Its always my first choice. Its a hundred 💯 year old store and you'll love it once you there.

Amazing owner, Don. He is knowledgeable, honest, caring. He was my instructor years ago at night classes on how to fix issues around the house. There's a home Depot near me but i love going to Barney's Hardware for excellent personalized service!

This Mom & Pop hardware store has covered generations of the best of the best. I've been going there for so long I can't even remember what decade! Back to the matriarch, Carole, a wonderful lady who knew her customers names & could assist with almost anything into her 80's! Her son Dave, an honest, fair & super knowledable proprietor is THE go to guy for any household problem! Along with his son & wife this will stay, by far, the neighborhood's landmark family owned fix anything place to go!

Amazing service and knowledge. The owner and son will build you any broken pipe or fixture you bring if they don't have a replacement part. A real blast from the past in the way they help find items to solve your need. The place is a little rouged , but friendly , always good disposition to help someone who need help. when it comes to hardware store is one of the best service in Franklin Square.

Barney's is a neighborhood hardware store that has plenty of household items and equipment. If you don't see it ask because they probably have it.

I have never been to Barney's and did not get what I wanted.
