Cute little grocery store with lots of options for lunch! They have a deli counter, hot food section, salad bar, made to order burritos, smoothies, and so many prepaid items. It’s a bit pricey but that’s to be expected with the quality of food. I ordered the tantalizing turkey sandwich which was delicious and way to big for me to eat in one sitting! Can’t wait to go back and try more

Their bulk section is awesome!!! Nice cheese selection as well. Seafood we have tried was very fresh.

Packaged foods are expensive but you know you are getting sustainably sourced foods. Keep an eye out for sales.

Membership is totally worth it!

This place is amazing. It's a co-op like the one in Sacramento, just a tad smaller.

Everyone is nice, the employees are courteous as well as helpful. They also have a nice, shaded, area with dog poop bag stations above. I like to sit and work or relax while my car is charging.

Oh and let's talk about the new chargers. They JUST activated these beauties. I never saw a ChargePoint fast charger before now. Reasonable and competitively priced, too.

The bonus is it is within walking distance to the local community college, Sierra College.

Deliciously prepared dishes, fantastic supply of the best quality foods & fresh meats with lots of choices for locally grown produce and competitive prices! Friendly, friendly staff to boot :)

The polenta with roasted red pepper was amazing!

The vegan macaroni salad is the yummy drier type with just the right amount of purple onions.

They also have those wonderful tangy cranberry bran muffins. One is enough for two and they don't cheap out on the cranberries which makes these muffins nice and moist inside and a perfect muffin top.

The customer service was always excellent and they are always friendly.

They also have a nice assortment of cheeses.

The produce section is amazing.

One little criticism which has always been my experience with every checkout person, is they don't take care with the tomatoes when bagging and particularly the heirlooms which tend to be more sensitive to getting squished. They again were squished under other heavier veggies.

Really great food and selection. The people that work here are really nice, and they have moving box recycling out font, and music sometimes. Seems the way a business should be run, imo. I reckon they will be continually successful with this motus operandi.

BriarPatch Co-op is a must visit every time in town for all the perfect fixings. Grocery, organic local produce with hot/cold bar,deli and fresh food made to order. It's on point for ten BriarPatch Co-op great job 👍!

Sometimes Hippies & Liberals Can Have Bad Attitudes But The People Who Work Here Are Genuinely Nice People Who Care About Food & People . Whoever Is Hiring The People Who Work Here Is Doing A Great Job Along With Everyone Else At The Briar Patch Co-Op . If You're In The Area Stop & Get Something Great To Eat Here .

Pricey but when we're able to cover it worth it for the quality and selection. And just feels good supporting a co-op as opposed to corporations.

Great food, express drinks, organic, people. I go here for specialty items and great home made organic cookies. Stopped in for a wonderful vegetable Pastie when in a hurry, so warming (microwave available) and a comfort food in that rainy day. They have a lot to choose for a quick healthy snack, or one can do real shopping with quality organic products. Prices may be higher than other stores by the time you check out but they have a lot of good sales, but that's organic and quality I'm willing to pay for.

Love it here. Great selection of food & especially love all the starter plants for my garden. Really appreciate the huge variety of organic starters. Staff is always really nice and super friendly. We joined as co-op owners & enjoy the things we can order in bulk at a bigger discount.

Love this place. I can find any ingredient I need for a recipe no matter how exotic. Everything I buy needs to be organic for health reasons and I can get everything I need all in one place. I love that even household items are competitively priced and environmentally friendly. With inflation going crazy I'm pleased that my shopping trip was much more bountiful today for less than my last trip to Raleys which cost much more and yielded less. In the spring organic plant starts are also available. Love it!

This food coop is really connected to the community! And this grass roots coop can compete with any large grocery store on quality, selection and services available! If you don’t want to shop for food while you are hungry, definitely go to the cafe/deli inside and enjoy! Get a sandwich made to order and cup of Love Buzz coffee for a pick-me-up. And to top it all off the service is always friendly and top notch as well. The staff is always very helpful and courteous.

Everyone makes everyone feel welcome here. There's a great selection of foods. All of the people that work there are FANTASTIC. I appreciate each one. MaryLou has been working there, probably since I first started shopping in Grass Valley, a few decades back. Whenever I have a question, I always receive an efficient answer and I'm so grateful for this wonderful customer service. Of course I missed the salad bar and other things during this covid-19. It was one of the best salad bars anywhere.

Such a lovely establishment. All of the products are awesome from wholesome food too energy healing and holistic medicine. I highly recommend stopping here when they aren't busy. The environment is very calm and respectful. I also love the food from the deli!

Excellent place! Just go and find out. Deli that serves everything hot and cold, very tasty and fresh. Best place to shop in Grass Valley and I'm sure if you shop here you will obtain more mental clarity, better mood and way more energy. Eat good/feel good, eat bad/feel bad. And the food here is top quality. Great customer service too!
