Fantastic comprehensive little home brew supply store with helpful staff. They got us sorted for keg equipment for our cider. They also rent out some equipment.

Wonderful, helpful staff. We took our pears here to turn them into perry. Spent the day prepping, crushing and pressing. Nice selection of yeasts, cheese making supplies, and brewing bits and equipment.

Nothings better then having a home brew shop locally with tons of supply. So i can brew the day after my constantly conniving brain comes up with a new recipe at 3 am.

Come with questions and leave with answers. This is not only a great place to grab some brewing equipment and supplies but the staff is so knowledgeable about beer and wine recipes (they even offer the copy recipes to try making a popular or local brew that you already enjoy)!

Love the folks at Sierra Moonshine! They have helped me tremendously on my quest for knowledge in the art of fermentation. From brewing all grain beer, to mead, wine and beyond. These guys are your source for fermentation supplies/knowledge in Nevada County. Also keep an eye out for their spring/summer class sched on fermentation of all types; including food and non alcoholic ferments as well!

A trip to Sierra Moonshine always puts me in the mood to brew. There is an authenticity to the soul of this place, it could be the wonderful musty malt atmosphere or the fact that they offer home grown hops. Whatever the case, I suggest going when you are not in a rush as there is plenty of information to be gleaned from the owners who work the floor there.

We love this place. Provides everything u need to make you own wine, beer and moonshine including the classes. Always friendly helpful people there and reasonable prices too!

Knowledgeable customer service that aims to please!

While passing through the Nevada City area I happened upon this cozy store and was delighted by what I found; an extensive selection of fermentation equipment, hops, grains, and spices (including Palo Santo, which reminds me of the streets of La Paz, and I'm excited to experiment with in beer).

I happily found great stainless steel ball valves I had trouble finding elsewhere; staff-member Zack not only gave me the low-down on why easily sanitize-able and temperature tolerant silicon tubing is the way to go and what to consider when purchasing beer faucets, but also shared some tips on his latest simcoe single-hop IPA.

I made 2 trips during my short time there and would definitely recommend it to anyone travelling within an hour of Grass Valley.
