Costco Wholesale

Amazing shopping mall in Portland. You get almost everything from fresh produce, groceries to heavy electronics. The prices are most competitive as compared to online shopping apps. Not to forget the food zone where they offer delicious pizza, cookies and deserts.

Good place. Massive store, better than Sam's club and BJ's combined. Lego sets for $40 and 4 pc laser tag set for $30. Especially good prices on ice cream. The guy at the exit, Peter, was very nice and smiling the whole time. Massive carts by the way. The store is 161,000 ft^2. Very good prices, great store. Better than any other store in the area for sure.

Absolutely loved it! So glad we have this Costco in Maine. Everyone has been incredibly kind, even with the influx of people during the opening week. This Costco is so well staffed and stocked up with everything you need (minus liquor; they haven’t gotten their liquor license yet). The store is extremely clean and organized, and the prices just can’t be beat. Seriously, do the math by weight/quantity and compare it to Hannaford prices and you won’t ever be able to shop elsewhere again. So glad you’re here, Costco!

Huge and very clean! It has more than the one I used to go back home. Someone told me when I was here that this is the 2nd largest Costco in US. Unfortunately ended up spending way more than I was expecting to but I guess that’s what happens in a Costco. 😂

I have been here 3 times already and unfortunately with only one person manning the station for taking the photo for id, it’s impossible to wait in line over an hour to try and get it taken. It’s been a failed attempt each time and today, I waited outside before it even open. Perhaps Costco can increase the number of cameras to help with this process if this photo id is a mandatory thing as one of the staff says.

Absolutely incredible experience at the Costco tire center. Everyone from the front door to the shop workers was friendly and eager to help. Appointment was done on time and even with a fire alarm and evacuation all staff maintained a calm professional demeanor. After the building was clear the tire center staff went out of their way to get me my keys and paper work back and to make sure I was safe with my new tires. Came back for a torque check and was greeted with the same friendly attitude as the first time. I can’t speak for the whole store (because I’ve had limited experience with them) but the tire center staff is incredible. A refreshing surprise in today’s world of customer service, I couldn’t be happier.

Literally the most amazing customer care and service. Chris S at the member service desk is the absolute MVP. He is super professional, while also being super nice and super friendly. He always treats everyone with so much respect and kindness. I am never made to feel ashamed or guilty for having a genuine and valid return within the return window. I've found that many stores eye you like you are trying to steal or defraud them always if you even think about returning something. In contrast, Chris genuinely love to help others and do everything he can to help people out. He has always made my day whenever I have to visit the service desk, and he always delivers amazing, above-and-beyond service with a smile and lots of humor. Please continue to hire and keep people like Chris S, Costco. 😭😭😭❤

LOVE COSTCO! This is the first time I've ever been to a Costco anywhere or had a membership. It is Maine's first Costco! Opened in November 2023! Costco is super clean and new, and the food court is fantastic and run very efficiently. I get my food between 20 seconds to never longer than 5 mins after ordering, depending on how busy it is. On average, it takes 1 min. It is so fast!!! Food very fresh and tasty. The Berry (fruit) smoothie is to die for! And the pepperoni pizza slices are so amazing! I'm always finding something new I didn't know I needed but have to take home (e.g. cooling body pillows, salad spinners, bean bags). The prices are fantastic and there are always instant savings like at Sam's Club and BJ's.

There's always tons of clean and large produce boxes to put groceries into at all the registers. It's a great experience shopping at Costco!!! The person who checks receipts at the door, the older gentleman, is super super nice and very funny. I don't know his name yet, but he's a great guy 🥰🥰💜 thanks for coming to Maine, Costco. So happy to have you!!!!!🧡💜🙏

I do really wish Costco had a faster website/app and a way for members to check store prices and store inventory online. Unlike Sam's Club and BJ's, Costco moves a certain number of items around every day or almost every day (the Treasure Hunt business model). Unlike Sam's Club and BJs, there are no aisle markers or store map, so you will definitely need to spend some time getting to know the store over a few visits before you know where anything is located. (Food still will move around, but seem to stay on the same aisle, usually, or one aisle over.)

In sum, I love Costco and will continue renewing my membership for years to come. A super amazing experience, and great value here!!!!♥♥🧡💜🥰💛🥰

Wife and I joined a few weeks ago and have already made two trips. We've previously had memberships at some competitor wholesale clubs and Costco seems to be on par. The offerings are slightly different then their competitors. Assuming this is the only membership I keep there will be a few things that I'll miss from their competitors but there are also a few things they have like a particular mayonnaise that I use as well as a snack that I get for my daughter that their competitors don't have. I also like that their gas is Top Tier Certified.

Gotta love Costco! Monstrous amount of wholesale items! Very easy to spend here so make sure you stick to what you went for. Membership is $60 for the year. If you download the app there are monthly coupons that are a good amount off. Highly recommended!

Been members for years and years. Had to travel out of state to shop at one. Now Costco is 15 minutes away! Big well stocked store. We love their house brand items, great quality and price. Hope they add alcohol sales soon.

A member only warehouse store that carries many quality products at good prices. Delicious rotisserie chicken for $4.99. Excellent assortment of meats and a larger assortment of fish than some of the other warehouse box stores. I am extremely happy the Scarborough Costco store opened, so I don't have to drive to MA.

Maine finally ascends to a higher level with the arrival of its first Costco, and it's a very good Costco. The store is very large, much bigger than others I have been to, leaving lots of space for a large selection of toys and clothing in the center. It also has a particularly well designed food court area, with a separate bank of electronic ordering kiosks and a large waiting area to keep things moving smoothly. We'll definitely be back!

So glad to have a Costco in Maine! This is the 2nd largest Costco in the country, so there is a massive selection. You can expect the Costco service you've come to know and love.

I currently work here!
but had the chance on one of my days off to buy this! It’s a steal they normally are $50-$60 anywhere else, but here at Costco I got this for $28.99 plus tax to about $30. It’s half the size of me hahaha

Awesome selection of any item, both in store and on line! Easy way to store up on any thing you wish! Very clean and great layout. Employees extremely helpful if needed. Lines move very fast at check-out. Plenty of self-checkout as well. Fully stocked, even on a busy day. Huge free parking lot with plenty of handicap parking making store access easy. Gas station has great multiple pumps. Both warehouse and gas very competitive with priceing

After years about hearing all the wonderful things regarding Costco, I finally had the chance to see for myself. My wife signed us up when Costco finally came to Maine in the last few months and I had the chance to visit the store in Scarborough. The vast parking lot was the first indication of scale, perhaps 50% full on a quiet Thursday morning between winter storms. The large gas station was enticing, since their price per gallon is roughly $0.45 per gallon below anyone else but Sam's Club. Unfortunately my gas tank was full. I had a return to process first thing, no sweat - the friendly woman handled it with aplomb. Then I walked every aisle just to take in what was on offer. As a businessman, I was extremely impressed with the way the place is set up and how it functions despite huge demand. Any consumer, even older folks like us with no small business and no children at home, can save significant $$ at this place by paying attention and buying what makes sense. I was impressed by the obvious focus on product quality - unique granolas that have far less sugar than supermarket brands. Packaged meats like chicken sausages at very low prices but ingredients I can live with for healthy eating. The clothing is uninspiring but I am lucky to be able to afford better items. A quick 25% savings on gift cards to Portland Pie company, sold! I know their hearing aids and eye glasses are very well regarded so I'll try them when needed. Heck, even car buying and maintenance deals, to say nothing of great savings on travel. And of course, $1.50 for a sizable hot dog and soft drink - who does that except smart business folks who know how to terrorize their competition while benefitting their customers. In short, wow wow wow!

I was using the tire air outside in the parking lot and gave myself a hard time. I don't know if it was me or the pump ( I had used this pill before with no problems) but I ran my back tire flat. One of the tire center employees was on his way out (probably to go home). He was kind enough to help me (had to trick the air pump sensor to get it to work). He has no obligation. I am sure his shift was over but he helped me with a great attitude. I have loved Costco since it came here but this event further cements me as a Costco loyalist. If you are on the edge deciding whether you want to keep your membership or enroll for the first one, just do it. Honestly incredible service to get from an employee of a major corporation. You really don't see this unless it's from a mom and pop store.

Getting my membership and card took a bit of time, but there was staff there helping make it go faster.
Stall were all friendly and helpful.
Inside Costco is overwhelming at first. There is so much to see and check out. Fun experience all in all.

We wandered through, out of curiosity and found the place is huge. If you need to pick up a fridge, flooring, muffins, and a churro, this is your place to go.

Otherwise, it struck us as just another warehouse membership place like the others. My wife compared prices to our normal spot and found some things less and other things more, all about evening out.

The food court looks like a nice perk that we don't have at our warehouse store.

I love Costco and so happy we now have one in Maine. Welcome,...and please open more! Great products and great buys..especially if there's a sale.
