Oldest City Bait & Tackle

The locals say this is the best tackle shop in town. A wide selection of fishing gear, and a variety of live bait to choose from. Located a stones throw from the beach. And is always busy.

The owner was Eagles fan my man. Plus it's cheap there nice guy good place. GO BIRDS!

They have a great selection of bait and tackle always fresh. Big fish love them shrimp they sell all ways getting a bite. Family owned and great customer service. Would definitely recommend coming here. And for the bathrooms I’ve never spotted a bug in there very clean and have nice paper towel holder.

This is our favorite bait shop. We prefer to support our local shops over big box stores. The staff here is always open on time like clockwork and they really know the sport.

On vacation in St. Augustine Beach for the week. Stopped by Old City Bait & Tackle to grab bait for fishing. Greeted when I walked in and was asked if I needed help. Great customer service and prices. Definitely recommend.

Excellent prices. I liked it so much I even bought one of their cute Betty t-shirts.

Opens earlier than any other. I show up at time posted and never had issues. Anyone crying they not open late enough needs to plan out trips better.

I go down to St. Augustine each year in October. I started surf fishing again 2 years ago. I started calling down there and "picking there brain" for tips and info. They were very helpful and patient. When I got down there I stopped by and got bait as well as tackle. They set up my poles so I was ready to go. The following year it was just as good. I can't wait to go back. I would highly recomend this store to anyone !!!!!

The fresh frozen shrimp was an absolute killer on the pier. The frozen mullet was great as well. The process for the bait was way cheaper than I thought it was going top be and the service was excellent. It's the go to bait shop with amazing information for catching fish in the area

Planned a fishing trip and stopped here for some tackle and insight. Staff helped us out tremendously and put me on some quality great. Highly recommend.

Visited this week a lot 5/8-12/2023

Very friendly and helpful. Looks like a good selection of tackle. I had no gear for fishing here, so she set me up with two rod/reel combos, hooks, rigging and bait for very good price. You don't have to go to Walmart to go fishing inexpensively.

As an out of town angler it was such a joy to find a local business that is so friendly and helpful. They got us exactly what we needed and didn't try and sell us anything we didn't. The are very knowledgeable about the local area and generous with that knowledge.

Good prices on bait and tackle. Convenient location. On vacation we always buy from locally owned businesses. Very nice young lady behind counter took care of us. We will be back. Thank you.

Very friendly and knowledgeable. I only fresh water fish, but they gladly took the time to spin me up and get me rigged out. Very reasonably I might add. Great place!

We fished for 3 straight days without even a bite, we walked in the bait shop and asked for advise and the good looking girl behind the counter told me exactly what i had to have. Went out fishing after that and i could not stop catching. Thank you gorgeous behind the counter

This place is great. Ok. They don't ALWAYS Have live bait, but the owner and staff are awesome and prices on everything is super. I go here first for all my fishing needs.
